Unintended consequences of the Tucker Carlson firing

Newsmax ratings climb after Tucker Carlson’s exit at Fox

The New York Times has even recognized the sea change created by the kneejerk reaction firing of Tucker Carlson at Fox News.

Newsmax, the niche conservative news channel that has long played David to Fox News’s Goliath, has seized on Tucker Carlson’s shock dismissal from its rival network and declared itself the true TV home for right-wing Americans.

So far, the strategy is showing some promise.

Viewership of Newsmax remains far below that of Fox News. But its audience at certain hours has doubled, and in some time slots tripled, in the immediate aftermath of Mr. Carlson’s exit — an abrupt spike that has turned heads in conservative circles and the cable news industry.

On Monday evening, Eric Bolling’s 8 p.m. Newsmax program drew 531,000 viewers, according to Nielsen. One week earlier, it had 146,000. On Tuesday, Mr. Bolling’s audience grew to 562,000 viewers, equal to about 80 percent of Anderson Cooper’s CNN viewership that evening. Newsmax’s other prime-time shows also experienced big jumps.

The sharp rise in viewership can be timed almost to the minute of Fox News’s announcement on Monday that it was parting ways with Mr. Carlson, in part because of private messages sent by the anchor that included offensive and crude remarks.

Executives at Newsmax quickly sensed an opportunity.

Starting on Monday, Newsmax programming has aggressively pushed a narrative that Mr. Carlson’s dismissal was a capitulation to the left by Fox News and the Murdoch family.

One pundit mused on the air that Lachlan Murdoch, the executive chairman of the Fox Corporation, was “much more liberal” than his father, Rupert. Andrew Napolitano, a Newsmax pundit who was fired by Fox News in 2021 over a harassment allegation, said Fox News dismissing its top-rated anchor “is like the 1927 Yankees firing Babe Ruth for his table manners — I don’t get it.”

Anchors and guests harped on a recent appearance by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, in which she called for Mr. Tucker’s firing. “A.O.C. speaks, and now Fox listens,” grumbled the Newsmax anchor Chris Salcedo. “These really are end times.”

(continued)

At the time, Newsmax saw a burst in viewership, even recording higher ratings than the Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum one evening in December 2020. (Ms. MacCallum was switched to a different time slot not long afterward.) But its audience eventually shrank. And despite Mr. Trump’s complaints, Fox News continued as the undisputed ratings king of cable news, powered in part by Mr. Carlson’s increasingly provocative program.

The Tucker viewers will not go to CNN, no matter how much the Times wishes

No matter how much body english the Times applies to its words, they will not be able to bamboozle conservatives by twisting the facts. First off, any conservative reading the Times is doing it with an eye not to be fooled. They know the constant Marxist diatribe to be expected from the Times. Second, in sheer numbers, those numbers of conservatives reading the Times are small.

Now we know how much more Tucker knows his brand than Fox

NewsMax outlines the business and media savvy of Tucker Carlson as he traverses the ever-changing landscape.

Tucker knows his brand, Fox, not so much

One thing is for sure: Tucker Carlson understands branding. Whether you like him or not, the conservative firebrand knows his brand and appreciates all its benefits.

His departure from the “fair and balanced” network — FNC, has prognosticators speculating on what happened, leading to the news of why he left the Fox News Channel.

Some have identified his moving on from being one of the casualties of the Dominion Voting Machines lawsuit, where Fox had to pay over a half-billion dollars in damages, to speculation there were additional lawsuits that Carlson was involved in, to the simple old idea, that Rupert Murdoch didn’t like Tucker.

It is no secret that the news business is a personality industry replete with egos that can turn a career faster than a speeding bullet or, for that matter, a news cycle.

There is also the theory that Mr. Murdoch was over Carlson’s prima-donna antics. His airing of additional January 6 footage challenged the Democrat’s insurrection theory, his anti-Ukraine anti-war position, and his many other nonconventional opinions that only reinforced his brand to his countless and loyal audience.

This series of events didn’t wear well with the elder Murdoch and led to the parting of ways between these grand brands.

If Tucker understands his brand, what can be said about the Fox News Channel? It doesn’t say a lot. From a branding perspective, Fox has lost sight of its brand and appeal to its loyal audience over the years.

Yes, there is a bias at this blog

I do hope that Tucker enjoys greater success, at least for the short term, than Fox.

Additionally, there is the input of Victor Davis Hanson

To get the outside perspecitive of the Telegraph, here is a long-format interview of Victor Davis Hanson by the Telegraph on the firing of Tucker Carlson.

Let’s make some lists of firsts for and against President Trump

Firsts for President Trump

President Trump accomplishments in office

During four years, President Trump:

What is it exactly that Joe and the Democrats have accomplished since 2020?

Have they conquered climate change? (That’s a trick question: you know they never will conquer climate change even if there were a simple answer to the questions at the bottom of the “crisis.”)

It’s 2023. Has the “transitory” inflation they talked about turned out to be transitory?

Considerting that Joe sent us all home with his COVID restrictions, he can’t take credit for a “recovering” jobs outlook while the economy teeters on banking collapse.

More to the point, why should we re-elect woke, open border politicians of any party

Since I have followed the habits of Senator John Cornyn, I know what a turn-coat he can be for conservatives. Although he seems to pull out the conservative catch words only every six years (and otherwise keeping his liberal likeness to former Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison), he always seems to stab conservatives in the back early in his term.

Therefore, I know that both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for the lousy state of:

The things endured by President Trump during his administration and following that

President Trump is the first president:

  • To be wiretapped by the FBI before taking office
  • To be banned from social media platforms
  • To be impeached twice
  • To be raided by the FBI
  • To be indicted by a district attorney who has downgraded multiple felonies to midemeanors

Tell me what the press has not shielded Joe Biden from when it comes to scandal

We know that Joe was the genesis of or was very closely associated with the genesis of the following scandals:

Democrats pounce!

Democrats jump at the chance to get a kindred soul in Wisconsin’s high court

Lawfare at work: Pelosi, Soros, and other Democrats pour money into “nonpartisan” Wisconsin Supreme Court race

The Daily Caller shows us how Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, and other top Democrat movers and shakers have started pouring money into the “nonpartisan” Wisconsin race for a Supreme Court position.

Top-Democratic leaders are funneling millions of dollars into the Democratic Party of Wisconsin ahead of the state’s “nonpartisan” Supreme Court race, according to finance reports released Monday.

Both George Soros and Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker funded the party with $1 million each, and Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California donated $12,000, according to finance reports for this period, Feb. 7 to March 20. The liberal candidate, Milwaukee County Judge Janet Protasiewicz, received roughly $8.7 million from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin in funds.

“Janet Protasiewicz’ campaign is being bankrolled by far-left Democrats responsible for soft-on-crime policies, liberal prosecutors, and catch and release DAs nationwide,” Rachel Reisner, a Wisconsin GOP spokesperson, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “George Soros and J.B. Pritzker’s million-dollar contributions underscore that Protasiewicz will simply be a progressive rubber stamp, and they’ll drop whatever cash needed to buy her a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat because her pro-criminal record aligns with their agenda, one that has wreaked havoc on Democrat-run cities throughout America.”

Protasiewicz received just over $8 million in monetary donations and more than $700,000 in non-monetary funds from the state’s Democratic Party, the finance reports show.

Does it seem that Democrats want to skip the messy part of writing the law

Just have a sympathetic judge go in there and re-interpret the law to say 1,000 genders or a universal basic income.

This could be key when the next federal election occurs and ballot boxes get stuffed.

Luckily for Jane, those at The View agree with her

Jane Fonda says “murder” is the solution to anti-abortion advocates

Little Rock, Arkansas, ABC affiliate KATV reports that Jane Fonda went on ABC‘s day-time talk show The View to announce that the solution to pro-life advocates is not to debate them, but to murder them.

Actress Jane Fonda has been reported to the Capitol Police by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., for her suggestion that “murder” is a solution to anti-abortion legislation and its advocates.

During a recent appearance on “The View,” Fonda was chatting with show hosts about abortion and the fact that women no longer have the federally protected right of access to abortion after Roe V. Wade was overturned.

We have experienced, many decades now, of having agency over our bodies, of being able to determine when and how many children to have,” Fonda said on the show. “We know what that feels like, we know what that’s done for our lives.”

We’re not going back, I don’t care what the laws are,” Fonda added as the show’s audience begins to applaud. “We’re not going back.”

The show’s hosts then smiled, agreed and said “there’s the activist” in reference to Jane before asking her what, besides protests and marching, pro-abortion advocates can do in response to anti-abortion legislation and its advocates.

Well… murder,” Fonda says with a straight face.

If ABC doesn’t agree with this, why is The View still on the air?

This, in contraposition to what the press now says, was not a joke. Look at the video and see. This was a point of agreement to murder the opposition. Joy Behar, Jane Fonda, and the rest all agreed with the outcome.

Katie Hobbs’ press secretary obviously also believes in Jane Fonda’s solution as it would apply to those who disagree with trangenderism

AZ Central points out how the spokesperson for Katie Hobbs called for “transphobes” to be shot rather than debated. This envoking of gun violence sounds like a hate crime.

A social media post from Gov. Katie Hobbs’ spokesperson suggesting the use of violence against those who disparage transgender people has prompted a backlash and calls for the governor to take action.

Hobbs spokesperson Josselyn Berry late Monday posted an image on Twitter from the 1980 movie “Gloria,” showing a woman with a handgun in each hand. “Us when we see transphobes,” Berry wrote in an accompanying post that followed a prior message.

The post was made hours after a mass killing at a Nashville school where the shooter was identified by law enforcement authorities as a transgender person. The tweet was amplified Tuesday by Republican lawmakers and consultants, who panned it as tone deaf and advocating violence.

The Arizona Freedom Caucus, which includes the state Legislature’s farthest-right members, called for Berry’s dismissal, saying that “calling for violence like this is un-American & never acceptable.”

The caucus and its leader Sen. Jake Hoffman, R-Queen Creek, is often at odds with Hobbs and has threatened to sue her over her first executive order. That order expanded protections from discrimination to include gender and reaffirmed that in matters of state employment and contracts, sexual orientation could not be considered. Hoffman charged that Berry was “threatening to shoot people Democrats disagree with less than 12 hours after the Nashville shooting.”

It turns out that this spokesperson was eventually let go

Although the spokesperson was eventually let go, the lag time between the event and the dismissal shows (like the event on The View) there to be a degree of agreement between the governor and her murder-preoccupied spokesperson.

So, if you are pro-life and have a meeting with the Arizona governor, watch your six.

Just when the press was resisting reporting on one attack by a transgender

Stop me if you’ve heard this: In little over 4 years, 4 transgender-identifying mass murderers have attacked

Breitbart lays out the facts regarding mass murders perpetrated by men identifying as women and women identifying as men.

In November of 2018, Snochia Moseley, a man who identified as a woman, wounded three and killed three after opening fire at his place of employment in Aberdeen, Maryland.

In May of 2019, a Colorado woman who identified as male shot up a school, killing one and wounding eight.

In November of 2022, a Colorado man who shot up a gay nightclub, killing five and wounding 18, was identified as transsexual.

On Monday, 28-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a woman who identified as a man, entered a Nashville Christian elementary school with a firearm. She murdered three adult staffers and three nine-year-old children.

In less than five years, that’s four mass shootings committed by people who make up about one-half of one percent of the population. So that works out to around 2.75 mass shootings per million transsexuals over four years.

Something tells me that, were this reversed, we would not be hearing the mocking of Christians across the air waves

Were this a case of four pastors having each committed multiple murders (the most recent including three children), we would be hearing of the dangers of Christians daily.

After Matt Taibbi explains how Biden and his FBI collude with Twitter to suppress free speech, …

Biden’s IRS visits Matt Taibbi and the Biden regime remains silent (since the IRS owes Taibbi money)

The New York Post digs into the case of official oppression by Biden’s jackbooted thugs in the IRS.

The White House declined to comment Wednesday on an IRS agent’s visit to journalist Matt Taibbi’s home on the same day that he testified to a House subcommittee investigating the “weaponization” of government.

The surprise March 9 door-knock came as the “Twitter Files” collaborator described his reporting on how the government pressured social media platforms to censor online speech.

The Post asked at the first White House press briefing since the news of the visit broke Monday about whether the visit was “part of a campaign to harass or intimidate [Taibbi] related to his journalism.”

White House spokesman John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, declined to provide a substantive reply.

“I’m afraid I’m going to have to refer you to the IRS,” he said succinctly.

“Federal law prohibits the IRS from commenting on individual taxpayer matters,” spokesman Robert Marvin told The Post.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, whose department includes the IRS, also was pressed for answers Wednesday by House lawmakers.

“What are the chances of that being just luck?” Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) asked Yellen of the timing of the visit.

“That the IRS appeared at someone’s home while he’s testifying about the weaponization of the federal government before Congress? Because I think it’s minuscule. I think it’s one in a million or less,” Stewart said.

“It’s certainly something that I would want to look into,” Yellen replied.

Think about this. Biden using the IRS as a weapon. Biden using the courts as a weapon. Biden using the FBI to pressure the instant press (Twitter) to publish only what he approves. Does this sound like a dictatorship?

If you read the heading above and come to another conclusion than that of a dictatorship, I would love to see your full reasoning and would invite you to comment below. Be forwarned, though. I will erase all profanity.

Controversial group behind “Trans Day of Vengeance” raised money for firearms training

The Daily Mail tells us how the Trans Radical Activist Network (TRAN) organized to raise money for firearms training by sponsoring dance events. Additionally, when conservatives publicized the matter, it was conservatives who got banned from Twitter and other social media.

Despite three nine-year-olds being gunned down by a transgender shooter at a private Christian school in Nashville, activists are still rallying the troops to protest for a ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’ – months after raising money for firearms training.

Transgender shooter Audrey Hale opened fire on the Covenant School in Nashville at 10.30am on Monday, killing Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney and Evelyn Dieckhaus during her rampage at the school.

But despite rising political tensions across the country, which saw a press secretary for Arizona Democrat Governor post a Tweet about shooting transphobes, the Trans Radical Activist Network (TRAN) is pushing forward with their protest in DC.

The Virginia chapter of the group held a ‘dance party fundraiser’ in Richmond ‘benefiting firearm/self-defense training for trans-Virginians’ on March 7, before the mass shooting had taken place.

In statements, the group has taken pains to distance themselves from Hale, and her actions, and changed the name of the protest before the brutal slayings.

The protest on Saturday was initially meant to be called a ‘day of visibility’ but rebranded before the shooting to vengeance because it means ‘fighting back with vehemence’ – though the group was quick to say they do not ‘encourage or promote violence’ when contacted by DailyMail.com.

But one activist appears to have taken the movement to the next level, posting a picture of a heavily armed person with an assault rifle and threatening to ‘kill christcucks’ – as Twitter removed thousands of posts with flyers for the event.

Twitter has been removing the posts that could be deemed threatening or involve guns associated with the ‘TransDayofVengeance’ hashtag – but it is unclear exactly how many were others posing with weapons as they have since been deleted.

Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, wrote that the company removed more than 5,000 tweets that included a poster for the event.

She said: ‘We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them.

‘Vengeance’ does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok.’

Two other trans activists have since posted footage and photos of themselves with rifles, which appear to be in direct response to the Nashville shooting.

One says that she will use the weapon for ‘protection’ against ‘transphobes’ who  target them.

Kayla Denker, who describes themselves as a ‘communist, archaeologist and writer, posted the video of herself with her gun after the incident in Nashville – despite saying ‘advocating for trans people to arm ourselves is not any kind of a solution to the genocide we are facing’.

(Read more at the Daily Mail)

I support anyone’s right to protect themselves; however, I don’t support intimidation

Protect yourself and I am behind you. Start inciting violence against others and you will have won an enemy.

Additionally, be forwarned that (unlike the liberal press that will call laws forbidding talking about sex with children under the age of majority to be “killing transgenderism”) I see these matters as black and white. Protecting children from pornography is not book banning. Protecting children from inappropriate topics that their parents have not approved is not killing. However, making verbal and printed threats are a form of assault. Therefore, to encourage people to “behead christcucks” is to promote violence and should be punished as such.

It has been and will be conservative voices that Twitter continues to ban

Tell me again how we cannot abandon Twitter and just regularly monitor (and boycott) everything on Twitter

The Daily Beast informs us of the deplatforming of Representative Majorie Taylor Greene over her exposure of the “Trans Day of Vengeance.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s congressional Twitter account was restricted Tuesday after the Georgia Republican shared an image about a “Trans Day of Vengeance.” Greene said the graphic was promoting an “Antifa” event next month in Washington, D.C. Twitter has since removed the post, with the company’s head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, explaining that Twitter had to automatically remove more than 5,000 tweets and retweets of the poster. “We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them,” Irwin said. “‘Vengeance’ does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok.” Irwin also wrote that Twitter “did not take a ‘strike’ approach with restricting” the tweets sharing the poster, instead only restricting the media being shared. “There is no impact to users for having tweeted it unless it is reposted after removal or was posted with additional calls for violence/ wishes of harm,” Irwin added. Using her personal Twitter account, Greene later wrote: “Twitter’s [Ella Irwin] claims no one was given a ‘strike’ for warning the American people of political violence planned at the Supreme Court. Yet my official CONGRESSIONAL account was banned for 7 days for exposing Antifa’s plan for violence on the ‘Trans Day of Vengeance.’ [Elon Musk], can you explain?”

Now we know why Elon Musk was stopped by the Twitter board

It looks like the old guard has taken control again.

Tell me again how conservatives should expect anything but suppression on Twitter.

The steps in the Democrat disaster in East Palestine from EPA trenches to the Houston solution

While trying to point to the EPA as a protector from additional chemicals, …

This NPR affiliate points out the EPA role in spreading Vinyl Chloride

Pittsburgh NPR affiliate WESA inadvertently points to the EPA role in trenching and burning Vinyl Chloride in the East Palestine train derailment. (Bolding is mine for emphasis.)

The Environmental Protection Agency sent a letter to the railroad company, Norfolk Southern, Friday, documenting contaminants that could have been released into the environment, including three that had not previously been reported. The agency also notified the company that it is potentially liable for the cleanup costs under the federal Superfund program.

Of the roughly 50 train cars that derailed on Friday, Feb. 3, about 20 were listed as carrying hazardous materials. On its website, EPA posted a list, provided by Norfolk Southern, of the chemicals in the cars involved in the derailment.

(continued)

EPA stated that “materials released during the incident were observed and detected in samples from Sulphur Run, Leslie Run, Bull Creek, North Fork Little Beaver Creek, Little Beaver Creek, and the Ohio River.” The letter also stated that materials were observed entering storm drains.

Five cars with vinyl chloride were intentionally breached, according to EPA’s letter, diverting the chemical to an excavated trench and then burning it off. The EPA states that areas of contaminated soil and liquids were “observed and potentially covered and/or filled during reconstruction of the rail line including portions of the trench/burn pit that was used for the open burn off of vinyl chloride.”

Under the Superfund program, the company is potentially liable for cleanup. EPA’s letter said it “encourages” the company to agree to reimburse the agency for costs it incurred to date and to voluntarily perform or finance the response activities that EPA determines are required.

Additionally, it seems that the many press personalities pointing fingers at Trump are misdirected

The Wall Street Journal sets us straight on several issues surrounding environmentalism, the claims of the left, the derailment, and spill in East Palestine. (Bolding is mine for emphasis.)

It’s still unclear what caused the Feb. 3 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, but Donald Trump and his opponents aren’t letting the tragedy go to political waste. The former President on Wednesday lambasted the Biden Administration’s response during a visit to the rural Ohio town, while Democrats spin a progressive parable of corporate greed.

Local public anger is boiling over amid a lack of certainty about what caused the Norfolk Southern Corp. derailment, how long it will take to clean up the disaster, and what the long-term environmental harm might be. Enter Mr. Trump, who on Wednesday donned a superman cape and handed out bottled water while denouncing Biden officials. “They were doing nothing for you,” he said. “They were intending to do nothing for you.”

(continued — Here the WSJ emphasizes Biden & non-Trump actions resulting in more train transport)

The costly rule provided marginal safety benefits, but it would have advanced the left’s anti-fossil fuel agenda: First, block pipelines. Then make it prohibitively expensive to move oil by rail. Industry groups sued, and Congress instructed the Transportation Department to re-evaluate its analysis and the Government Accountability Office to do an assessment.

(continued)

The GAO in 2016 identified myriad problems with the government’s cost-benefit analysis, and the Trump Administration rescinded the rule in 2018. There’s no evidence ECP brakes would have prevented the derailment, and the Obama rule wouldn’t have applied to the Norfolk Southern train because it wasn’t classified as a “high hazard flammable unit train.”

(continued)

Mr. Buttigieg also criticized Norfolk Southern and other railroads for deploying technology to inspect track, which labor unions oppose. Automated inspections are more efficient and can detect safety problems better and more quickly than the human eye. But Biden regulators have limited the technology’s use, and there’s no evidence it contributed to the derailment.

Mr. Buttigieg also claimed that the accident supports the need for union-backed regulations requiring a minimum of two crew-members on trains. Technology is making it safer and more efficient to operate freight trains with one worker in the cab, as many passenger trains do. Regardless, the East Palestine train had three crew members.

Three weeks later, Biden and Buttigieg still dither

And Buttigieg insists on using his “personal time” rather than going to the wreck

TMZ strays from its normal entertainment reporting to tell how Mayor Pete got curt with a reporter who continued to ask when he would fulfill his duty and go to the wreck.

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg had a weirdly tense and terse reaction when a reporter asked him about the residents suffering in the wake of the East Palestine train disaster, refusing to answer questions, saying he was on “personal time.”

Buttigieg was in Washington D.C. Tuesday, when a reporter with the Daily Caller approached him and asked what he would say to the folks in East Palestine. His response — “I’d refer you to about a dozen interviews I’ve given today, and if you’d like to arrange a conversation, make sure to reach out to our press office.”

When the reporter persisted, Buttigieg, who was walking with his husband Chasten, brushed her off, saying, “… I’m taking some personal time and I’m walking down the street.”

(Read Mayor Pete’s coup de grâce at TMZ)

This is no surprise. Biden springs to no disaster

Biden did not jump to fix the baby formula crisis. Biden has not jumped to fix inflation. Biden has not jumped to fix high gas prices (beyond draining the SPR just prior to mid term elections).

While thinking that she is delivering a crippling blow to Trump and his voters …

Joy Behar summarizes the problem that Biden voters face when dealing with this train wreck of a president

Fox News allows someone who cannot connect the dots to draw a picture of the Biden train wreck of a regime.

“The View” co-host Joy Behar lashed out at East Palestine, Ohio, residents on Thursday while blaming former President Donald Trump for the train derailment and said, “That’s who you voted for.”

“I don’t know why they would ever vote for him, somebody who, by the way, he placed someone with deep ties to the chemical industry in charge of the EPA’s chemical safety office. That’s who you voted for in that district — Donald Trump, who reduces all safety,” Behar said while pointing at the camera.

Behar also said East Palestine residents need to “look past the photo ops,” referring to Trump’s visit to the town on Wednesday, and see “who is doing the job here.”

(Read more at Fox News)

In a perverse way — in a way she did not intend — she is right. But not about Trump

Although the train wreck of a president was not at East Palestine (since he obviously is not Scranton Joe), he did send his EPA. And that EPA oversaw the draining of rail cars of vinyl chloride onto the ground (out of fear those cars would explode). Furthermore, that EPA oversaw the burning of the chemical.

Additionally, although this train wreck of a president reversed President Trump’s deregulations and has introduced a number of green-friendly regulations, what were the changes that Biden’s actions caused here?

Some outlets say that the initial wreck (not to be confused with the disaster of pouring a chemical out and burning it) was caused by an overheated bearing. Will Biden rule that all train bearings be greased on a regular schedule (although most are sealed)? That would require some sort of lubricant, which would possibly come from either the oil industries or the graphite industries (one of which he doesn’t want pumped and the other he doesn’t want mined).

So, after you consider that Biden’s actions and those of his cronies all result from the fact that Biden got into the Oval Office, then — yes, this (along with the inflation and the lawlessness and the downgraded job numbers and gaffes and the stumbling up staircases) is what someone voted for.

President Trump brings trucks of bottled water and treats crowds to a “Big Mac attack” in East Palestine

Then DOT Head Buttigieg drops his “personal time” to visit Ohio train wreck site

NewsMax reports how Mayor Pete suddenly found his legs and move over to East Palestine.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will visit East Palestine, Ohio, the site of a train derailment and chemical spill earlier this month, on Thursday, a day after former President Donald Trump’s tour of the site, NBC News reported.

“The secretary is going now that the EPA [Environmental Protection Agency] has said it is moving out of the emergency response phase and transitioning to the long-term remediation phase,” a department spokesperson said in a statement to NBC News. “His visit also coincides with the NTSB [National Transportation Safety Board] issuing its factual findings of the investigation into the cause of the derailment and will allow the secretary to hear from U.S. DOT [Department of Transportation] investigators who were on the ground within hours of the derailment to support the NTSB’s investigation.”

Trump on Wednesday visited the small town of about 5,000 people where a Norfolk Southern 150-car freight train carrying 20 hazardous material cars went off the rails Feb. 3, resulting in a massive fire and later a controlled release and burn-off of toxic chemicals such as vinyl chloride, causing a large mushroom cloud of black smoke rising over the community and the settling of the particles into the ground.

A private citizen who Democrats in Congress, White House, and liberal “law enforcement” continually demonize spurs Buttigieg into a-day-late action

So, for a Democrat, is a day late better than no action at all?

Here’s what you get when you hire a “diversity, equity, and inclusion” Secretary of Transportation

“Sorry, I lost my train of thought:” Buttigieg makes a series of errors in a timid and unprepared East Palestine appearance

The Daily Wire chronicles some of the haphazard acts relating to the train disaster (not the whole Biden regime, but the event in East Palestine).

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg finally visited the beleaguered town of East Palestine, Ohio, and his appearance was — to put it mildly — a bit underwhelming and reeked of amateurishness.

First, his press secretary did not want to be on camera as she dodged reporters, and then he made a massive verbal error during his official press conference. If he was hoping to display confidence and trust and engender goodwill amongst a town wondering where on Earth the Biden administration has been since the train derailment-turned-toxic inferno disrupted their way of life, he assuredly missed the mark.

What is likely to be a clip to be played over and over again was his moment of forgetfulness, where he had to find his words. That is normal. It happens to the best of us. But the difference is that Buttigieg is the transportation secretary on the ground responding to a railroad accident.

What he said was, “Sorry, I lost my train of thought,” before regaining his footing.

It was, perhaps, the most toxic phrase you could say on the potentially toxic ground, but it wasn’t his only mistake of the day.

Upon arriving, Buttigieg was ridiculed for his outfit choice and his decision to wear dress shoes — rather than boots — to the town:

Some might say that’s a bit of a cheap shot and not necessarily indicative of his actual response. Optics matter, though, and in contrast to former President Donald J. Trump marching through the crowd, looking in command only the day before, it’s the worst possible look for the Biden administration.

A Houston solution to the chemical spill from the Biden EPA

Texas Molecular shows up as the primary company to break down the chemicals being gathered in East Palestine

Houston ABC affiliate KTRK allows us to know of the workings of Texas Molecular and the volume of polluted water they have committed to break into its constituent parts.

In a statement sent Thursday afternoon, the EPA said, “A total of 1,715,433 gallons of contaminated liquid has also been removed from the immediate site of the derailment. Of this, 1,133,933 gallons have been hauled off-site, with most going to Texas Molecular, a hazardous waste disposal facility in Texas. A smaller amount of waste has been directed to Vickery Environmental in Vickery, Ohio.”

(Read of the voluminous complaints by liberal Lina about these chemicals being brought here at KTRK)

Over a half-million gallons were brought before the liberals in Harris County found out about it

Additionally, this plant has handled larger waste water conversions.

News that shows the Biden regime cannot quit from fail mode

The Biden regime launches an “Environmental Justice” office

The Washington Free Beacon reveals the Biden regime’s launch of its “Environmental Justice” office.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Saturday launched a new office that will be focused on the needs of minority communities overburdened by pollution and oversee the delivery of $3 billion in environmental justice grants created by the recent passage of new climate legislation.

EPA Administrator Michael Regan announced the creation of the Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights, which will be staffed by 200 EPA employees and led by a not-yet-announced Senate-confirmed assistant administrator.

He launched the new office at an event in Warren County, North Carolina, which was the site of protests 40 years ago that is regarded as the birthplace of the environmental justice movement.

“With the launch of a new national program office, we are embedding environmental justice and civil rights into the DNA of EPA and ensuring that people who’ve struggled to have their concerns addressed see action to solve the problems they’ve been facing for generations,” Regan said in a statement.

It was the latest move by the Biden administration to prioritize environmental justice in its policymaking. The Justice Department in May announced the launch of a new office to help low-income areas and communities of color battle the disproportionate impact of air and water pollution.

President Joe Biden has often cited protecting poor and minority communities from industrial pollution as a top priority and has pledged that 40% of federal clean energy investments will be channeled to the cause.

If Joe cannot get his eyes onto the real target (the economy), he always has the press to cover for him

It seems that, if bumbling Joe cannot do anything to improve the economy (or at least take steps toward doing that), he only has the main stream press to cover for him. Hopefully the alternative press will be able to pull back the curtain (as it has with these articles and the ones that find their ways into conservative blogs like Bunkerville, Not of this World, and others).

News that obviously untrustworthy due to the history of lies within Facebook

Meta says it disables the Russian and Chinese propaganda permeating Facebook

The Los Angeles Times blindly parrots the claims by Meta (formerly Facebook) as it claims to clean up its act prior to the 2022 mid-term elections.

A sprawling disinformation network originating in Russia sought to use hundreds of fake social media accounts and dozens of sham news websites to spread the Kremlin’s talking points about the invasion of Ukraine, Facebook parent company Meta said Tuesday.

The company, which also owns Instagram, said it identified and disabled the operation before it was able to gain a large audience. Nonetheless, Facebook said it was the largest and most complex Russian propaganda effort that it has found since the invasion began in February.

The operation involved more than 60 websites created to mimic legitimate news sites including the Guardian newspaper in Britain and Germany’s Der Spiegel. Instead of the actual news reported by those outlets, the fake sites contained links to Russian propaganda and disinformation about Ukraine. More than 1,600 fake Facebook accounts were used to spread the propaganda to audiences in Germany, Italy, France, Britain and Ukraine.

The findings highlighted both the promise of social media companies to police their sites and the peril that disinformation continues to pose.

“Video: False Staging in Bucha Revealed!” claimed one of the fake news stories, which blamed Ukraine for the slaughter of hundreds of Ukrainians in a town occupied by the Russians.

The fake social media accounts were then used to spread links to the fake news stories and other pro-Russian posts and videos on Facebook and Instagram, as well as platforms including Telegram and Twitter. The network was active throughout the summer.

“On a few occasions, the operation’s content was amplified by the official Facebook pages of Russian embassies in Europe and Asia,” said David Agranovich, Meta’s director of threat disruption. “I think this is probably the largest and most complex Russian-origin operation that we’ve disrupted since the beginning of the war in Ukraine earlier this year.”

The network’s activities were first noticed by investigative reporters in Germany. When Meta began its investigation, it found that many of the fake accounts had already been removed by Facebook’s automated systems. Thousands of people were following the network’s Facebook pages when they were deactivated earlier this year.

(continued)

Researchers at Meta Platforms, which is based in Menlo Park, also exposed a much smaller network that originated in China and attempted to spread divisive political content in the U.S.

Of course, this may be a shell game

As many times as Facebook has lied, worked against us, and worked for the communists, this deserves a second and third consideration before giving them slack.

News that reveals the deception inherent to Facebook

Facebook spied on private messages of Americans who questioned the 2020 election

The New York Post tells how Facebook dug into private messages that centered on rejection of the 2020 election.

Facebook has been spying on the private messages and data of American users and reporting them to the FBI if they express anti-government or anti-authority sentiments — or question the 2020 election — according to sources within the Department of Justice.

Under the FBI collaboration operation, somebody at Facebook red-flagged these supposedly subversive private messages over the past 19 months and transmitted them in redacted form to the domestic terrorism operational unit at FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, without a subpoena.

“It was done outside the legal process and without probable cause,” alleged one of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“Facebook provides the FBI with private conversations which are protected by the First Amendment without any subpoena.”

These private messages then have been farmed out as “leads” to FBI field offices around the country, which subsequently requested subpoenas from the partner US Attorney’s Office in their district to officially obtain the private conversations that Facebook already had shown them.

But when the targeted Facebook users were investigated by agents in a local FBI field office, sometimes using covert surveillance techniques, nothing criminal or violent turned up.

News that would show how easily the Biden actions would be to overturn

New lawsuit challenges the legality of Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan

Reason.com reports on a lawsuit filed against the Biden student loan forgiveness plan.

President Joe Biden’s plan to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt violates both federal law and the Constitution, according to a just-filed lawsuit from the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF), a libertarian law firm.

“This isn’t how laws are supposed to be made,” Caleb Kruckenberg, an attorney for PLF, tells Reason. “Only Congress has the power to pass laws and spend money under the Constitution. The administration’s actions here are flagrantly illegal.”

This is the first serious challenge to Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, which he announced last month. The lawsuit’s plaintiff is Frank Garrison, who’s also an attorney at PLF. Garrison borrowed federal student loans to pay for law school, but according to him, Biden’s debt forgiveness plan will actually subject him to a financial penalty in the form of a state tax. This gives him standing to sue the U.S. Education Department, his lawsuit argues.

“Despite the staggering scope of this regulatory action, it was taken with breathtaking informality and opacity,” the lawsuit claims. “In the rush, the administration has created new problems for borrowers in at least six states that tax loan cancellation as income.”

With this lawsuit being filed on 27 September 2022, I hope it will work in time

Considering the magnitude of the Biden dictum, I hope that the Supreme Court puts this on a fast track.

News that shows the naked partisanship within Biden

Biden calls Florida mayors but not DeSantis as Hurricane Ian nears

The New York Post points out how Biden called Democrat mayors in Florida but refused to call (my original wording due to the original story early in the evening of 27 September) held off a call to Governor DeSantis as Hurricane Ian approaches.

President Biden called three Florida mayors Tuesday as Hurricane Ian nears Florida’s western coast — hours before reaching out to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, with whom he has clashed on issues such as COVID-19 policies and migration.

As the devastating Category 3 storm approached, Biden first spoke with Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch and Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard. Castor and Welch are Democrats, while Hibbard is a Republican.

The president waited until Tuesday night to phone DeSantis.

The two discussed “the steps the Federal government is taking to help Florida prepare for Hurricane Ian,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “The President and the Governor committed to continued close coordination.”

DeSantis is a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate and has frequently criticized Biden’s performance.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at her regular press briefing that Biden “held separate calls” with the mayors and “discussed planning and preparation for Hurricane Ian.”

Biden “underscored his commitment to the people of Florida and made clear that impacted communities will have the full support of the federal government to augment state and local emergency response efforts,” Jean-Pierre added.

Deanne Criswell, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, joined Biden for his calls with the mayors and Criswell said Biden delegated to her the responsibility of liaising with DeSantis on Friday.

“The president directed me to contact the governor early on before we even did the declaration. I did that,” she said. “My regional administrator is with the governor right now making sure that we’re understanding what the needs are and our focus is on the current life safety needs.”

Can you imagine the backlash had George W. Bush refused to call a Democrat governor?

If Reagan had refused to deal with a Democrat governor during his last year of his presidency, would we still be hearing about it in the press?

News that shows the dictatorial tendencies of Joe Biden when he uses executive orders more than Trump

Biden-era Democrats learn to love emergency powers after hating them under Trump

The Washington Examiner lays out a case for the over-use of executive orders by Joe Biden.

A sizable group of Democratic politicians have pressured President Joe Biden to declare national emergencies on the climate and abortion rights in recent weeks, but nearly 80 of those lawmakers attacked his predecessor’s use of emergency powers.

Former President Donald Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border in February 2019 as a means of bypassing Congress and securing funding for the completion of his campaign-promised border wall. The move was heartily opposed by Democrats at the time as an abuse of executive power.

“The President’s unlawful declaration over a crisis that does not exist does great violence to our Constitution and makes America less safe, stealing from urgently needed defense funds for the security of our military and our nation,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a joint statement at the time. “This is plainly a power grab by a disappointed President, who has gone outside the bounds of the law to try to get what he failed to achieve in the constitutional legislative process.”

Even Trump’s final White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows , then a North Carolina Republican congressman and the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus , suggested Trump’s border emergency was a “slippery slope” and predicted “the potential for national emergencies being used for every single thing that we face in the future where we can’t reach an agreement.”

The House passed a bill in late February 2019 seeking to block Trump’s declaration, as outlined in the National Emergencies Act of 1976, but the measure eventually died in the Senate. Biden ended the border emergency in February 2021, shortly after entering office. A year and a half later, he is facing pressure from Democrats to invoke similar emergency powers on abortion and climate.

Eighty-three members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus sent a letter to the president and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on July 12, urging him to declare an emergency in response to “the Supreme Court’s radical and dangerous decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Sixty-eight of the letter’s signatories voted to overturn Trump’s border emergency back in 2019, and only two of the lawmakers who did not vote yes were sitting members of Congress at the time. Reps. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Steve Cohen (D-TN) both abstained from voting.

The White House is weighing declaring a public health emergency to shield doctors, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers who offer access to abortion pills in states with stringent abortion bans, but officials are reportedly concerned about the prospects that Republicans would attempt to file lawsuits over any such declared emergencies. Biden himself said he was open to reevaluating the idea during a meeting with state governors who took action to protect abortion access following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling.

Similarly, Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Ed Markey (D-MA), Alex Padilla (D-CA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Brian Schatz (D-HI), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) all called on Biden to declare climate change a national emergency this past week.

Odd how things change

Trump used the executive order to advance the wall and secure the border. Although the press loves to overlook the murders perpetrated by illegals and the damage done by border crossers (like the 2,200 deaths, 118,000 rapes, and 138,000 assaults recorded).

Now Biden wants to allow abortion (a.k.a. baby murder) up until birth in all 50 states under his (devoutly Catholic) watch.

A service for CBS (who can’t expose the lies of Joe Biden)

Deconstructing arrogance and idiocy in reporters of CBS

Admittedly, when I saw Scott Pelley of CBS and Sixty Minutes bumbling and blathering on with Biden as they walked through a mostly-empty Detroit Auto Show (as a Sixty Minutes ad), I was not intrigued. I could not care less what that doddering old fool might say or what the incurious “journalist” might ask; therefore, I never watched that once-respectable news show. However, when Bunkerville built a blog post from Miranda Devine tweets that encapsulated the interview, I started to wonder, “How many verifiable lies could CBS have caught had they been an honest news organization rather than a branch of the Democrat propaganda machine?”

Therefore, I dug into the CBS transcript and compared that to reality in order to create the following table. Thence, hopefully the top-rated journals linked in the table might expose either Joe’s lies or his incompetence.

Pelley/Biden exchange Headlines disproving Biden
Scott Pelley: Sir, with the Federal Reserve rapidly raising interest rates, what can you do to prevent a recession?
Joe Biden: Continue to grow the economy. And we’re growing the economy. It’s growing in– in a way that it hasn’t in years and years.
The Wall Street Journal reports in a 28 July 2022 article that Biden faces recession worries after six months of economic contraction
The Daily Mail informed us in a 21 August 2022 article that 97% of US executives believe US is now in a recession or close to one, despite Biden’s denials

Biden should consider the common voter

Biden’s statement does not stay in touch with the reality that people who pump gas or buy food have to experience. Wake up, Joe and Scott.

Scott Pelley: Mr. President, first Detroit Auto Show in three years. Is the pandemic over?
Joe Biden: The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with COVID. We’re still doing a lotta work on it. It’s– but the pandemic is over. if you notice, no one’s wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape. And so I think it’s changing. And I think this is a perfect example of it.
Politico says in a 17 August 2022 article that HHS says it plans to extend Covid-19 public health emergency
ABC News point in a 19 September 2022 article to Democrats who buck Biden’s case for the pandemic being over due to pandemic aid

Too many powerful groups (including cheating Democrats) will stand against this

I’m sorry, but I cannot believe that the Democrat machine that Biden has set up in pharmaceuticals, education, and the voting systems will go away that easily. I don’t believe that people will let the money that was allocated be turned to something out of their control.

Scott Pelley: Have you been briefed, sir, on the top-secret documents that were found at Mar-a-Lago?
Joe Biden: No.
Scott Pelley: No one has come to you to warn you that important national security secrets were revealed by the storage of those documents at the former president’s home?
Joe Biden: I have not personally spoken to anyone on that– in that regard. I’m sure my administration is aware of all of that, and so is the National Security Council. But I have not.
Scott Pelley: were you notified of the FBI’s execution of a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago?
Joe Biden: No. Not ahead of time.
The New York Post outlines in a 23 August 2022 article What did Biden ‘really’ know about the drive to raid Mar-a-Lago?
Fox News quotes a former Supreme Court clerk who says in a 24 August 2022 article that “It’s not believable” Biden didn’t know about FBI raid

Biden has attended too many briefings for me to believe this

If all other presidents since Lincoln have had daily briefings on the events occurring within their administration, why wouldn’t that happen with Dementia Joe and his FBI? Even if you ignore the report from the New York Post, I just don’t buy the idea that he was not involved.

Scott Pelley: Which leads to my next question. You are more aware of this than anyone. Some people ask whether you are fit for the job. And when you hear that, I wonder what you think.
Joe Biden: Watch me. And ma– honest to God, that’s all I think. Watch me. If you think I don’t have the energy level or the mental acuity, then– then, you know, that’s one thing. It’s another thing, you just watch and– and, you know, keep my schedule. Do what I’m doing. I– I think that– you know– I don’t– when I sit down with our NATO allies and keep ’em together, I don’t have ’em saying, “Wait a minute, w– how– how old are you? What are you– what say?” You know, I mean, it’s a matter of, you know, that old expression: The proof of the pudding’s in the eating. I mean, I– I– I respect the fact that people would say, you know, “You’re old.” And– but I think it relates to h– how much energy you have, and whether or not the job you’re doing is one consistent with what any person of any age would be able to do.
The New York Post showed us in a 14 April 2022 article and video how Biden shakes hands with thin air after North Carolina speech
The New York Post shows in a short video how Joe Biden trips again as he goes up the stairs to Air Force One

Inserting a video of Biden stammering would be overkill

But I do like SocialistMop.

Scott Pelley: What should Chinese President Xi know about your commitment to Taiwan?
Joe Biden: We agree with what we signed onto a long time ago. And that there’s one China policy, and Taiwan makes their own judgments about their independence. We are not moving– we’re not encouraging their being independent. We’re not– that– that’s their decision.
Scott Pelley: But would U.S. Forces defend the island?
Joe Biden: Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented attack.
The New York Post reports in a 19 September 2022 article that Biden says US troops would defend Taiwan; White House backtracks remarks
The New York Post pointed out regarding a previous flub (23 May 2022) that White House walks back Biden Taiwan defense claim for third time in 9 months
Politico reported in a 23 May 2022 article that Biden’s Taiwan defense pledge inflames U.S.-China relations

A little push back would have been nice

Even if they provided only half of the push back that they gave to President Trump when he mentioned the proven hoax started by Hillary, I might start to watch them for 10 minutes. But I will not watch Sixty Minutes.

Mass shooting and self-defense news made silent by mass media

Bad news for the anti-gun lobby

Armed bystander hailed as hero (but not by the main-stream media)

Indianapolis, Indiana NBC affiliate WHTR reports that a good guy with a gun put down the perpetrator of a mass shooting (where three or more people were shot and killed in a single event).

At 5:57:03 p.m., Elisjsha Dicken, an armed bystander, fired on the shooter from 40 yards away, according to police. Within 15 seconds from when the shooting began, Dicken fired 10 rounds hitting the shooter as the shooter tried to retreat into the bathroom but collapsed and died.

(Read of the thug who killed three others and more of the hero who stopped him at WHTR)

Oddly, unlike the Uvalde event that happened two months ago, this story has not been picked up by the main stream media

Unlike the Uvalde event, where we are getting nightly reports on how dissatisfied the local population has become with the situation, we hear nothing of this story on main stream media.

However, with the numbers of felons being released by Democrat district attorneys and the flood of drugs across our border, this problem proliferates to a degree unimaginable for many. Still, if you want proof, do a search (or three, as with this post) and see what stories you find. Just make certain to use a different search engine for each search (for most complete results).

A good person with a gun defends freedom from a knife-wielding intruder

An 80-year-old woman shoots and kills young intruder after he stabs her husband

The Washington Post conveys the story of a Sultan, Washington woman who was forced to defend herself and her son after her husband was stabbed.

Age is nothing but a number.

An 80-year-old woman in the small town of Sultan, Wash., proved that Thursday night when she shot and killed an intruder who broke into her home.

At the moment, details are thin.

A man from Gold Bar, Wash. — a town of about 2,000 — broke into the woman’s home around 8:30 p.m. Thursday while she was enjoying an evening with her husband, 75, and son, 45. According to a Komo News report, police said the man broke in through the back door. After hearing a noise, the woman walked into the back room, where the 25-year-old intruder stood, wielding a large knife.

Her husband was on the ground.

The intruder had stabbed her husband in the abdomen, felling but not killing him. Before calling 911, the woman took matters into her own hands, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. She snuck in the back bedroom, presumably unnoticed, where she grabbed a gun she hides there.

She returned to the main room, took aim and fired several shots into the intruder, killing him.

She and her son managed to escape without any injuries, authorities said. Her husband was airlifted to the Harborview Regional Medical Center.

(Read of the drug-related motive for the stabbing at the Washington Post)

Whoever voted for the open borders of Biden voted for this drug epidemic

Let’s be clear: everyone who voted to open the Southern border to unchecked entry also voted for this drug epidemic.

If you don’t like Mexican opioids and Chinese synthetic opioids flooding the streets of your small town, then don’t vote for a Chinese/Mexican/Ukrainian/Russian-connected politician.

Another good person with a gun stops a thug with a knife

“I know I did the right thing:” Customer shoots and kills armed robber at gas station

Saint Louis, Missouri NBC affiliate KSDK tells us how a customer stepped in to stop an armed robber holding a knife to the clerk’s neck.

Most people would try to run away from a robbery situation, but one customer felt called to run toward it.

His courageous effort ended in a deadly shooting, which possibly saved more lives than the one lost.

“Taking somebody’s life is not an everyday thing, neither is saving someone’s life,” the customer, who wished to remain anonymous said.

Those thoughts now consume his mind after not only witnessing an armed robbery Saturday morning at a St. Charles QuikTrip but also stepping in to stop it.

“He grabbed a backpack and ran inside, looking for I guess the clerk. I saw him grab her and drag her to the front to the counter, something wasn’t right when I saw that, so me being concealed carry, I had my gun on me and I just waited,” the customer said.

The customer saw it all unfold from his car, parked in front of the QT on First Capitol Drive.

“I walked up to the door and I saw him with a knife to her throat. She was emptying out the cash register and I took a step in and peeked my head in to ask if everything was okay. I couldn’t see his face but he was saying yes, but I could see her face she was saying no, she was scared,” he said.

Police named the robbery suspect 26-year-old Lance Bush from St. Louis City. “I pulled my gun up and I asked him are you sure everything’s okay and that’s when the suspect said ‘no it’s not okay, but I got something for you and he grabbed his bag, ran from around the counter and started running towards me and that’s when I fired shots,” the customer said.

He recalls shooting four times before Bush fell to the floor. Shortly after he told the clerk to call the police, he did as well.

“I don’t think I honestly had a choice. He already had a knife at her throat, he could’ve pulled out something bigger than what I had then you would’ve had two people dead instead of one,” he said.

(Read of the robber’s crime spree at KSDK)

Despite the obvious evil of the robber, the “journalist” ends with one dig

Despite the following facts:

  • The robber was holding a knife to the neck of a female clerk while robbing the gas station
  • The robber had stolen a vehicle to get to the gas station
  • The robber had threatened and was running at the hero when the robber was shot
  • The robber was suspected of having committed two other armed robberies that morning

Still, the “journalist” ends with:

The customer was detained and released.

At this time, he says he has not been charged.

Anti-gun bias, much? Wish for heroes to be punished and criminals released, much?

The lack of media confidence finally gets recognized

A year ago, Americans were showing their distrust in media

The US ranks last among 46 countries in trust in media

A Poynter article dated 24 June 2021 reports on a Reuters survey that found little trust among Americans when it came to print and broadcast media.

The United States ranks last in media trust — at 29% — among 92,000 news consumers surveyed in 46 countries, a report released Wednesday found. That’s worse than Poland, worse than the Philippines, worse than Peru. (Finland leads at 65%.)

The annual digital news report from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford also found some improvement in trust in nearly all the countries surveyed — probably thanks to COVID-19 coverage — but not in the U.S. where the low rating was flat year to year.

One explanation, though not necessarily the only one, is the extreme political polarization in the U.S. This study, like many others, found extremely high levels of distrust — 75% of those who identify as being on the right thought coverage of their views is unfair.

Local news, both print and broadcast, fared better than national news. However, the findings for struggling local print outlets were not all good.

Interest in local news and willingness to pay for it was not strong. Only 21% in the U.S. said that they pay for news online. Of those who do, 31% said they pay for The New York Times, 24% for The Washington Post and only 23% for the site of a local or regional paper.

The most popular local news topic, by a wide margin (62%), was weather. Staples of local newspaper coverage like politics (33%) and education (16%) lagged. Those surveyed indicated a preference for local broadcast (52%) as a source over newspapers (16%).

As of the coronavirus media coverage, surely the shine had to come off from media

Because such a stark difference between reporting on coronavirus and observable reality (as could be seen by driving by hospitals), surely only the lazy and the really gullible continued believing the Democrat narrative.

After this year’s poll, the media starts to catch on

A Gallup poll indicates trust in television and newspapers has dropped to historic lows

Gallup reports that an annual poll of 1,005 respondents found that our trust of television and newspapers has fallen to record lows.

  • 16% of Americans have a great deal/quite a lot of confidence in newspapers
  • 11% have some the degree of confidence in television news
  • Democrats’ confidence low but higher than Republicans’, independents’

Americans’ confidence in two facets of the news media — newspapers and television news — has fallen to all-time low points. Just 16% of U.S. adults now say they have “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in newspapers and 11% in television news. Both readings are down five percentage points since last year.

Gallup has tracked Americans’ confidence in newspapers since 1973 and television news since 1993 as part of its annual polling about major U.S. institutions. The latest readings are from a June 1-20 poll that saw declines in confidence ratings for 11 of the 16 institutions measured and no improvements for any.

Television news and newspapers rank nearly at the bottom of that list of institutions, with only Congress garnering less confidence from the public than TV news. While these two news institutions have never earned high confidence ratings, they have fallen in the rankings in recent years.

A majority of Americans have expressed confidence in newspapers only once — in 1979, when 51% did. But there is a wide margin between that and the second-highest readings of 39% in 1973 and 1990. The trend average for newspapers is 30%, well above the latest reading of 16%, which is the first time the measure has fallen below 20%. The percentage of Americans who say they have “very little” or volunteer that they have no confidence is currently the highest on record, at 46%.

Confidence in television news has never been higher than its initial 46% reading in 1993 and has averaged 27%, considerably higher than the current 11%. This is the fourth consecutive year that confidence in TV news is below 20%. And for just the second time in the trend, a majority of Americans, 53%, now say they have very little or no confidence at all in TV news.

(Read more at Gallup)

When their reporting did not line up with observable reality, what did they expect?

When the main stream media focused on stories that only supported their narrative, did they not expect Americans to seek out alternative sources and stop trusting the newspapers / Democrat TV news? When the most recent hire at the TV station reported the latest “surge” of coronavirus (that didn’t pack hospitals that we pass to and from work), did they expect we would just accept their word?

It seems that main stream media’s Katy Tur has started to feign some introspection. Maybe some actual soul searching that involved review of the bias on main stream media shows might have convinced a few of us.

https://twitter.com/PouncerNC_USA/status/1548697805669236739

One other thing that might make American news consumers a little less jaded would be if the media stopped covering staged “events” as real news (like where AOC acts like she is being handcuffed at a protest in front of the Supreme Court when no handcuffs were present).

https://twitter.com/beyondreasdoubt/status/1549453298289229827

The best part is how AOC exposes her fraud by raising her fist 10 seconds into doing her fake “perp walk.” Not even the most dedicated in the Democrat press can cover for these idiots.

Even more reasons I have tuned out of main stream media

The press will not show the whole picture (since it hurts Democrats)

Forbes reported how Biden might forgive student load debt, but leaves out the way this will fuel more inflation.

Warren and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who both have championed up to $50,000 of student loan forgiveness, are still pushing Biden to cancel that amount of student loan debt for millions of student loan borrowers. Civic and social organizations have joined in the fight to encourage Biden to consider a higher amount of student loan cancellation. According to the latest student loan debt statistics, there are 45 million student loan borrowers who collectively owe $1.7 trillion of student loan debt.
Therefore, canceling $50,000 of student loans would cancel all federal student loan debt for the vast majority of student loan borrowers. In contrast, the U.S. Department of Education has said $50,000 of student loan forgiveness would eliminate all federal student loan debt for 36 million student loan borrowers.

Student loan forgiveness: key benefits of $50,000 of student loan cancellation

According to researchers from Princeton and the University of California, who conducted this analysis, there are multiple other benefits of higher amounts of wide-scale student loan forgiveness. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • $50,000 of student loan forgiveness would help 95% of student loan borrowers who are in student loan default or student loan delinquency;
  • More student loan cancellation overwhelmingly benefits lower-wealth student loan borrowers because wealthier individuals rarely borrow or pay off student loan debt faster; and
  • Canceling $50,000 of student loans will reduce disparities and inequalities substantially.

When it comes to student loan forgiveness, the authors argue that more student loan cancellation is better for advancing equity and economic security. Opponents of student loan forgiveness beg to differ, citing the potential cost of $1 trillion to cancel $50,000 of student loans for borrowers. They also note that potentially millions of student loan borrowers could be excluded from Biden’s student loan forgiveness.

Why not title this “Biden tosses another log into the inflation fire”

Or why not title this “Giving a break to college liberals on the backs of the working class.”

Both titles (along with a number of others) would fit, since no consideration finds its way into this article on either:

  • The inflationary tendencies of throwing more and more money at institutions incapable of restraining themselves
  • The inequity of having everyone (including hourly laborers) pay through taxes toward loans for college students

From the beginning of the Uvalde shooting, events of the timeline kept changing

Houston CBS affiliate KHOU illustrates how the story kept changing in order to protect two endangered species: the small-town Democrat and the truth.

Official details of the Uvalde school shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers have changed several times.

We went back through official press conferences to hear what facts were given out over the last 10 days.

Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pete Arredondo gave this brief statement following the shooting on Tuesday, May 24:

“At approximately 11:32 this morning there was a mass casualty incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas”

Later that day, school officials were still not giving any details.

“This is a tragic even in our community. We are very sorry that we cannot provide more information,” said Uvalde CISD Executive Director of Communications and Marketing Anne Marie Espinoza.

The following day, on Wednesday, Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas DPS provided more details, which the governor later said he was misled about, of what happened at the school the day before.

“It is a fact because of their quick response getting on the scene being able to respond to the gunman and eliminate the gunman they were able to save lives,” said Gov.Abbott on Wednesday, May 25.

“As the Governor mentioned earlier, there was a brave Consolidated Independent School District resource officer that approached him, engaged him and at that time gunfire was not exchanged but the subject was able to make it into the school,” said Texas DPS Director/Colonel Steven McCraw that day.

“When the shooting began we had Uvalde police officers arrive on scene and along with the Consolidated Independent School District officers immediately breached – because we know as an officer every second’s a life,” McCraw continued that day.

The next day, Thursday, May 26, the story started to change, according to officials.

“I want to clear up… that came out early on. It was reported that a school district police officer confronted the suspect that was making entry… not accurate. He walked in unobstructed initially,” said Victor Escalon, the Regional Director for DPS South Texas, in a press conference.

On Friday, May 27, DPS told us how the shooter got into the school…

“Suspect vehicle crashes into the ditch – as previously described the teacher runs to the room 132 to retrieve a phone and that same teacher walks back to the EXIT door and the door remains propped open,” said McCraw.

And the initial story about the response to the shooting drastically changed surrounding how quickly police were able to stop the shooter after he entered the school at 11:33 AM.

“As soon as they were there they executed a search – or at least a dynamic entry and went in and of course that was not until 12… 12:57,” McCraw said on May 27.

“From the benefit of hindsight where I’m sitting right now of course it was not the right decision. It was the wrong decision. Period.” McCraw went on to say.

The same day Gov. Abbott responded…

“The information I was given turned out to be in part inaccurate, and I’m absolutely livid about that,” he said.

Other articles have revealed other unimportant discrepancies; however, three truths remain

I could link to additional stories telling how the school police chief did not have his radio or how officers were prevented from entering the building; still, these truths remain:

How does Marcy’s Law fit in to justice inequity for the Right? Also, when will 6 January protesters get Antifa treatment?

Rittenhouse prosecutor told police not to execute search warrant signed by judge to view Grosskreutz’s cell phone

The American Thinker commented on 5 November 2021 how the Kenosha County prosecutor did not execute a search warrant signed by a judge to search the phone of the man who pointed a gun in the face of Kyle Rittenhouse before Kyle defended himself by shooting this man in the arm.

On August 25, 2020, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, armed with an AR-15 and a medical kit, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin to offer first aid and protect businesses against looting and arson.  By evening’s end, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber were dead, and Gaige Grosskreutz had a hole in his arm.  Rittenhouse is now being tried for murder, although he claims — and video evidence and witness testimony confirm — he acted in self-defense.

The trial started this week, and it’s been sufficiently fascinating, thanks to mismanaged evidence (including FBI wrongdoing) and an incompetent prosecutor, to merit a short review.  These are some highlights.  Andrew Branca’s superb posts at Legal Insurrection have more details.

On Tuesday, assistant D.A. Thomas Binger committed a fundamental error: he misrepresented the evidence, almost all of which is captured on film.  Thus, he asserted that Kyle shot “unarmed” victims.  In fact, Grosskreutz was aiming a gun at Kyle when Kyle shot him; Huber was trying to beat Kyle to death, or decapitate him, with a skateboard; and Rosenbaum was trying to steal Kyle’s gun.

Also on Tuesday, news broke that the FBI had failed to share evidence with the defense and then “lost” some of that same evidence.  Although the testimony wasn’t televised, Branca writes:

I did learn later that apparently the FBI had possessed both the low resolution aerial video shared with prosecutors, and a high-definition version of the same video.  To the outrage of the defense, however, it was discovered today that the high resolution version of the video had been “lost” by the agency.

Reportedly even Judge Schroeder was left aghast at the possibility that the FBI had tossed away evidence relevant to a homicide case, but beyond that I don’t have any substantive knowledge of how all this played out.

Wednesday’s most interesting story also involved mishandled evidence.  Rittenhouse made available to the prosecution the contents of his cell phone.  He had nothing to hide.

Things were different went it came to Gaige Grosskreutz’s phone.  Grosskreutz was the man who simultaneously stuck a gun and his phone, with the camera working, into Kyle’s face when Kyle shot his arm.

Police investigators obtained a search warrant for Grosskreutz’s phone, which would certainly have contained material evidence.  Bizarrely, though, the police did not serve the warrant, did not seize his phone, and never tried to gain access to the contents.

The very young detective in charge of the case conceded that this was the only time in his experience at the Kenosha P.D. that the police did not serve a search warrant for a phone download.  The reason given was “Marcy’s Law,” which protects victims of crimes from invasive investigations.  So Grosskreutz, who stuck a gun in Kyle’s face, was framed as a “victim” from day one.  However, the detective admitted that, in his experience, the police had never before used Marcy’s Law to prevent a search warrant for cell phone evidence.  The police also didn’t record their interview with Grosskreutz, another anomaly in a department that recorded everyone’s interviews.

Why did the Kenosha prosecutor use Marcy’s Law to avoid collecting evidence?

Have liberal prosecutors made it a habit to use Marcy’s Law to avoid collecting evidence that would lead to the arrest of their witnesses? As PJ Media pointed out in a 15 November 2021 article, it was not Kyle Rittenhouse who illegally possessed a gun that night.

GaigeGrosskreutzInTweetByAndyNgoIt turns out that the only ones illegally possessing guns that night were Gaige Grosskreutz and Joshua Kiminski. But, of course, they’re not charged with those crimes. Just the kid is.

News outlets — looking at you, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and cronies — have continually asserted that Rittenhouse illegally brought a gun “over state lines” to Kenosha when he and friends were asked to guard a business during the third night of riots.

He was accused of bringing that gun to “hunt humans,” but that wasn’t true. The gun Rittenhouse used that night was stored at a friend’s dad’s house and locked in a gun safe in Kenosha until the 17-year-old used it that night.

Seems like this pretty much proves that the prosecutor did not do a review of the facts and determine who was innocent and who was guilty. Rather, he started from the viewpoint of finding a way to prove this kid guilty. Because this kid had been cleaning up graffiti in a minority community and was standing guard over a local business before he was attacked, I can’t say whether the prosecutor would have gone after other kids who had been doing similar things.

But, obviously, the prosecutor did not go after the felon adults.

For a number of years, accusations have been levelled at police for purportedly using this law to hide the identities of possibly errant police. In most states, that issue was addressed through a tightening of the wording in the law.

That type of attention needs to focus on the current inequity between the lax enforcement of the liberal side and the cruel and unusual punishment inflicted on many of the political right.

Meet Ray Epps: the Fed-protected provocateur who appears to have led the very first 6 January attack on the U.S. capitol

Revolver used a 25 October 2021 article to point out how the FBI seems to have insulated Ray Epps (a person who seems to be central to the 6 January 2021 riots).

In a House hearing on Thursday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) questioned AG Merrick Garland about a mysterious man, Ray Epps, instructing protesters to enter the US Capitol building on January 5, and who later shepherded crowds towards the Capitol on January 6.

The story of the mystery man, Ray Epps, featured in Rep. Massie’s video above is in fact far more shocking than even the good Congressman implies in the hearing. It’s a story so strange, and so scandalous at every turn, that it threatens to shatter the entire official narrative of the “Capitol Breach” and expose yet another dimension of proactive federal involvement in the so-called “insurrection” of January 6th.

If Revolver News’s previous reporting points to a proactive role of the federal government in relation to the conspiracy cases against Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, the Ray Epps story that follows suggests a similar, yet more egregious, explicit, direct and immediate degree of federal involvement in the breach of the Capitol itself.

Here is a transcript of Thomas Massie’s exchange with the Attorney General, just in case you skipped past the video above.

Rep. Massie: As far as we can determine, the individual who was saying he’ll probably go to jail, he’ll probably be arrested, but they need to go into the Capitol the next day, is then directing people into the Capitol the next day, is then the next day directing people to the Capitol. And as far as we can find. You said this is one of the most sweeping in history. Have you seen that video, or those frames from that video?

AG Garland: So as I said at the outset, one of the norms of the Justice Department is to not comment on pending investigations, and particularly not to comment on particular scenes or particular individuals.

Rep. Massie: I was hoping today to give you an opportunity to put to rest the concerns that people have that there were federal agents or assets of the federal government present on January 5 and January 6. Can you tell us, without talking about particular incidents or particular videos, how many agents or assets of the federal government were present on January 6, whether they agitated to go into the Capitol, and if any of them did?

AG Garland: So I’m not going to violate this norm of, uh, of, of, of, the rule of law.

[Looks down and away]

I’m not going to comment on an investigation that’s ongoing.

There is good reason why AG Garland ran from Massie’s question faster than he could find words — and why he couldn’t even keep eye contact as he was dodging Massie’s gaze.

After months of research, Revolver’s investigative reporting team can now reveal that Ray Epps appears to be among the primary orchestrators of the very first breach of the Capitol’s police barricades at 12:50pm on January 6. Epps appears to have led the “breach team” that committed the very first illegal acts on that fateful day. What’s more, Epps and his “breach team” did all their dirty work with 10 minutes still remaining in President Trump’s National Mall speech, and with the vast majority of Trump supporters still 30 minutes away from the Capitol.

Secondly, Revolver also determined, and will prove below, that the the FBI stealthily removed Ray Epps from its Capitol Violence Most Wanted List on July 1, just one day after Revolver exposed the inexplicable and puzzlesome FBI protection of known Epps associate and Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes. July 1 was also just one day after separate New York Times report amplified a glaring, falsifiable lie about Epps’s role in the events of January 6.

Lastly, Ray Epps appears to have worked alongside several individuals — many of them suspiciously unindicted — to carry out a breach of the police barricades that induced a subsequent flood of unsuspecting MAGA protesters to unwittingly trespass on Capitol restricted grounds and place themselves in legal jeopardy.

I don’t know whether Epps and the other unindicted individuals were FBI informants or just recipients of mercy via Marcy’s Law

One thing is certain when you look at the way the FBI treated Epps (and other unindicted individuals who took part in the 6 January 2021 event). That one evident thing is that America certainly has two levels of justice.

This two-tiered justice system needs to end.

And you know what? Since this centers so much on the protest that sticks as a sore point to the sore winner (or, possibly, the touchy cheater) Democrats who cannot take protests (but love to dish it out across Kenosha, Portland, Seattle, and all sorts of other Democrat-controlled cities where they let Antifa run wild), Joe Biden needs to put this on his list of things to actually get accomplished.

If Dementia Joe is really an American and not a Chinese puppet, then he needs to step up and act like an American. He needs to work for justice.
