Four stories on the problems of Mayor Pete Buttigieg

  1. Buttigieg Says He Won’t Be ‘Lectured On Family Values’ By Rush Limbaugh Or Trump Supporters

The Daily Caller points out that Mayor Pete has rejected the criticism of various people.

MayorPete2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said Sunday that he will not be “lectured on family values” by the likes of radio host Rush Limbaugh or Trump supporters.

The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor spoke on “Fox News Sunday” with anchor Chris Wallace, who brought up separate comments Limbaugh and “America First” host Sebastian Gorka made on Feb. 12 about Buttigieg’s stances on abortion and electability.

“A gay guy, 37 years old, loves kissing his husband on debate stages. Can you see [President Donald] Trump have fun with that?” Limbaugh asked, while Gorka questioned, “Why is a homosexual man lecturing us about the sanctity of life in the womb? Just a little curious there, strange.”

“What is your reaction to those comments?” Wallace asked Buttigieg.

The gay presidential candidate responded: “I am in a faithful, loving, committed marriage. I’m proud of my marriage, and I’m proud of my husband.”

He added:

And I’m not going to be lectured on family values from the likes of Rush Limbaugh or anybody who supports Donald J. Trump as the moral as well as political leader of the United States. America has moved on, and we should have politics of belonging that welcomes everybody. That’s what the American people are for. And I am saddened for what the Republican Party has become if they embrace that kind of homophobic rhetoric.

This seems like a return to the times before the Israelite kings and the times of the Proverbs

This does seem like a return to the times of the Septuagint. You see, in the days before the kings, “every man did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6 NASB). Likewise, Solomon observed this binary nature of the paths we can take:

Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts. (Proverbs 21:2 NASB).

Like the men of those earlier times, Mayor Pete only wants to do things his way. He would rather ignore the counsel of both the Old and New Testaments concerning homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Timothy 3:2-3; 1 Timothy 1:8-11; and Jude 1:5-8). Likewise it seems that he would ignore the verses limiting marriage to one man and one woman (such as Matthew 19:4-6). Like many others, Buttigieg would like to focus on a a message that offers the love and forgiveness of God without requiring repentance. Sorry to say, but that adulterates the entire message of the Bible. Therefore, this has become one step too far.

You might ask why anyone would bother pointing out this discrepancy. Normally, politicians build coalitions based on shared goals of various groups they may claim allegiance. In this case, Buttigieg claims to be a Christian. Mind you, this type of Christianity falls outside of most Christian orthodoxy. Nonetheless, it would seem that an aspiring politician would do everything to build commonalities between himself and the large groups. Not so in this case, which does not seem so wise — which brings up back to Solomon.

Solomon also reminded us:

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. (Proverbs 12:1 NASB).

It seems to me that Mayor Pete might want to listen to someone who does not exactly mirror his own views.

  1. Buttigieg Scorns Pro-Life Votes

Lifezette reports that Mayor Pete calls for Democrat purity on the pro-abortion topic.

ButtigiegScornsProLifeVotesAt a Fox News town hall appearance on Sunday Democrat presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, IN, read out of his party anyone who supports the rights of the unborn and who disdains infanticide.

He instead hoped they could work together on other issues, he responded to a pro-life Democrat who queried him on the matter.

Democrats for Life of America leader Kristen Day said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday, “But I would first of all say that when I asked him the question, I didn’t ask him where he stood on abortion. And the fact that he took that opportunity to double down and sort of alienate pro-life Democrats even further just showed me that he did not — he does not want our vote. And, you know, I’m willing to discuss platform language with, but…he could say that and reinforce that he is pro-choice and…let’s find ways that we can work together,” Day also said.

“The people will have to go to the polls and decide, but I know for sure a lot of Democrats did not go out and vote for Hillary Clinton because of her extreme stance on abortion,” Day concluded.

If Buttigieg and Bernie want to turn their backs on pro-life votes, there is room elsewhere

If Mayor Pete and Senator Sanders would like to make commitment to abortion a Democrat litmus test, then I wish them all the power they need. There is room in the conservative ranks for debate on various issues and we can welcome any degree of pro-life supporters that want to join.

  1. Media Ignores Buttigieg Refusing To Say He Does Not Support Infanticide

The Daily Caller points out how other outlets have ignored Mayor Pete’s refusal to say he does not support infanticide.

Establishment and liberal media failed to cover a presidential candidate refusing to say he does not support infanticide.

2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg refused to come out against late-term abortion or infanticide Thursday, speaking to The View’s Meghan McCain. Yet establishment and liberal media, including CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, HuffPost and Vox, did not cover Buttigieg’s remarks. None of these publications responded to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

McCain reminded Buttigieg that he once suggested unborn babies can be aborted up until they draw their first breath, and offered Buttigieg a chance to walk back the statement.

Buttigieg said “it shouldn’t be up to a government official to draw the line. It should be up to the woman.” When McCain pressed him on this, specifically asking if he would be comfortable with a situation where a “woman wanted to invoke infanticide after a baby was born,” Buttigieg still didn’t distance himself from infanticide.

(Read more at the Daily Caller)

Does anyone expect the media to come out against a Democrat?

I cannot express any surprise that the media that carried San Fran Nan’s message of “it’s for the children” now kow-tows to the abortion until birth mantra.

  1. Queer community isn’t happy with Mayor Pete

Townhall points out that Buttigieg doesn’t hold universal support among the gay community.

The LGBTQ community in San Francisco isn’t happy with former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg. They feel as though he fails to represent their community. On Friday, two protestors were booted from a fundraiser at the National LGBTQ Center for the Arts for attempting to ask him a question. When it became obvious that they were protestors, supporters began chanting “Boot-Edge-Edge! Boot-Edge-Edge!”

“I’m definitely proud of the fact that a gay candidate has made it thus far, but it’s hard to enjoy or appreciate when his stances are so middle of the road and speak to a predominantly white, upper class audience,” Celi Tamayo-Lee, one of the women who was kicked out of the event, told The Guardian.

Those who feel he’s too moderate take issue with Buttigieg not supporting Medicare for All, free college tuition, his issues with the black community and his ties to billionaire donors. There are issues that don’t impact the LGBTQ community as a whole but impact individuals who are also queer.

While I have seen the purity test play out in the Tea Party, I have seen it even more in liberal groups

Over the past few years, it seems that many liberal groups have called for ideological purity (refer to Bernie’s call and Buttigieg’s call for abortion purity). Hence, I expect this to continue and certain groups to tear themselves apart.

To those who find themselves victims, please hear this: every person was made in the image of God. All of us have messed something up, but each of us can be forgiven when we ask for that forgiveness.

Ten stories on moments of liberal epiphany

  1. ‘In my day, if you went up to a guy’s hotel room, you knew exactly why you were going’: Kathy Bates on #MeToo

The Daily Caller quotes Kathy Bates as she points out several obvious points about the #MeToo Movement.

Kathy Bates

Kathy Bates weighed in on the #MeToo era and said back in her day if a woman “went up to a guy’s hotel room, you knew exactly why you were going” there.

“About people like [Harvey] Weinstein and the casting couch and all of that,” the 71-year-old actress shared with the Guardian in a piece published Friday.

“I have a confession,” she added. “In my day, if you went up to a guy’s hotel room, you knew exactly why you were going and in those days it was consensual.”

Bates continued, “Times were different, but I really support the women who are coming forward now and I’m not happy about the men who are being accused falsely – but the ones who deserve all they’re getting, my feeling is hey, go for it.”

“The Waterboy” star went on to explain that though she was never seen as the classic starlet, she still experienced misogyny’s pigeonholing.

As long as there are humans, there will be sinners

While this is not quite a Joseph moment where the young man in the story escaped temptation by running away from its presence, it does show that we need to be self-aware of the real situation.

Do not desire her beauty in your heart

Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids. For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And an adulteress hunts for the precious life. (Proverbs 6:25‭-‬26 NASB)

She caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me!” And he left his garment in her hand and fled, and went outside. (Genesis 39:12 NASB)

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22 NASB)

Maybe this is Bloomberg’s version of a truth-in-advertising admission

  1. Mike Bloomberg ad uses Obama-era footage of caged migrants to criticize Trump

As we see in the Daily Caller article of 3 February 2020, “Mike” Bloomberg showed his stripes by deceptively using footage that has incorrectly been attributed to President Trump.

Bloomberg_aliens

Mike Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City and contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, released an anti-Trump campaign advertisement that included footage of caged migrants in 2014 — during the Obama era.

The Bloomberg campaign released an ad that was meant to highlight unflattering events that have occurred during the Trump administration, such as the white nationalist march in Charlottesville, Virginia, the aftermath of a Florida school shooting, the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, and immigration enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“America demanded change and change is what we got,” a narrator said in the ad, which then led to a montage of footage, supposedly all taken during the Trump presidency.

The campaign took direct aim at the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement measures, clipping images of Border Patrol agents doing their job and featuring footage of detained migrants. However, a review by the Daily Caller News Foundation found that one still image used in the ad was taken in 2014 — during the Obama administration.

Bloomberg-Campaign-Ad

By using this footage, Bloomberg may be admitting that the US will return to the Obama economic malaise and other Obama policies

Or maybe he wants to point back to the lackluster energy economy that was only bolstered by the beginnings of the fracking boom. Otherwise, the nation would have seen the gasoline prices of the late G. W. Bush years.

Two stories where Democrats acted like Republicans

The Democrat ghost of Jeb Bush

‘Come On!’: Buttigieg Tells Audience To Clap For Him In Awkward Video

In a 21 January 2020 Daily Caller article, we see how Pete Buttigieg had his “Jeb Bush” moment and had to cajole his audience to applaud.

buttigieg-please-clap
“Come on”

Democratic 2020 candidate Pete Buttigieg had to instruct audience members to clap for him in an awkward moment on the campaign trail Tuesday.

Buttigieg asked audience members at an Iowa campaign event if he “can look to you to spread that sense of hope to those that you know?” The room went silent as the audience neither clapped nor applauded in response to Buttigieg’s question.

“Come on!” Buttigieg said, motioning with his arms for the audience to cheer.

The awkward moment immediately drew comparisons online to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s much-mocked “please clap” gaffe during the 2016 Republican primary.

(Read more at the Daily Caller)

Since the main stream media thought that the final 2016 match would be Hillary Clinton versus Jeb Bush, a month’s focus was on Jeb’s “Please clap”

However, since the media now hasn’t decided whether to focus on octogenarians Warren or Sanders (or to go with the gay socialist Mayor Pete), they have pretty much ignored this “Come On” moment.

1998 Fatter Jerry Nadler argued against impeachment

In 1998, a fatter Jerry Nadler went to bat for a president who had lied to a court and said that “we do not want to impeach a president unless he is a tyrant.”

Further, as shown by the above clip taken from an anti-impeachment rally, this fatter Nadler noted that:

An impeachment of a president is an undoing of a national election and one of the reasons we all feel so angry about what they are doing is that they are ripping from us — they are ripping asunder our votes. They are telling us our votes don’t count and that the election must be set aside.

Five things that may warm conservatives’ hearts

  1. The case of AOC (the good side of gerrymandering)

Townhall informs us through a 31 December 2019 article how the 2020 census may cause AOC’s district to be redrawn.

AOCWe’ve heard this could be a possibility for quite some time: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s House district could be redrawn based on the 2020 census. And as Beth noted, New York is projected to lose one seat. This has not caught the fiery left-winger off guard. AOC has been known this could be a potential problem. It also highlights why Democrats threw a tantrum when the Trump administration proposed the very noncontroversial change to the 2020 census by including a citizenship question. In AOC’s district, almost a quarter of its residents are noncitizens. As expected, the areas that will be heavily impacted are Democratic bastions. It strikes at the heart of their political power and roadmap to obtaining control. Coddle these groups of people together and use them to create more districts favorable to Democrats based on ethnic representatives. Democrats have had phenomenal success doing this, hence the reason why they’re lax on border security, endear themselves to illegal immigration, and bash federal authorities tasked with enforcing laws in this area, hence the targeting of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents as the Gestapo in these circles.

(Read more at Townhall)

Considering that we often find it very hard to get rid of incumbents, this might be the best news for that district

Even Senator Menendez has been returned to office after being “severely admonished” (not even censured) for his receipt of gifts (something normally called bribery). Therefore, getting AOC gerrymandered out of her seat may be a real blessing.

Hopefully, a few miracles of removal will happen with Tlaib and Omar (if that is Omar’s current last name).

  1. One Democrat takes up a campaign-killing cause: Buttigieg Calls For Carbon Pricing: ‘So Important’

Since Democrats think that they pay way too little for gasoline, we find through a 31 December 2019 Daily Caller article that Pete Buttigieg has been calling for a carbon tax.

PeteButtigieg2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg called for carbon pricing at a campaign event in Davenport, Iowa.

The South Bend, Indiana, mayor said Monday that Americans need to do the “right thing here at home,” adding that “that’s why carbon pricing is so important.”

(Read more at the Daily Caller)

The carbon tax, beside taxing an essential commodity, works as a multi-tier tax

This carbon tax not only will hit every citizen (and, therefore, cripple the poorest among us the most quickly), but also does so on multiple levels. You see, the tax will hit the manufacturer several times during creation phase of the product. Then the tax will pop up several times in its trip to market. Depending on what type of product has been created, the carbon tax may continue to apply.

Do you think that this will have an effect on the economy? You had better bet your bippy that it will.

Additionally, carbon tax will hit more things than just gasoline. It will also impact the price of diesel used to tun the local electric car charging station. Carbon tax will hit you in the stove if your house has a natural gas (methane) stove or heater. Do you burn heating oil? Guess what this will jack up?

Finally, do you buy anything that has been delivered to a store?

With a leading Democrat taking this position (that works against the working class and the poor), conservatives can take comfort that the Democrat causes do not work. Additionally, the Democrat causes have the potential of killing jobs. This should be pointed out and the “independent” voter should be made to think through their vote.

  1. Trump’s agenda of helping minority communities is a ‘policy legacy’

Townhall points out in a 30 December 2019 article that President Trump’s agenda of helping minority communities will create a ‘policy legacy.’

CBS News’ Major Garrett applauded President Donald Trump and his administration for making strides to help minority communities. According to Garrett, Trump’s successes are a “legacy” that “almost any president would want to claim.”

Garrett named a number of the administration’s successes, including funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the passage of the FIRST STEP Act, which focuses on helping inmates reenter society and slow the recidivism rate.

Donald Trump“It can be fairly said that this administration, because of President Trump’s quiet prodding, has done quite a bit for funding of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The FIRST STEP Act, which was a massive first step towards criminal justice reform…” Garrett explained. “Just a couple weeks ago in this newly-signed defense bill there is a law that says if you are seeking work for the federal government or any contractor, you don’t have to be asked – and you can’t be asked – about your criminal history until right toward the end. That’s a significant change long sought by criminal justice advocates. Plus opportunities owned in the tax bill directed at communities of color.”

“That is a legacy, on the agenda side, that almost any president after three years, would want to claim,” Garrett concluded.

(Read more at Townhall)

Considering how the welfare system set up by President Johnson destroyed the Black family and still built a legacy, President Trump’s actual reduction of Black unemployment should build a legacy

In other news, it was announced that the unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics again reached historic lows. When you consider that this law give people a chance to sell their skills before they can be asked about the criminal past that they are trying to work beyond — this allows people to work beyond their mistakes and seek forgiveness.

  1. Southern Hispanics for Trump

In what seems to be a follow-on article to the above presentation, Townhall details why Southern Hispanics have come to support President Trump.

hispanicsfortrump_gettyThe Democratic Party is great at capturing the minority vote. In fact, the Democrats have been great at telling Hispanics, African Americans and women that they should automatically vote for the Democratic Party. People are finally waking up and realizing that their values align more with the Republican Party than the Democrats. And that has people campaigning hard for President Donald Trump’s reelection efforts.

“I look at President Trump as the one who most closely represents my values,” 65-year-old Ray Baca, the Chairman of Border Hispanics for Trump, told CNN.

“People will hear that and say ‘Values? What values does the president have.’ So when you say ‘values,’ what do you mean?” CNN’s Nick Valencia asked.

“I mean supporting things that I support, like being against abortion, being for limited government involvement, being for border security,” Baca explained.

Valencia asked how Baca could support Trump even though he has “said racist things about the Hispanic community.” But Baca disagreed.

“We don’t think he’s said things that are racist,” the Trump supporter replied.

For all the liberal forgiveness that the journalists once stood for, they now seem to stand for judgemental pharisee-ism now

In this case, the “journalist” tries to badger the interviewee into an anti-Trump position. Since this so closely matches the format used nightly by the main stream media, this will continue to work for those who have identified media bias and against the media itself (and, therefore, will also work against the Democrats who the media so staunchly support).

  1. Denver Sticking To Sanctuary Policy Following Arrest Of Hit-And-Run Suspect Who Was Already Deported Six Times

The Daily Caller points out how Denver has been sticking to it sanctuary policy following the arrest of an illegal alien on hit-and-run charges.

Denver officials do not plan on fully cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if they release an illegal alien who was deported six times before getting arrested for fleeing the scene of a deadly hit-and-run accident.

Juan-SanchezJuan Sanchez, a Mexican national living in the U.S. illegally, is accused of striking a pedestrian in the Denver area with a vehicle and immediately fleeing the scene. If Sanchez — who lives in a state that largely limits cooperation with ICE — is able to make bond, his release back into the community could pose another showdown between local officials and federal immigration authorities.

The City and County of Denver reiterated its position on transferring custody of illegal aliens when approached by the Daily Caller News Foundation about Sanchez’s case.

A Colorado woman, Annette Conquering Bear, was running an errand Dec. 17 when an oncoming SUV struck her while she tried to cross an intersection. The vehicle drove away without stopping, according to the Denver Police Department. A witness to the accident flagged down a nearby ambulance, but Conquering Bear was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement was able to locate the vehicle, a white GMC Sierra crew cab truck, and arrest its driver, Sanchez. The 39-year-old Mexican national was charged with vehicular homicide and fleeing the scene of an accident. Officials set his bond at $500,000.

ICE revealed Sanchez carries an extensive list of immigration violations that spans nearly two decades. Not only is he living in the U.S. illegally, but he was deported from the country six times: once in 2012, three times in 2008, and twice in 2002. It’s not immediately clear how Sanchez was able to make so many unauthorized re-entries into the U.S., which is a felony under federal law.

Colorado’s state government, which is under the control of the Democratic Party, has become increasingly antagonistic toward federal immigration authorities. Gov. Jared Polis, for example, signed into law in May legislation that prohibits local law enforcement from detaining a suspected illegal alien solely on the basis of an ICE request, prohibits officers from providing an illegal alien’s personal information to ICE, and requires police to read illegal aliens their Miranda rights when coordinating an ICE interview.

Given Sanchez’s repeated violations of U.S. immigration law, the DCNF asked Denver’s government if it would allow for a coordinated transfer with ICE, should Sanchez make bond. The DCNF received the following response:

“Pursuant to the Public Safety Enforcement Priorities Act, when the Denver Sheriff Department receives a request for notification from ICE the inmate is advised of their rights upon receipt and prior to release. We fax Ice notification of release when the individual enters into the release process. It is the responsibility of ICE to take the individual into custody. We do not do any secure handoff and do not participate in the transfer unless an incident would occur that would threaten the safety of the community.”

(Read more at the Daily Caller)

Where do you go for support — not to the Democrats

When you want equal justice under the law, where do you go? Do you go to the party who exempts illegal aliens from the law? Do you go to the party who forces Baronelle Stutzman and Jack Phillips to violate their consciences to provide services?

Do you go to the party who denied an fair process (from numbers of witnesses to ability to be represented) throughout the House impeachment process and then cried for another chance to cheat?

Eight non-impeachment stories that could jump up and bite one or more Democrats

  1. Unfit To Print Episode 32: Media Scrambles To Retract Obama’s Immigration Record

The Daily Caller points out how the media scrambled to retract Obama’s immigration record when they discovered that they had incriminated Obama rather than Trump.

Media outlets discovered they received misleading data from the UN this week, but instead of correcting their stories, they erased them entirely.

On this week’s episode of Unfit to Print, Amber Athey explains why AFP and Reuters retracted articles claiming the U.S. has 100,000 children in migrant detention centers after they found out that statistic is from 2015, when President Barack Obama was in office.

The story apparently wasn’t as important when it couldn’t be used to attack President Donald Trump!

(Read the rest at the Daily Caller)

Odd that there were no retractions, no corrections

Since they could not continue their 95%+ negative reporting on Trump and would have to point out that the reporting would have to bring down their demi-god Obama, they tried to just sweep it under the rug.

Since we regularly see the main stream media (the ones that are rarely quoted here because they do not report on issues critical of Democrats) relentlessly attack conservatives and then lob softballs at Democrats, there can be no wonder why few trust journalists.

  1. Elizabeth Warren Denied Sending Her Kids To Private School, Despite Sending Son To Elite Private School

Daily Caller points out another bald-faced lie by Lie-a-watha, Liz Warren when she told a woman that she (Warren) only sent her kids to public school.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren denied sending her children to private schools, despite the fact that she sent her son to an elite private school.

When school choice activists confronted her after a campaign rally Thursday, Warren said her children didn’t go to private schools.

“We are going to have the same choice that you had for your kids, because I read that your children went to private schools,” one activist told Warren. “No, my children went to public schools,” the Massachusetts senator replied.

But publicly available records show Warren, who has pledged to crack down on school choice if elected, chose to send her son Alexander to Kirby Hall, an elite private school in the Austin area, as the Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported. Kirby Hall’s 1987 yearbook lists Alexander Warren among the school’s fifth-graders.

(Read more at the Daily Caller)

If Ms. Warren wants to reach minority communities, she might want to consider supporting charter schools

Charter schools have enjoyed a strong support among a number of minority communities (possibly since they provide a way out of the failed inner-city schools). Therefore, if Ms. Warren has more kinship with the poor than with the education bureaucracy, she might want to reconsider her blind support of the Department of Education as the Democrats have imagined it.

  1. Former Harry Reid Staffer Jabs Buttigieg: ‘Sneaky Pete’ Only Got 8,500 Votes in His Last Election

Breitbart went to a Harry Reid staffer who observed that Buttigieg only got 8,500 votes in his last election. This could be a problem during an election where Democrats have hemorrhaged voters.

Democrats continue ripping Mayor Pete Buttigieg for only earning 8,500 votes in his last campaign for re-election as the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana — which has a population of roughly 100,000 people.

Former Deputy Chief of Staff to Sen. Harry Reid Adam Jentleson mocked Buttigieg on Friday after the mayor released a new ad against giving tuition-free college education for children of wealthy parents.

“A guy who received a total of 8,500 votes in his last election now wants to be POTUS because he believes in his own ambition above all else,” he wrote on Twitter.

Jentleson called Buttigieg “Sneaky Pete” for throwing ideas embraced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders “under the bus” for a position that was more “consultant-tested.”

The attack against Buttigieg’s weak voter draw was also deployed by Democratic strategic Alexis Grenell in April as proof that sexism was “alive and well in 2020.”

Buttigieg frequently cites his election in a midwestern city within the red state of Indiana as proof he can appeal to all voters.

But South Bend is overwhelmingly Democrat, thus explaining the low voting numbers. The last time the city elected a Republican mayor was in 1964.

(Read more at Breitbart)

Buttigieg not only cannot connect with current Black Democrats and lost his share of voters in successive elections, he was (as shown from the above article) elected by a small group

As opposed to the theme that Buttigieg has promoted where he was repeatedly elected as a popular Democrat mayor, it seems that Buttigieg slipped into the office because of voter apathy.

  1. College students Fainting From Starvation in Venezuela’s Failing College System

Socialism’s reality does not work well

The Union Journal notes how Venezuelan college students have been fainting from hunger as they study in the college system.

Tons of of kids filed into their college courtyard to listen to a neighborhood Catholic bishop lead prayers for his or her schooling.

“We pray for the youths who’re on the streets and may’t come to highschool,” mentioned Bishop Jorge Quintero, addressing the Augusto D’Aubeterre Lyceum college within the seaside city of Boca de Uchire on a steamy morning in October. “There are a number of them.”

By the tip of the 15-minute ceremony, 5 youngsters had fainted and two of them have been whisked away in an ambulance.

The faintings on the major college have turn into a daily prevalence as a result of so many college students come to class with out consuming breakfast, or dinner the evening earlier than. In different faculties, youngsters wish to know if there’s any meals earlier than they resolve whether or not to go in any respect.

“You possibly can’t educate skeletal and hungry folks,” mentioned Maira Marín, a trainer and union chief in Boca de Uchire.

Venezuela’s devastating six-year financial disaster is hollowing out the varsity system — as soon as the satisfaction of the oil-rich nation and, for many years, an engine that made the nation one of the upwardly cell within the area. These faculties prior to now supplied youngsters even in distant areas with a strong shot on the nation’s greatest universities, which in flip opened doorways to high American faculties and a spot amongst Venezuela’s elite.

Starvation is simply one of many many issues chipping away at them now. Thousands and thousands of Venezuelans have fled the nation in recent times, depleting the ranks of scholars and academics alike. Most of the educators who stay have been pushed from the career, their wages made practically nugatory by years of relentless hyperinflation. In some locations, barely 100 college students present up at faculties that after taught 1000’s.

The collapse of the schooling system in Venezuela is just not solely condemning a whole technology to poverty, however dangers setting the nation’s improvement again many years and severely stunting its development potential, specialists and academics say.

“A complete technology is being left behind,” mentioned Luis Bravo, an schooling researcher on the Central College of Venezuela in Caracas. “In the present day’s schooling system doesn’t permit youngsters to turn into significant members of society.”

The federal government stopped publishing schooling statistics in 2014. However visits to greater than a dozen faculties in 5 Venezuelan states and interviews with dozens of academics and oldsters point out that attendance has plummeted this yr.

Since AOC has spent all of her tenure in Congress trying to make socialism sexy, this starvation stuff throws a wrench in those works

Of course, there have been numerous, changing stories from AOC. First, she told us that socialism was the way to go. Then she told us we would all die if we did not get a handle on climate change. Next, she mocked those who had believed her climate change lies by saying that she had been joking. Following that, her chief-of-staff revealed that the Green New Deal was nothing but a pathway to socialism.

  1. Illegal Alien Returns to U.S. After Killing Four American Kids in 2008

Breitbart relates the account of an illegal alien who killed four American children, was deported, and has now returned.

An illegal alien woman returned to the United States soon after being deported for killing four American children in a 2008 school bus crash in Cottonwood, Minnesota.

Olga Marina Franco del Cid, a 35-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, was found guilty for 24 charges including four counts of criminal vehicular homicide after she ran a stop sign on February 18, 2008 and killed 13-year-old Jesse Javens, 12-year-old Reed Stevens, nine-year-old Emilee Olson, and nine-year-old Hunter Javens.

The four children Franco del Cid killed were among 28 students on a school bus at the time, 14 others of which were injured in the crash.

In October 2008, Franco del Cid was sentenced to just 12 and a half years for the children’s deaths. By April 2016, she had served only eight years in Minnesota and was set free. Immediately on release she was turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency and deported from the U.S. in May 2016.

Sometime between late 2016 and 2019, ICE officials said Franco del Cid returned to the U.S. and was living less than three hours away from where she had left those four children dead in 2008.

  1. Elizabeth Warren Announces Three Major Freshman Democrats as Co-Campaign Chairs

Breitbart reported in a 23 November 2019 article how Liz Warren has sought out the inexperienced, socialist representatives as support.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) added three significant freshman Democrats — Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Katie Porter (D-CA), and Deb Haaland (D-NM) — as co-chairs of her campaign, she announced on Friday.

While the majority of the ultra-leftist “Squad” endorsed Warren’s fellow contender and ideological similar Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Warren landed an endorsement from Pressley, who hails from her home state, and secured the backing of freshman Democrats Porter and Haaland.

  1. Follow the money from rich Chinese to Democrats to see how this bill came to be

House Passes Bill Opening Backdoor Immigration Route for Wealthy Chinese

Breitbart reports in a 6 December 2019 article on a follow-the-money issue for Democrats.

The House quietly passed a bill on December 3 to crack open a backdoor route for wealthy Chinese to buy their way into U.S. citizenship by lending money to the U.S. real estate industry.

Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) portrayed the bill as a boost to trade between the United States and Portugal. But the bill allows wealthy Chinese to get into the United States after first buying Portuguese citizenship.

“Congress is getting duped. … [The bill is] creating a new path for Chinese people,” said one Capitol Hill source.

Wealthy Chinese can buy “golden visa” citizenship from Portugal’s government in as little as 35 days. If House bill H.R. 565 is approved by the Senate and becomes law, then the new Chinese citizens of Portugal will be able to move into the U.S. by getting E-1 Treaty Trader or E-2 Treaty Investor renewable visas.

Cicilline’s office declined to comment to Breitbart News.

The bill may have a lot of hidden support in the Senate because it could provide a band-aid fix for the backlogged EB-5 program.

The EB-5 program allows wealthy foreigners to buy green cards by lending money to U.S. businesses, mostly to real estate investors. But the money inflow has shrunk because immigration law seeks to promote diversity among immigrants by capping the annual share of EB-5 green cards that can be bought by people from each country, such as China or India. This “country cap” rule means that new Chinese EB-5 buyers must wait more than ten years to get delivery of their backlogged green cards.

This week, Franco del Cid was arrested by ICE in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The illegal alien may face between 10 to 20 years in prison for illegally re-entering the U.S.

13 Stories of Religious Discrimination in the U.S.

  1. Christian School Hit with SWAT-Style Raid, CA Demands They Allow Sexual Exploration or Be Shut Down

According to a 7 June 2019 Christian Broadcasting Network article, one California Christian school has been subjected to over-the-top oppression by way of the educational bureaucracy of California.

arthurjohnson

A Christian school in California is facing a huge battle with the state.

Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) is representing River View Christian Academy in northern California. The school was raided earlier in the year, SWAT style, by the state.

According to PJI, the raid was carried out by 16 armed law enforcement from California Highway Patrol, two canine units and 17 social workers. Students and staff were horrified by the sudden and unexpected attack.

teenrescuelogo_si

The state was misled into thinking that the school was harboring illegal drugs, amassing ammunition, and preparing for doomsday.

RVCA works under the ministry Teen Rescue, which has offered programs for struggling teenagers in need of full-time supervision and redirection since 1989. Students are taught to focus on their education, change destructive behavior and strive for success.

Even though results from the raid did not uncover any apocalyptic, end-times type of scenario, the state has not stopped and is fining the school daily with claims of improper licensing.

The state is now saying that, due to recent legislation, it is no longer possible for a private boarding school to operate without a considerable amount of licensing and oversight by the Department of Social Services.

With the increase in licensing, the Christian school would have to abandon their biblical values. The state requires that licensed facilities allow students to have the right to engage in spiritual and sexual exploration, which contradicts the standards set by RVCA and the morals of many parents, the Pacific Justice Institute said.

PJI attorney Kevin Snider says the school is being targeted because it’s part of a ministry for at-risk youth.

  1. WA Supreme Court Doubles Down to Punish Christian Florist, Despite What US Supreme Court Ruled

We find through a 7 June 2019 Christian Broadcast Network article that the case of Baronelle Stutzman has returned to the SCOTUS queue. Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled against the state and the “progressives” in the Washington state courts have maintained that they did not act with prejudice against Baronelle Stutzman, now the Supreme Court gets to weigh the case a second time.

arlenes_flowers

The case of a Washington state florist who was fined for refusing to make a floral arrangement for a gay wedding in 2013 could go back to the US Supreme Court.

On Thursday, the Washington state Supreme Court stood by its earlier ruling against Baronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers.

As CBN News reported last year, the US Supreme Court had rejected Washington’s previous ruling, ordering the state justices to review their decision against Stutzman and consider whether they violated her religious rights.

“We now hold that the answer to the Supreme Court’s question is no,” Washington Supreme Court justices decided on Thursday. “The adjudicatory bodies that considered this case did not act with religious animus when they ruled that the florist and her corporation violated the Washington Law Against Discrimination … by declining to sell wedding flowers to a gay couple.”

Stutzman’s case is similar to that of the 2018 Masterpiece Cakeshop case, in which Colorado baker Jack Phillips was accused of discrimination for refusing to bake a customized wedding cake for a gay wedding.

Like Stutzman, Phillips offered to sell the couple his pre-made products. Like Stutzman, he had also provided previous service to LGBT individuals. But they both say their faith prevents them from creating art that specifically endorses same-sex weddings.

The Supreme Court ruled in Phillips’ favor because it said the Colorado Civil Rights Commission acted with animus towards Phillip’s religious beliefs and was in the wrong. However, critics of the decision argued that the Supreme Court’s ruling was too narrow, and did not ultimately answer if Phillips can be compelled to produce a product for a customer in violation of his religious beliefs.

The US Supreme Court asked the state court to review Stutzman’s case again to make sure it did not act with religious animus towards her in its ruling.

The state court said Supreme Court gave “full and fair consideration” of Stutzman’s case without “animus toward religion.”

“They did not act with religious animus when they ruled that such discrimination is not privileged or excused by the United States Constitution or the Washington Constitution,” Thursday’s ruling said.

Now the US Supreme Court has the opportunity to review Stutzman’s case once again to finally settle the unanswered questions about religious freedom in Phillips’ case.

Meanwhile, Stutzman’s attorneys say Washington state did target her unfairly for her faith, pointing to another instance in which the state ignored discrimination against Christian clients, creating a double standard.

(Read more at the Christian Broadcast Network)

That this can be debated for a third time in the halls of the Supreme Court while the First Amendment still reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …” while the state of Washington levies its fines on this person’s religious freedom seems quite a contradiction.

  1. A shift in who is worshiped may drive persecution of Christians

Allie Stuckey: Society Has ‘Exchanged the God of Scripture for the God of Self’

In a recap of a presentation at the Young Woman’s Leadership Conference, an interesting perspective of Allie Stuckey has been related through a 7 June 2019 Breitbart article that tells us that America has exchanged the God of Scripture for the god of self.

Allie-Stuckey

Conservative commentator Allie Stuckey spoke at TPUSA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit Friday afternoon and deconstructed society’s embrace of godless narcissism.

Stuckey told the large crowd of young conservatives that women are “probably the most targeted group by deception than any other group” in the country.

We are told in a very dogmatic and bullying way that– not just to be a good person, not just to be a decent human being, but to be a woman– you’ve got to be a die-hard feminist. You’ve got to be for on-demand abortion. You’ve got to be for the radical leftist feminist agenda, or else you’re not a female at all.

She said many women have been fooled by one monstrous lie: “That you are all that matters.”

Far too many women have been sucked into society’s embrace of what Stuckey dubbed “trendy narcissism.”

“We are told that the only thing that matters is that you love yourself,” she said.

“We’re told that there are no rules. There are no principles. There are no standards that you have to abide by,” she continued.

This belief, Stuckey says, is fundamentally flawed and partially responsible for the current state of cultural decline. It is incredibly difficult to have a civil debate with people who have essentially become their own gods, Stuckey said.

When you believe that you are the center of your universe, you believe that you are your own god. And if you believe that you are your own god, that means you determine your own truth– that you determine your own morality, that you determine your own purpose.

“When everything is subjective, things get very confusing,” she added.

Subjective truth is one of the main issues in the modern era, she said. She pressed that too many women have based their reality on their own version of truth, part of which is the mass embrace of selfishness– a hallmark of the feminist left.

“If you live as if your only purpose is yourself– your only purpose is making yourself happy– you will end up lonely and miserable,” Stuckey said.

I believe that Ms. Stuckey has hit a chord that would explain why America has been singing the tune it has held onto for the past few years.

  1. 85-Year-Old Widow Forced Out of Apartment Due to Religious Activities

A 5 June 2019 Christian Broadcasting Network article informs us of an 85-year-old widow who was forced from the apartment that she had been living in for 14 years because she had been sharing her faith and offering to pray for people.

elderlyreadingbible_hdv

The state of California is investigating a case in which an elderly widow was reportedly forced to leave her apartment due to her religious convictions and advanced age.

Diana Martin had lived at the Windgate Village Apartments in Hanford for nearly 14 years. Back in February, the 85-year-old was told by the owner John Draxler that she was being evicted. Draxler also serves as the city’s vice-mayor.

Even though Martin had months remaining on her year-to-year lease and her rent was fully paid, the Pacific Justice Institute says Draxler cited her religious activities—sharing her faith and offering to pray for people—as reasons why she must find a new home.

The owner knew Martin was recovering from severe health problems. When she began to cry, protesting that it was winter and she had no children living nearby, Draxler reportedly told her that was not his problem.

During a follow-up conversation with Martin’s son, Draxler allegedly repeated the religious objection about Martin and her age. The widow had moved to the apartments because they had been marketed as senior living dwellings.

Draxler purchased the apartment complex a few years ago and has reportedly brought in younger tenants, removing older ones. Martin reluctantly moved out of her apartment. She then contacted the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) for help.

PJI attorneys were astonished at what they found. Besides the discriminatory reasons offered for the eviction, PJI says the notice given to Martin was clearly defective as to its timing. After talks stalled with Draxler, PJI filed a discrimination charge with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

Add=itionally, I read in a Fox News article that Ms. Martin is a widow of a veteran and had been forced out of a community of similarly-aged widows of vets.

  1. U.S. Bishops Call for ‘Religious Freedom’ in Face of Persecution

Breitbart tells us in a 1 June 2019 article how U.S. Catholic bishops have reacted against the federal Equality Act, state laws restricting religious adoption agencies, and worldwide persecution.

Bible

The United States Bishops are calling for prayer and action “in support of religious liberty at home and abroad” during Religious Freedom Week, which will run from June 22 to June 29.

“Catholics face challenges both in our current political climate of polarization and within the Church,” said Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, the chairman of the Bishops’ Committee for Religious Liberty. “Christian child welfare institutions and Catholics in public life are encountering significant obstacles to their work, while our brothers and sisters in places like Nigeria suffer violent persecution.”

In referring to problems “Christian child welfare institutions” face, Archbishop Kurtz was referencing numerous recent legal conflicts regarding Christian adoption and foster care facilities whose traditional understanding of the family has not yielded to contemporary attempts to redefine marriage and family.

Last December, for example, New Hope Family Services, an evangelical Christian adoption agency in Upstate New York, came under fire from child-welfare officials who insisted that New Hope had to agree to place children with same-sex couples, contrary to its religious beliefs and decades-old policies.

The bishops have declared:

Boston, San Francisco, the District of Columbia, and the state of Illinois have driven local Catholic Charities out of the business of providing adoption or foster care services—by revoking their licenses, by ending their government contracts, or both—because those Charities refused to place children with same-sex couples or unmarried opposite-sex couples who cohabit.

The bishops have also stated that the Equality Act being pushed by the Democrat party, which would add the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the definition of sex in federal civil rights laws, “would devastate the core ministries of a wide range of religious groups, especially those ministries that serve the most vulnerable.”

Kurtz’s mention of “violent persecution” of Christians in Nigeria referred to the slaughter of hundreds of Christians by Islamist radicals in north central Nigeria in the first months of 2019. Despite a mainstream media blackout of the massacres, Fulani jihadists went on a killing spree of Christians, murdering more than 120 in just three weeks and leaving scores more injured.

The United States bishops have called religious liberty “our first, most cherished liberty,” and have said that it is “among the proudest boasts of the Church on these shores.”

The Trump administration has also made a point of restoring conscience protections to religious believers. The president declared January 16, 2018, “Religious Freedom Day” and pledged his ongoing defense of religious liberty.

Students-praying

A former Ph.D. candidate at Purdue University claims that he was forced out of the program for his Christian faith.

In a column for The College Fix, Corey Miller explains how he was forced to leave his Ph.D. program at Purdue University by peers and faculty members who taunted him over his Christian faith.

Miller recalled receiving prank phone calls in the early morning hours. When he picked up the phone, Miller heard his classmates mocking him for his Christian faith. The next semester, a leftist professor accused him of having several mental illnesses.

I entered the PhD philosophy program at Purdue University in 2004. Six weeks in I was shocked that I was receiving prank calls at 3 in the morning from fellow grad students. They were mocking me for my faith. The next semester I recall receiving a permanent note in my file from a Marxist professor who claimed I was schizophrenic. While he was not a clinical psychologist capable of judging me schizophrenic, he believed religion was the opiate of the masses and that my beliefs were delusional.

  1. Pete Buttigieg’s Pastor Brother-in-Law Blasts ‘False Narrative’ in WaPo Report Smearing Him as ‘Bigot’

The Christian Broadcast Network demonstrates in a 24 May 2019 article how the press wants to paint all Christians as bigots.

Standing in the living room of his home — the same space in which he recently led his middle brother Dustin to Christ — Rhyan Glezman, brother-in-law to Pete Buttigieg, lamented the “unfortunate” way a journalist for The Washington Post crafted a recent story that made him seem “homophobic.”

Several weeks ago, sitting in his office at Clio Community Church in Michigan, Rhyan said his phone rang. It was a reporter from the Post eager to talk with him about his brother Chasten’s marriage to the popular 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful.

“I actually talked with them for about 35-40 minutes, shared the whole story,” Rhyan, a pastor, told Faithwire during a phone interview Thursday afternoon. “They took a couple little quotes out of that whole 40 minutes and it obviously was to fit their narrative, just to be honest.”

The 34-year-old minister, who told the Post he is opposed to same-sex marriage, said he felt like the journalist, Ellen McCarthy, was trying to make him come across to readers “like a bigot.”

Rhyan reached out to Faithwire Thursday morning, asking to “talk about the full story that the Washington Post left out.” And according to him, the story the outlet “left out” is quite different from the one McCarthy wrote.

While Chasten recalled to McCarthy a journey fraught with alienation and shame, Rhyan remembers something entirely different. The 29-year-old political spouse said there was a lot of judgement when he came out as gay to his family, claiming to remember one of his brothers uttering, “No brother of mine …” during the conversation with his mom and dad, both of whom are nominally Catholic and were, according to Rhyan, very accepting of Chasten’s orientation. Chasten told McCarthy his parents eventually embraced him.

“That was a long time ago, but that’s not what I would say. That’s not my character, that’s not my brother’s character,” Rhyan said. “Nobody ever rejected him at all. … I would say they embraced him even deeper.”

Chasten also told the Post he was homeless for a season — a claim Rhyan vehemently rebuffed, saying his brother was “never, ever” rejected.

This will only be reported through the mainstream press when it fits their agenda (or when they let pieces of the truth slip out).

  1. Change Your Faith, or Else: Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Equality Act’ Will Make Religious Freedom Less Equal

How the ‘Equality Act’ lifts Transgender Rights and Homosexual Rights over Women’s Rights and the First Amendment

The Democrat agenda has mapped out a conflict between sexual identity and a number of other elements of American society, as reported by the Christian Broadcasting Network in a 9 May 2019 article.

Just days before the midterm elections, now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) vowed from Harvard University to make passing the “Equality Act” one of her top legislative priorities — and she wasn’t bluffing.

The House Judiciary Committee voted last week to advance the deceptively named “Equality Act,” which, according to the conservative legal nonprofit Alliance Defending Freedom, “gives people of faith an ultimatum: Change your faith-based practices or face government punishment.”

If the proposal is approved — which isn’t out of the question, given it has 240 co-sponsors — the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Fair Housing Act would both be amended to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, public education, federal funding and the jury system.

The bill would, among a whole host of other things, reverse the Trump administration’s effort to protect employers who object to covering abortion services on religious grounds, a shift away from a controversial policy advanced by the Obama White House.

Actually, this proposed law lifts LGBTQ+ rights over both free speech and religious rights.

  1. Are Buttigieg’s rants against Pence a preview of Democrat treatment of Christians?

Although John Nolte titles his 8 May 2019 article “Mean Little Mayor Pete Buttigieg Is Terrible at Christianity”, I would suggest that Buttigieg’s treatment of V.P. Pence provides us a preview of the treatment in store for Christians should “Mayor Pete” become President or Vice President.

Pete-Buttigieg

Mean Little Pete Buttigieg is so terrible at Christianity he reminds me of a sitcom character, secular Hollywood’s version of a pious prig who continues to put his foot in his own sanctimonious mouth. Actually, he reminds me of Frank Burns. All that’s missing is the laugh track.

This is what he told the Today Show Monday.

I think it’s also important that we stop seeing religion used as a kind of cudgel as if God belonged to a political party. If he did, I can’t imagine it would be the one that sent the current president into the White House.

In the first sentence, the Mean Little Mayor says religion should not be used as a cudgel, and in the next sentence he turns religion into baseball bat spiked with poison nails to bludgeon President Trump with.

This isn’t the first time Buttigieg has pulled this clumsily transparent rhetorical trick. Check this out from last month:

I’m reluctant to comment on another person’s faith, but I would say it is hard to look at this president’s actions and believe that they’re the actions of somebody who believes in God. I just don’t understand how you can be as worshipful of your own self as he is and be prepared to humble yourself before God. I’ve never seen him humble himself before anyone.

I’m reluctant to comment on another person’s faith, but let me spend the next four weeks calling everyone a terrible Christian except for me, cuz I’m an amazing Christian who lives like Jesus — and, hey, remember that time Jesus told all those lies about Mike Pence?

Buttigieg fancies himself a Christian, and I’m not here to examine what’s in his heart, his sincerity is unknowable, but he is terrible at practicing the Faith. I mean, truly terrible. Christians are supposed to strive to be like Christ and while we all fall short, through his actions Buttigieg has proven himself to be a lying bully and a total prick.

Did Christ tell Buttigieg to lie about Vice President Mike Pence, a lie so brazen even the phony fact checkers at the Washington Post could not find a way to make it true?

I think you will find Buttigieg’s current diatribes against Pence to be a foreshadowing of how he will treat other Christians. Hopefully, we won’t have to find out what a Buttigieg regime would be like.

  1. Yale Law School Pulls Funding from Students Working with Christian Organizations

Considering that Yale and other Ivy League universities were set up to train preachers for America, the 2 April 2019 report from Breitbart telling us that Yale has effectively made it impossible for students who work with Christian organizations to finish their degrees really disappoints.

Yale-Law-Sterling-Building

Yale University has decided to pull funding from students who work with Christian non-profit legal organizations including the Alliance Defending Freedom.

According to a report from The Federalist, Yale Law School announced a new policy in March that will effectively pull funding from students who work with Christian public interest groups. At law schools around the country, students that work for non-profit legal organizations are often eligible for a stipend from their university. This practice encourages students to pursue noble non-profit work despite the lack of pay.

Earlier this year, one of Yale University’s LGBT groups demanded that the law school pull financial support from students who work with Christian public interest groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). The push came in the aftermath of a campus event featuring an attorney from ADF who spoke about the Masterpiece Cakeshop case in which a Christian baker was asked to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.

Federalist contributor and Yale Law School student Aaron Haviland reported on Monday that Yale had caved to the demands of the students. On March 25, the school announced that students who work with organizations that allegedly discriminate based on LGBTQ identity.

On March 25, one month after the controversy, Yale Law School announced via email that it was extending its nondiscrimination policy to summer public interest fellowships, postgraduate public interest fellowships, and loan forgiveness for public interest careers. The school will no longer provide financial support for students and graduates who work at organizations that discriminate on the basis of “sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.”

Haviland argues that the new policy allows Yale to discriminate against Christian public interest groups. He points out that the ACLU, which defends abortion rights, is not impacted by the new policy.

  1. New York Times Wants to ‘Expose Christian Schools’

According to a 25 January 2019 Breitbart article, the New York Times briefly wanted to expose Christian schools (until they deleted all their tweets on the subject and pretended they never took those bigoted steps).

christian-children-pray

New York Times reporter Dan Levin is asking Twitter users who attended Christian schools to share their experiences using the hashtag #exposechristianschools:

I’m a New York Times reporter writing about #exposechristianschools. Are you in your 20s or younger who went to a Christian school? I’d like to hear about your experience and its impact on your life. Please DM me.

— Dan Levin (@globaldan) January 24, 2019

Levin tweeted that he wants “to hear about all experiences, including positive stories/impact about your time in school,” implying that likely most responses to the hashtag would be negative:

Many Twitter users have been calling out the bigotry behind the hashtag – which self-proclaimed “exvangelical” writer Chris Stroop takes credit for creating:

As the Daily Caller observed, the heightened hostility toward Christians on the social media platform comes in the wake of left-wing activists’ condemnation of watercolor artist Karen Pence, wife of Vice President Mike Pence, who returned to teach art recently at the Immanuel Christian School, which holds and teaches Christian beliefs about human sexuality and traditional marriage between one man and one woman:

Note: Levin’s tweet was deleted before 1 February.

With the abuses from various Christian leaders (now highlighted in the Catholic hierarchy, formerly with other denominations), it seems that this guy was set to take down the church.

From his reaction, it seems he wasn’t ready for thr truth.

  1. LGBTQ Caucus thought they killed the ‘Save Chick-Fil-A’ Bill in Texas

Giving to the Salvation Army, FCA, & a youth house are unforgivable sins to LGBTQ groups

Although conservative forces were able to regroup after this article was written and pass the measure that once seemed doomed, this article shows the level of animus against Christians in the LGBTQ+ caucus.

Showing their ire against Chick-Fil-A (who the LGBTQ lobbies have banned from the San Antonio airport due to the company’s donations to the Salvation Army, a youth house, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes), LGBTQ groups worked in the Texas legislature to prevent the state from keeping cities from abusing companies of their religious rights.

Nothing matches quite as well as Democrats and liberal, anti-Christian discrimination.

The newly formed LGBTQ Caucus killed a religious freedom bill in the Texas House of Representatives on Thursday, which was crafted in response to the San Antonio City Council banning Chick-fil-A from its International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior.”

Republican Texas state Rep. Michael Krause sponsored the “Save Chick-fil-A” bill (or House Bill 3172) to protect “religious beliefs and moral convictions, including beliefs and convictions regarding marriage.” The legislation would have “prohibited adverse actions by government” based on support or membership of religious organizations.

Democratic state Rep. Julie Johnson, one of the five members on the LGBTQ Caucus, used a parliamentary action to delay, then ultimately kill the bill.

“Bills like this are hurtful. They cause pain,” Johnson told CNN Friday. “We can’t allow religion to be a cover for discrimination.”

Krause defended the legislation in April, stating that “it protects Ben & Jerry’s as much as it protects Chick-fil-A.”

“The government should not be penalizing, should not taking adverse action against you for your belief on a marriage,” he further noted during a public committee hearing.

evn though this article shows the animus against Christians by the LGBTQ+ caucus, we can take comfort in knowing that the Save Chick-Fil-A Bill passed and was signed into law.

  1. ‘Every American’s Right’: Christian Farmers Fight Back After Being Banned for Biblical Marriage Beliefs

The Christian Broadcast Network reports in a 11 April 2019 article on a group of Christian farmers who have resisted after they were banned from the farmer’s market for maintaining Biblical beliefs.

A pair of Christian farmers who were banned from their local farmers market in 2016 for choosing not to host a gay wedding on their personal farm are taking their battle to court this week.

Steve and Bridget Tennes, owners of Country Mill Farms, are asking for a permanent court order forcing the city of East Lansing, Michigan to let them sell their products at the city’s farmer’s market.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) will represent the Tennes family in court this Friday. According to ADF, the City of Lansing blocked the Christian family from selling their products after reading on the Country Mill Farms’ Facebook page that they support biblical marriage and will not allow LGBTQ weddings in their orchards.

“Our family farm here is very personal to us,” Steve Tennes said in a statement on the ADF website. “One of the things we really enjoy about our family farm here is (that) we are able to raise our five children here at the farm in accordance with our faith.”

In 2017, a federal judge issued a preliminary order forcing the city to allow the Tennes family to participate in the farmers market and said the city most likely violated their religious and free speech rights.

According to NBC News, East Lansing Mayor Mark Meadows said that temporary ruling only covered the 2017 market season. Meadows also said the city opposes the Tennes’ “corporate decision-making,” not their religious beliefs.

“This doesn’t have anything to do with Mr. Tennes,” Meadows said. “This has to do with the business.”

ADF Legal Counsel Kate Anderson strongly disagrees.

“All Americans should be free to live and speak according to their deeply held religious beliefs without fear of government punishment,” said Anderson. “Yet East Lansing officials changed their market policy to shut out Steve Tennes because they don’t like his Catholic beliefs regarding marriage. Courts have repeatedly rejected these types of practices as unconstitutional discrimination.”

Thank God for their efforts.
