Peace with God, but …

First, the most important point — peace with God

During these days of layoffs, stay-at-home orders, and release of thousands of felons, it seems that we have continual war with the world. Truthfully, we do, but — for all who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior — we have peace with the winner of the total conflict. We have peace with God.

Because we did nothing to earn salvation, we can do nothing to lose it. So we can rest in our salvation (and that means no more fighting with God).

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Of course, we cannot claim being the source of even the faith needed for salvation

We got the faith we needed for salvation through God’s undeserved grace toward us. Because of that, we can shout joyfully since we stand in the promise of God and are covered by His glory.

through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

Considering all of this, we can be happy when problems come from the world

wp-1588900799918.jpgAs shown by the repeated attacks on Jack Phillips and Samaritan’s Purse, the world is all too ready to go out of its way to attack Christians even after the Christians do good things for the world. Still, we must rejoice about this, because it teaches us to live with persecution.

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

With this, we not only learn to live with persecution, but we build a reputation that can speak for Christ

Once we show that we can live through persecution, we prove our character. With that, we show the message and promise that we have within us.

and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

God’s message never disappoints. God’s love pours over us, the Holy Spirit has been given to us, and our hearts are filled.

The promises and messages of God never disappoint. Not only has His love been poured out on us when we did not deserve it, His Holy Spirit came to us.

and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Twelve stories not being told about the coronavirus problem

Featured

The origin and nature comes into greater focus

  1. Leaked Western intelligence dossier reveals how China deceived the world about coronavirus

Fox News provides a timeline showing us how China lied about coronavirus.

CoronavirusSpiesA research dossier compiled by the so-called “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance states that China intentionally hid or destroyed evidence of the coronavirus outbreak, leading to the loss of tens of thousands of lives around the world

The 15-page document from the intelligence agencies of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, was obtained by Australia’s Saturday Telegraph newspaper and states that China’s secrecy amounted to an “assault on international transparency.”

The dossier touches on themes that have been discussed in media reports about the outbreak of the virus, including an initial denial by China that the virus could be transmitted between humans, the silencing or “disappearing” of doctors who tried to speak up, the destruction of evidence in laboratories and refusal to provide live samples to international scientists working on a vaccine.

Specifically, the file notes that China began censoring news of the virus on search engines and social media beginning Dec. 31, deleting terms including “SARS variation,” “Wuhan Seafood market” and “Wuhan Unknown Pneumonia.”

Three days later, on Jan. 3, China’s National Health Commission ordered virus samples to be either moved to designated testing facilities or destroyed, while simultaneously issuing a “no-publication order” related to the disease.

The Saturday Telegraph report includes a timeline of Chinese obfuscation. On Jan. 5, for example, Wuhan’s Municipal Health Commission stopped releasing daily updates on the number of new cases and would not resume them for 13 days. On Jan. 10, Wang Guanga, a respiratory specialist at Peking University First Hospital who had been investigating the outbreak, said it was “under control” and largely a “mild condition.” (Wang himself would disclose 12 days later that he had been infected with the virus.)

Two days later, on Jan. 12, a Shanghai professor’s lab was closed down after it shared data on the virus’ genetic sequence with the outside world. On Jan. 24, Chinese officials stopped the Wuhan Institute of Virology from sharing virus samples with a lab at the University of Texas.

Perhaps most damningly, the dossier states that Chinese authorities denied that the virus could be spread between humans until Jan. 20, “despite evidence of human-human transmission from early December.”

The file is similarly unsparing about the World Health Organization (WHO), stating that it toed the Chinese line about human-to-human transmission despite the fact that “officials in Taiwan raised concerns as early as December 31, as did experts in Hong Kong on January 4.”

As of Friday night, the WHO’s official Twitter account still featured a tweet from Jan. 14 that stated: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.”

The dossier goes on to state that throughout February, “Beijing [pressed] the US [sic], Italy, India, Australia, Southeast Asian neighbours [sic] and others not to protect themselves via travel restrictions, even as [China] impose[d] severe restrictions at home.”

At the same time, the file states: “Millions of people [left] Wuhan after the outbreak and before Beijing lock[ed] down the city on January 23.”

Remember the Chinese spy who worked as a driver, gofer, liason to the Asian community in Los Angeles, and trusted confidant for Senator Feinstein?

Unless you have surrenderered to the Democrat news, you remember the case of the spy who drove and did odd jobs for Senator Diane Feinstein. Therefore, this business of spying by the Chinese is nothing new.

  1. U.S. investigators eye Chinese lab as origin of coronavirus, Director of National Intelligence confirms

The Washington Times confirms reports that a Chinese lab created the Wuhan coronavirus, a fact that has now been confirmed by the director of America’s intelligence community.

1200px-Seal_of_the_Office_of_the_Director_of_National_Intelligence.svgU.S. intelligence agencies investigating the coronavirus behind the deadly global pandemic now believe it either mutated from animals to humans or escaped from a Chinese government laboratory in Wuhan, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said Thursday.

The statement marks the first time that ODNI, which oversees the nation’s intelligence agencies, acknowledged that secret intelligence analysis is underway to determine how the virus outbreak began. It notes that various agencies have been providing support to policymakers on the COVID-19 virus, “which originated in China.”

President Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have all confirmed in recent days that spy agencies are probing the mounting questions surrounding the origins of the coronavirus, which has infected 3.2 million worldwide and killed at least 230,000 people.

China’s government initially said the virus spread from people infected from wild animal meat at a food market in Wuhan, but those claims shifted in the past three months.

“The [intelligence community] will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” the ODNI said.

U.S. intelligence analysts agree with a “wide scientific consensus” that the virus does not appear to have been man-made or genetically modified by Wuhan researchers who have carried out extensive research on bat coronaviruses like the one behind the pandemic.

The origin of the virus is important for scientific researchers seeking to understand the nature of the disease, how to treat it and how to respond to any future outbreaks.

Officials in other countries have raised questions about China’s handling of the outbreak, and Australia’s government has called for an international investigation into the origin of the virus.

Spokesmen for Beijing have said a scientific study is needed to determine the origin of the virus but have not indicated whether China is conducting such a probe.

Chinese authorities launched a campaign of disinformation asserting that the virus originated outside of China and that the U.S. Army may have brought the virus to China. The Trump administration sharply denies those charges.

Whether it came from a lab or a market, China covered the beginning of an outbreak and let people travel across the globe

As for myself, I don’t care whether China created this virus and let it go or stumbled upon it and ignored it. However, when they took the lying step of saying the coronavirus could not be transmitted between humans and further lied about how many people had caught it, then they committed an infraction for which they needed to face consequences.

  1. U.S. officials push for expelling suspected Chinese spies at media outlets

Even the New York Times acknowledges that U.S. officials have pushed to have suspected Chinese spies expelled from media.

the-new-york-times-logoAs China moves forward with expelling almost all American journalists from three major American newspapers, Trump administration officials have intensified discussions over whether to evict employees of Chinese media outlets who they say mainly act as spies.

The action is under consideration because some U.S. officials want to retaliate against China in a new conflict that has revolved around news organizations and is being fueled by hostility over the coronavirus pandemic.

Since the virus began spreading across the United States, Washington and Beijing have waged a global information war over the outbreak. President Trump and his aides are trying to pin responsibility on China, where Communist Party officials initially covered up the dangers of the virus as it was first discovered. Mr. Trump, though, has been criticized for vast failures in the American response.

Some American intelligence officials have pushed for years to expel employees of Chinese media organizations who they say mainly file intelligence reports. The officials now see an opening to make a strong case after Beijing abruptly announced this month that it would expel almost all American citizens who report from mainland China for The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.

China also demanded those organizations, as well as Voice of America and Time magazine, turn over information on employees, budgets, assets and other operational details.

American officials view the state-run outlets in China as a potent threat in the , both because the outlets disseminate propaganda around the world and because of their ability to provide cover for intelligence operatives.

(Try to pick more bits of truth from the New York Times, if you will)

Considering that the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post were kicked out of China, this should be accepted

Had the Obama administration taken steps to defend the media (which, considering what Obama did to James Rosen, AP reporter phone records, and Sharyl Attkisson, that would be well out of character for that crooked administration), they would have rained praises on the administration and exposed the Chinese spying. However, in this age of Trump Derangement Syndrome, the press sides with the communist spies.

  1. China ups its spy game on US soil as it bids to control coronavirus narrative

Fox News points out how China has stepped up its spying and propaganda on US soil.

ChineseSpyFor decades, China has waged an espionage war with the United States, exploiting America’s comparatively open society and free-market economy to steal critical information, trade secrets and technology tools.

But as the coronavirus, officially termed COVID-19, continues to assault the globe – Beijing is upping its spy game on U.S. soil with a focus on manipulating the narrative, officials and experts say.

The primary focus now, according to several current and former intelligence officials interviewed by Fox News, is attempting to control the disease narrative inside the U.S. and cast the blame game anywhere but Beijing.

One U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, underscored that the Chinese focus inside the U.S. remains centered on technology theft, military readiness and minimizing the blowback.

“Most assuredly, the American people will demand some kind of financial response, if not outright reparations in the many billions,” the source explained. “And the Chinese cannot afford that, but they know Trump will cut into it, too.”

A retired Pentagon officer underscored that its media operations are in “full swing,” a slight shift from its typical focus on IP and technology theft.

“It is about saving face for them,” said the source. “It’s about leaking out false information, even to our [the U.S. intelligence] apparatus.”

Late last month, Trump administration officials ignited a quest to root out suspected spies from prominent U.S. media outlets, as well as Chinese outlets suspected of filing predominantly false media reports to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“There is hacking into computer systems, very active human (HUMINT) recruiting of U.S. citizens out of their embassies, consulates, and spies operating under diplomatic cover or non-official cover. They are extremely active against U.S. defense contractors and in and around technology industry hubs,” noted retired Special Forces Col. James Williamson. “If not the parts themselves, at least critical components of parts, have been used in sensitive U.S. defense technology.”

  1. A war of words that has nothing to do with Trump has centered on coronavirus

Fox News reports that China and Australia have been exchanging words and the US may get dragged into it as things escalate.

The animosity brewing between Australia and China over coronavirus reached a fever pitch this week.

But tensions between the trading partners have been simmering for more than a year over alleged plots to plant spies in the government as well as control over strategic islands in the South Pacific that could have consequences for the United States.

The latest spat started after Australia called for an independent inquiry into the origin of the novel coronavirus.

peter-dutton“I think it’s incumbent upon China to answer those questions and provide the information so people can have clarity about exactly what happened because we don’t want it to be repeated,” Australia’s home affairs minister Peter Dutton said on April 17.

China responded by threatening economic retaliation and accused Australia of doing America’s dirty work.

“Obviously (Dutton) must have also received some instructions from Washington requiring him to cooperate with the U.S. in its propaganda war against China … Some Australian politicians parroted what those U.S. forces have said and followed them to launch political attacks on China,” a Chinese embassy official said. “Their move reveals the former’s ignorance and bigotry as well as lack of independence, which is sad.”

China has been working hard to shed its image that it silenced doctors and sat on vital virus data when COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, the capital city of central China’s Hubei province in late 2019. Since then, more than 3.2 million people have been infected by the contagion and nearly 230,000 have died worldwide.

Though Australia’s push for answers will likely receive support from President Trump, who has raked China over coals for downplaying the severity of the virus, allies France and Britain have made clear that now isn’t the time to play the blame game.

That hasn’t stopped Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison from pressing on.

“Australia will continue to, of course, pursue what is a very reasonable and sensible course of action,” he said. “(Coronavirus) has shut down the global economy. It would seem entirely reasonable and sensible that the world would want to have an independent assessment of how this all occurred so we can learn the lessons and prevent it from happening again.”

That train of thought is not sitting well with China, who seemed to view the international inquiry as a political witch hunt orchestrated by the United States to knock its biggest economic competitor out.

“Washington from now on would say nothing positive about China, but constantly condemn us. It has a few followers like Australia. But these countries can barely influence us,” an April 27 editorial in the Global Times, the mouthpiece of China’s ruling Communist Party, claimed.

Instead of bowing to pressure, China has doubled down, marginalizing Australia’s concerns and threatening the country with a massive boycott.

Petty dictators continue to use coronavirus to subjugate the populace

  1. ‘Freedom is essential’: Protest against coronavirus stay-at-home orders in L.A.

Breitbart tells of the Californian protests against stay-at-home orders in Los Angeles.

GavinNewsomHundreds of protesters gathered at the Los Angeles City Hall on Friday to oppose Gov. Gavin Newsom’s coronavirus stay-at-home orders and to demand the economy be re-opened.

Hundreds more circled the area on a parade route of vehicles, many decorated with American flags and protest signs — “Freedom is essential” — honking their horns in solidarity with the crowd on the City Hall steps.

CaliProtestThe protest was organized by a group called “We Have Rights,” with the support of other groups, such as the Libertarian Party of Los Angeles County. Half a dozen rallies were held Friday across Southern California.

A woman who identified herself as a nurse, holding a sign that said, “Stop Newsom Open California,” told Breitbart News that she wanted to see the whole country reopened — “Not just California, all the states.”

She noted that while she had been able to stay at work without becoming sick, many patients in need of care had been unable to come to the hospital for treatments other than for coronavirus. “People are suffering,” she said.

Even in California, they see their freedoms melting away

Although a limited number of Democrats like Mad Maxine certainly celebrate the taking of freedoms, a greater number have started to awaken. While I don’t hold any delusions that there will be enough to unseat Pelosi, Schiff, or Waters from their gerrymandered seats, maybe there will be enough to move the less secure Democrats.

  1. California county plans to defy Gov. Newsom, lift stay-home order

Fox News points to the people who have had a snoot-full of liberal restrictions.

At least one California county says it can no longer afford to abide by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s shelter-in-place response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Officials in Modoc County, in the far northeast corner of the state, say it’s one of five Golden State counties with no confirmed cases of the virus – and the local economy has been hurting.

So beginning Friday, Modoc officials plan to reopen their county of 9,000 people, according to reports. The county’s board of supervisors signed a resolution to that effect Tuesday, SFGate.com reported.

“Modoc County is unique in that our residents and businesses have been able to adapt their framework to fit the physical distancing guidelines put forth by California,” a joint statement from the county sheriff’s office and public health director says, according to SFGate.com. “Modoc needs to be open to salvage our local economy and to move forward in this pandemic.

“We know that we need to do this now, we need to do this in the smartest way possible and we need to do this together.”

Modoc officials insist they aren’t being hasty or irresponsible in their plans.

“We cannot stress enough how important it is to do this right. COVID-19 is not over,” their statement said. “This is the beginning of a very long road to recovery. The reopening plan was made in the best interest of residents’ physical, mental, and economic health.”

Modoc officials say the state’s shelter-in-place rules would resume in the county if more than two COVID-19 cases are detected there, and seniors 65 or older, and other at-risk people are being asked to remain at home until May 15, with orders for them to be reevaluated at that time if the county still has no confirmed infections, the report said.

In addition, restaurants and bars in the county must limit customer occupancy to 50 percent of capacity, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“This is a plan, this is not an order,” the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “This is simply what we are proposing that is eligible to open if preventative measures are possible.”

On Wednesday, Newsom spoke out against reopening plans that would precede the end of his orders, saying such actions could risk the success of the state’s virus mitigation efforts.

As stated before, this is a game of numbers

The more the leaders of the left push their left-leaning followers into the middle, the better it will be for all of us. Something tells me that Pelosi has her eyes trained on pushing Trump from office by cooling down the economy, but she has not considered the effects of the petty tyrants she has enabled across the Democrat party. If all of these petty tyrants turn the people against Democrats, she will be in trouble.

  1. Huntington Beach protesters resist California Gov. Newsom’s order closing beaches

Fox News points out how the normally-liberal citizens of Huntington Beach have had enough of Governor Newsom’s order to close the beaches.

One day after California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered Orange County beaches closed to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, hundreds of protesters flooded the city of Huntington Beach to demonstrate against the action.

Holding signs with slogans such as, “Open Cali Now,” “All Jobs are Essential” and “Surfing Not a Crime/Newsom is a Kook,” as they took to the street, the protesters — many without face masks and not practicing social distancing — backed up traffic along the Pacific Coast Highway for at least a mile.

Police on horseback worked to push the crowd out of the road, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

The protest followed a similar one in the city two weekends ago, when demonstrators called for a reopening of the state’s economy after a month under Newsom’s stay-at-home order.

Many participating Friday were with the group Fully Reopen CA Now, according to FOX 11.

“We cannot survive two, three months on this timeline with this amount of businesses shut down and, quite frankly, the data at this point doesn’t support it,” group member Vivienne Reiten told the station.

(Read more at Fox News)

Why close beaches, unless large numbers of sick people are within six feet of each other?

For all of the times that I was at the beach in Galveston, the only times I got within six feet of another person was when I picked up my infant son or hugged my wife. Of course, the muddy gulf waters around Galveston don’t hold a candle to the beaches elsewhere.

However, if the findings from the DHS study mean anyhing, then if someone coughs, then the virus dies within a second or two in full sunlight at high humidity.

Petty dictators try to restrict religious freedom and other freedoms

  1. Kansas City: Church attendees must register with the government or their church will face closure and jail

Pulpit and Pen reports on a set of Kansas City churches that have come under the thumb of a mayor.

As Kansas City begins reopening, the local government is requiring every church who wishes to provide services to turn in when asked a detailed list of every person who enters their building for services, including name, phone number and address, so city officials can use it for surveillance and tracking purposes. Failure to comply can result in up to 6 month in jail and the Church being completely shut down.

This tyrannical and unjust law is part of the “10/10/10 rule” that Kansas City will begin operating under. According to the FAQ website released by the city:

“The 10/10/10 rule specifies that these businesses must limit the number of individuals on-site (inclusive of employees and customers) to no more than 10 percent of building occupancy or 10 people (whichever is larger), and record the names, contact information, and approximate entry/exit time of all customers who are on premises for more than 10 minutes.

In-person religious gatherings (including weddings and funerals) may resume, subject to the 10/10/10 rule (if held inside) or limited to 50 people outside, provided social distancing precautions are followed and event organizers maintain records of all attendees.”

The order further stipulates that by recording people’s names, businesses and churches will enable the Kansas City Health Department “to more quickly trace, test, and isolate individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 if an employee or customer had the virus at the time they frequented the business.”  If an attendee or member does not want to give this information to city officials, the church is to refuse them entry.

Violations of any provision of this order results in steep penalties. According to the government’s announcement, failing to comply “constitutes an imminent threat, creates an immediate menace to public health, and shall be considered a violation of Section 50-155 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.”

The penalty for violating Section 50-155 is “punished by a fine of not less than $25.00 and not more than $500.00, or by imprisonment in the municipal penal correctional institution for a period of time not less than one day and not more than six months.”

If this is not challenged, this will set a precedent

If people of faith do not stand up against people like this mayor, then this will set a benchmark for the next petty dictator to try to exceed. If we want to keep the rights that our ancestors died defending, we will lose them.

  1. A journalist who contributes to the New York Times and MSNBC warns fascism could come to US if coronavirus shutdowns wreck economy

Fox News provides a little levity by showing that even a journalist at the New York Times and MSNBC can see something coming that has been happening in Democrat-ruled areas for months (refer to my posts on Hidalgo, the US Circuit Court, and other information).

A new Great Depression triggered by coronavirus shutdowns could lead to “fascism” in the United States, a New York Times columnist and MSNBC contributor warned Friday night.

“If the Great Depression is what gave us the rise of fascism and a certain chancellor in Germany, what is the next Great Depression going to do to our politics?” Bret Stephens wondered during an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” alluding to the rise of Adolph Hitler.

Stephens pointed to the economic devastation the U.S. has faced in recent weeks and the “staggering” total of 30 million people filing for unemployment benefits.

He also noted there was “no end of blame that can be assigned” to the Trump administration for its handling of the outbreak, and urged others to “think ahead.”

“We were already moving in a populist and neo-authoritarian direction [when] the economy was relatively good,” Stephens continued. “What happens when you have tens of millions of people who are out of work and desperate — not just economically but politically?

“So people have to start thinking about the balance of risk. … If you balance it in one way, people are going to suffer and people are going to die and that’s almost certainly true. But there are risks to simply holding our breath forever and not hurting ourselves”

Stephens then compared the current “strategy” to combat the coronavirus to the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

“We’re trying to destroy the village in order to save it,” Stephens told Maher, “and I don’t remember that ending very well.”

If this person would quit believing the lies put out by one side, then he would see dictators have been ruling for over a month

If this guy would look around and consider that the stay-at-home orders have occurred primarily in Democrat enclaves. Additionally, he might consider how these stay-at-home orders may be useless (as demonstrated by the similar coronavirus death rates in both Michigan and Sweden when Sweden did not shelter-in-place).

Furthermore, has Stephens considered the brown shirt tactics of deBlasio and Hidalgo as they encourage people to snitch on each other when they see people not social distancing?

  1. New York City Council demands Samaritan’s Purse must leave due to its views on homosexuality

The city council from New York has demanded that Samaritan’s Purse after the group set up a clinic at no cost to the city in Central Park as reported in a 4 May 2020 article published by The Blaze.

Samaritan’s Purse, which had been operating a field hospital in Central Park, has been effectively booted from the city.

2045IT-B15-587The Christian-based humanitarian relief organization, run by Franklin Graham, established a field hospital in Central Park as New York City quickly became the global epicenter for COVID-19. The move was immediately decried by the left due to Samaritan Purse’s biblical views on sexuality despite the organization’s commitment to serve every patient without discrimination.

But on Saturday, Mount Sinai Health System announced it was shutting down the field hospital. Sources told local media the decision was due in part to Samaritan Purse’s Christian beliefs.

“Source tells me a decision was made to sever ties after controversy over the group’s religious views on the LGBTQ community caused concerns in NY,” local NYC reporter Melissa Russo said.

Never mind the mindless, complaining Democrat bureaucrats

Never mind that Samaritan’s Purse treated more than 282 severely-ill patients without regard to anything (according to a post uploaded in mid March). Never mind that there have never been any reports of them turning anyone away due to sexual orientation.

On turning away from coronavirus hysteria and returning to work

  1. Arizona Representative Andy Biggs explains why he wants Arizona reopened ‘Yesterday’ despite virus concerns

Phoenix News Radio KTAR relays the words of Representative Andy Biggs as he explains why he wants to open Arizona despite virus concerns.

AndyBiggsIf social distancing guidelines continue to be observed, U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona would like to see nonessential businesses reopen as soon as possible.

“Allow retail shops to open up the way they normally would with social distancing you see in grocery stores… businesses are just dying on the vine. We need to take care of that,” Biggs said Wednesday on KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show.

Gov. Doug Ducey said Tuesday that he had asked for input from lodging and business communities in a plan for economic recovery and would reopen the state when the time was right.

More than 95,000 Arizonans filed first-time unemployment claims last week, according to the Department of Economic Security. Continuing claims totaled 164,483.

“I think we can responsibly allow Americans to be free and to make these adjustments and I think that’s important to realize,” Biggs said.

Were another economic stimulus package make its way around the Capitol anytime soon, Biggs is ready to vote no again, as he did March 27.

“If they throw in, like they did last time, nearly a trillion dollars of spending that’s absolutely unrelated to coronavirus, that would be a dealbreaker,” he said.

Biggs also cited voting by mail and removal of previous welfare reforms, as other examples, of what would cause him to vote against another potential virus relief bill.

Words from a Republican that support the side of the President will not go reported. Likewise, when Pelosi again blocks relief funds to American small business, nothing will be reported.

  1. Global stocks rally Friday on Gilead’s coronavirus treatment and Boeing’s production restart

Fox News reports on how global markets have responded to news that America may reopen its business sector.

US_StockFuturesU.S. stock futures are signaling a strong start to Friday’s session adding to the momentum seen on Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average are up more than 700 points or 3 percent while the S&P 500 was higher by nearly 3 percent and the Nasdaq Composite 2 percent.

Earlier in the evening, President Trump outlined the early-stage, phase approach as part of the  “Opening Up America Again” coronavirus come back plan and there was also positive news on Gilead Sciences.

Its drug Remdesivir, according to Statnews.com, showed effectiveness for treating COVID-19 patients. Shares of Gilead rose over 8 percent in premarket trading.

A recent clinical trial of Remdesivir, an antiviral medicine used as a potential treatment for Ebola, found rapid recoveries in coronavirus patients’ fever and respiratory symptoms.

The trial, conducted by the University of Chicago Medicine, found nearly all patients who were given daily infusions of Remdesivir were discharged from the hospital in less than a week.

Anything that counters the hair-on-fire narrative will miss the air waves

Anything that projects a ray of hope (from news on opening up to news on developing new treatments) will receive scant coverage until after the elections. Of course, after the election, hopefully Trump will be re-elected (as long as we take nothing for granted) and Trump Derangement Syndrome will be in full bloom.

  1. Michigan Governor deems Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy ‘Essential Workers’

Breitbart points out how Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has taken to making quips about the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy as she curtails the religious rights of Michigan citizens.

Michigan Democrats Hold News Conference After Post-Primary Unity RallyAs frustrations grow among Michigan workers, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer assured the state on Wednesday that the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are exempt from her newly expanded stay-at-home order.

Then on Thursday, she increased the crackdown on tax-paying workers.

“We heard there were kids in Michigan who had a few concerns, so I wanted to let you know that I spoke with the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy to let them know that they are essential workers and they can keep doing their jobs even though the rest of us are staying home,” Whitmer said in the video message.

The following day, Whitmer extended her stay-at-home order, and widened it to additional retailers, saying:

A new section of the order imposes restrictions on stores in an effort to reduce crowds. Large stores must limit the number of people in the store at one time to no more than 4 customers for every 1,000 square feet of customer floor space; small stores must limit capacity to 25% of the total occupancy limits (including employees) under the fire codes. To regulate entry, stores must establish lines with markings for patrons to enable them to stand at least six feet apart from one another while waiting. Large stores must also close areas of the store that are dedicated to carpeting, flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint.

Michiganders are growing increasingly frustrated with the shutdown.

“The governor’s extended Stay-at-Home order is the wrong call and is bad for Michigan families,” state House Speaker Lee Chatfield posted on Twitter.

So, this condescending governor will exempt the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy, but not allow people to go to church

This falls into the same category as “life-sustaining” abortion: it doesn’t exist except in your mind (and there is some question about that).

  1. Michigan Governor cites a “bad weather” exemption to your rights to property and assembly

Red State reports on Michigan Governor “Half” Whitmer and her attempt to explain her baseless curtailing of rights.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer must be feeling the heat from her own draconian methods of dealing with the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak as she’s now trying to explain why it’s not so bad and not doing a very good job of it.

Appearing on “Today,” Whitmer explained that her orders to stop people from doing everything from traveling to their own properties in different parts of the state to planting gardens within the bound of their own home won’t be that big of a deal because…

…wait for it…

…there’s snow on the ground.

Apparently snow justifies the suspension of Michiganders to do what they want on their own properties. I had no idea.

Snowflake“So we just had snow. I’ve got snow on the ground in Lancing. We’re expecting 30 inches in the upper peninsula,” said Whitmer. “The fact that we’re cracking down on people traveling between homes or planting, or landscaping or golfing, really for a couple more weeks, isn’t going to meaningfully impact people’s ability to do it because the snow will do that in and of itself.

This redefines the standard for a Michigander snowflake

Considering the clause in the Declaration of Independence that covers the origins of our rights (that is, the clause assigning “unalienable rights” from our Creator — which leads to our Constitution and its Bill of Rights), there is no way one can square her statements about the rightness of her taking away rights with the extended logic within the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Furthermore, when you review the temporal nature of the underpinnings of her statements, this really redefines “snowflake.”

  1. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer: Abortion during coronavirus ‘is life sustaining’

Fox News informs us us this gem: Governor Whitmer thinks abortion during the coronavirus scare “is life sustaining.”

Michigan won’t ban abortions during the coronavirus outbreak as other states have done, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Thursday, insisting the procedures were part of maintaining “life-sustaining” health care.

“We stopped elective surgeries here in Michigan, and some people have tried to say that that type of a procedure is considered the same, and that’s ridiculous,” Whitmer, a Democrat, told former Barack Obama political strategist David Alexrod on his podcast when he asked about other states that have sought bans amid the outbreak.

Does she not know the true nature of abortion or is she willfully blind?

Christ said:

Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14 NASB)

Considering that at least one person comes out dead from every abortion, it would seem that Governor Whitmer has become willfully blind to the facts around abortion.

On liberal media hiding their agenda

  1. Hey, NBC News, You Buried This Critical Detail in Your Article About Hydroxychloroquine

Townhall comments on how MSNBC hid a pivotal point that could have turned the story around.

Well, it looks like NBC News is at it again. With no vaccine against the Wuhan coronavirus, there have been reports that the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine has been effective in combating the symptoms of the virus. It is not a cure and it has yet to get the seal of approval from the task force as something which is recommended as a treatment for those infected with COVID-19. It’s a stopgap until we get a vaccine, giving us some breathing room regarding preventing future deaths. It’s a hopeful story that the anti-Trump opposition press is trying to squash. They can’t have hope. That means Trump is doing something right. That cannot be allowed to be broadcasted. And it’s the usual suspects. In March, NBC News reporter Heidi Przybyla tweeted a shoddy article from her colleagues about an Arizona couple who ingested chloroquine phosphate, a fish tank cleaner, which isn’t the same drug and Trump hasn’t recommended it but noted the anecdotal evidence that’s it’s worked on a lot of COVID patients. Yet, NBC tried to insinuate that this was Trump’s fault, as the husband died, and the wife was left in critical condition.

Now, Heidi is pushing her story about a woman who took hydroxychloroquine and died, which our friends at Twitchy picked up. Again, we have another piece that seeks to blame Trump for this woman’s death, but talk about burying the lede here [emphasis mine]:

A New York woman with coronavirus symptoms died last week after being prescribed a drug cocktail with known cardiac side effects, and family members say she was not tested for COVID-19 or for heart problems before receiving the medication.

[…]

In early April, Ligia, a 65-year-old Queens resident, was given the drug by her general practitioner after she reported having a bad cough, fever and shortness of breath. Ligia’s last name is being withheld on the request of her children.

While Ligia’s symptoms were consistent with those of COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus, she was never tested for the virus, her brother-in-law, Lee Levitt, told NBC News. Ligia received the drug after speaking by phone with her doctor, Levitt said. She was never evaluated in person and received no heart screening or warning about the potential side effects.

“It was handed over like a bag of cookies,” Levitt said.

NBC News made two attempts to reach Ligia’s doctor for comment. A man who answered the office phone and identified himself as the doctor then said there’d been a misunderstanding and offered to take a message.

Levitt acknowledged that the family does not know that the drug caused Ligia’s death. The family has not received a death certificate.

On persistent liberals persecuting conservatives

  1. Masterpiece Cakeshop Sued Again— This Time Over A Transgender Cake

The Washington Examiner reports on the latest suit by LGBTQ activists against Jack Phillips and his Masterpiece Cakeshop.

JackPhillipsIt feels like ancient history amid the coronavirus pandemic, but it was only a few years ago that the Supreme Court case pitting Christian baker Jack Phillips against the Colorado Civil Rights Commission captured the national imagination and sparked a debate over religious liberty and gay rights. Phillips won that case due to the overt “religious animus” in the Colorado government’s actions against him. Yet, due to the narrow scope of its ruling, Phillips was in court once again last week.

On Thursday, Phillips and his attorneys at the Alliance Defending Freedom asked a state court to dismiss a case brought against them not by the state of Colorado, which after years has seemingly given up on persecuting the Christian baker, but by an angry transgender lawyer and activist now pursuing him for declining to make a cake explicitly celebrating gender transition.

This whole affair is deeply disturbing. More importantly, it shows once again that many in the activist Left, particularly, self-described gay and transgender advocates, no longer seek the noble goals of equality or dignity but rather punishment and humiliation for religious holdouts who do not fully embrace their dogma.

First, let’s recap the facts: Phillips has always happily served customers of all races, classes, sexual orientations, and gender identities in his bakery. A gay man like myself could walk into his store and buy a cookie or a cupcake any time, or even a pre-made wedding cake. The only thing Phillips refused to do was specifically design and create cakes that convey or endorse ideological messages he profoundly disagrees with — for example, a customized cake for a wedding between two men. In this, he cited his First Amendment right to be free from compelled speech; the same right someone like me would want to have to decline making a custom cake that says “burn all the gays.”

As a result, Phillips was met with years of national scorn, vilification in the liberal press, death threats, hate mail, and financial ruin. He lost 40% of his business and had to fire much of his staff. Today, he struggles even to keep his business open.

The disproportionate consequences Phillips had to bear merely for defending his rights in court were bad enough, but now continuing to pepper him with lawsuits even after he was vindicated by the Supreme Court?

This is simply beyond the pale of what any level-headed person, even a liberal supportive of gay and transgender rights, can call reasonable. It’s vindictive and nasty, too. Of course, the transgender activist now persecuting Phillips didn’t simply happen upon his bakery by coincidence. And who has even heard of a transition celebration cake?

This litigant obviously targeted Phillips and specifically sought a means of putting him in further legal jeopardy. This is the behavior of a petty, insecure, authoritarian personality.

Never let a good crisis go to waste

As a good friend of Barack Obama once said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” Obviously, this coronavirus panic presents too good of a crisis for the LGBTQ community to let Mr. Phillips rest.

  1. Catholic League warns ‘State Overreach’ in pandemic threatens religious liberty

Breitbart warns by communicating the words of the Catholic League as they pointed to the abuses of religious liberty.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue declared Monday that recent bans on religious activities to curb the spread of the coronavirus constitute “state overreach” that directly threatens religious freedom.

“Whenever religious liberty collides with public health, the government is obliged to put the least restrictive measures on religion,” Dr. Donohue stated, which has not been respected in several recent cases.

One of the most egregious examples is that of Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Donohue notes, who issued a ban last week prohibiting drive-in church Easter services, after which the On Fire Christian Church sued both the mayor and the city.

For his part, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced that authorities would record the license plates of people attending religious services and force them all into 14 days of quarantine.

On April 11, U.S. District Judge Justin Walker ruled for the church, issuing a temporary restraining order prohibiting the city from “enforcing; attempting to enforce; threatening to enforce; or otherwise requiring compliance with any prohibition on drive-in church services at On Fire.”

“On Holy Thursday, an American mayor criminalized the communal celebration of Easter,” Walker wrote in his 20-page decision. “That sentence is one that this Court never expected to see outside the pages of a dystopian novel, or perhaps the pages of The Onion.”

“The Mayor’s decision is stunning. And it is, ‘beyond all reason,’ unconstitutional,” Walker wrote.

On liberal social media

  1. Five times Facebook didn’t fact check coronavirus fake news

Breitbart lists five times the fact checkers overlooked coronavirus fake news.

As the Chinese virus pandemic has swept across the world, there’s been a familiar panic about “misinformation” on social media. Yet certain types of misinformation — in particular the types that could damage President Donald Trump and Republicans — seem immune to crackdowns by the Masters of the Universe.

Facebook stands out as a company that has publicly touted its “misinformation” policy in recent years. As the Chinese virus crisis took off, the company leaped into action with a plan to “combat misinformation” and “connect users to accurate information.”

Yet some misinformation seems to be able to infest Facebook in broad daylight, without any sign of a crackdown from the all-powerful tech giant. Like the media-orchestrated smear of the Covington high school kids, some forms of misinformation appear to be immune from the tech giants.

1. CBS uses footage of an Italian hospital in stories about coronavirus outbreaks in the U.S.

One of the easiest ways to trick viewers is to use footage of a different, but similar event to illustrate a current one. That’s what CBS did when they used chaotic footage from an Italian hospital in not one but two reports about the coronavirus in New York City and Pennsylvania. Even the left-wing fact-checker Snopes called CBS out on this — but there weren’t any “fact check” labels on the story on Facebook.

2. ABC reports that Trump knew about the virus in November

Last week, ABC news ran a story claiming that the U.S. intelligence community knew about the Chinese virus as early as November, and prepared a report on the matter. ABC’s sources were, as per usual, anonymous. Anonymous sources can sometimes provide true information, of course, but not this time — as Breitbart News’s Kristina Wong reported, the National Center for Medical Intelligence made a rare departure from its policy of not commenting on specific intelligence matters in order to publicly debunk the story. Nevertheless, it remains in circulation on Facebook where it has accumulated thousands of shares — without any “fact check” labels or warnings to those sharing it.

Thank Heaven for watchdogs that catch Facebook at its game

Thanks to Breitbart for catching Facebook as it checks just one side of the slanted news coverage.

  1. Facebook will start warning users who engaged with ‘harmful’ misinformation regarding coronavirus

The Guardian warns us of Facebook‘s current politically-correct tripe.

Facebook will begin showing notifications to users who have interacted with posts that contain “harmful” coronavirus misinformation, the company announced on Thursday, in an aggressive new move to address the spread of false information about Covid-19.

The new policy applies only to misinformation that Facebook considers likely to contribute to “imminent physical harm”, such as false claims about “cures” or statements that physical distancing is not effective. Facebook’s policy has been to remove those posts from the platform.

Under the new policy, which will be rolled out in the coming weeks, users who liked, shared, commented or reacted with an emoji to such posts before they were deleted will see a message in their news feed directing them to a “myth busters” page maintained by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“We want to connect people who may have interacted with harmful misinformation about the virus with the truth from authoritative sources in case they see or hear these claims again off of Facebook,” said Guy Rosen, Facebook’s vice-president of integrity, in a blogpost.

Facebook does not take down other misinformation about Covid-19, such as conspiracy theories about the virus’s origins, but instead relies on its third-party factchecking system. If a factchecker rates a claim false, Facebook then adds a notice to the post, reduces its spread, alerts anyone who shared it, and discourages users from sharing it further.

The announcement coincides with the release of a new report by the online activist group Avaaz that highlights Facebook’s shortcomings in counteracting the coronavirus “infodemic”. The study found examples of coronavirus misinformation remaining on the platform even after third-party fact checks had been completed. Avaaz also cited delays in Facebook applying factchecking labels to posts.

Facebook challenged the methodology of Avaaz’s report but said it “appreciated their partnership in developing the notifications we’ll now be showing people”.

On companies doing the right thing

  1. Sixty-five companies in America doing their part to fight the coronavirus

Breitbart points out how 65 companies have set themselves to doing the right thing about coronavirus.

President Donald Trump continues to ask all companies in America to find ways to help the country fight the coronavirus.

From offering free meals and assistance to medical and health care workers to constructing masks, ventilators, and protective equipment, here are some of the top ways that America’s top businesses have answered the call.

President Trump has welcomed several CEOs to the White House to thank them for their efforts, and Breitbart News has been tracking some of the biggest contributions from America’s businesses.

Do you know of a business that belongs on the list? Let us know on Twitter @charliespiering or @BreitbartNews or in the comments section.

  1. Ford: Collaborating with 3M and GE Healthcare to increase the production of ventilators and personal protective equipment.
  2. Toyota: Utilizing several of the company’s North American facilities to manufacture face shields while collaborating with medical device companies to speed the manufacture of ventilators, respirators and other vital devices for hospitals.
  3. General Motors: Manufacturing respiratory masks and working with Ventec Life Systems to mass-produce ventilators at GM’s Kokomo, Indiana, manufacturing facility to ship as soon as next month.

Speak to the Texas Republican Party

The Texas Republican Propositions, my suggestions, and a Biblical reasoning

The propositions put forward by Texas Republicans seek to get the pulse of the grass roots.

Therefore, I encourage you to inform yourself and vote on these propositions.

The following table includes the text of the proposition items, my suggestion for a vote, a reason for my suggestion, and a Bible verse backing that suggestion.

Prop Text: Yes / No ? Why: Verse & Explaination
Prop 1:
Texas should not restrict or prohibit prayer in public schools. Yes. It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after he had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” (Luke 11:1 NASB)

The best way to teach about prayer will be to teach it at home. However, to allow the use of prayer in school can only benefit.

Prop 2:
Texas should reject restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. Yes. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:4 NASB)

We must have the opportunity to protect ourselves and others.

Prop 3:
Texas should ban the practice of taxpayer-funded lobbying, which allows your tax dollars to be spent on lobbyists who work against the taxpayer. Yes. Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate; (Proverbs 22:2 NASB)

This prevents the powerful state from using the money of the people against the people.

Prop 4:
Texas should support the construction of a physical barrier and use existing defense-grade surveillance equipment along the entire southern border of Texas. Yes. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people whom He has choses for His own inheritance. (Psalm 33:12 NASB)

Because God recognizes the separations of nations and honors the nations that honor Him, people need to be able to defend their own borders.

Prop 5:
Texas parents or legal guardians of public school children under the age of 18 should be the sole decision makers for all their children’s healthcare decisions including, but not limited to, psychological assessment and treatment, contraception, and sex education. Yes. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 NASB)

It is up to the parents (especially the father) to protect the children.

Prop 6:
Texas should ban chemical castration, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and genital mutilation surgery on all minor children for transition purposes, given that Texas children as young as three (3) are being transitioned from their biological sex to the opposite sex. No. For each will bear his own load. (Galatians 6:5 NASB)

This proposition contradicts (in essence) the previous. It removes a “no” that the parent must voice and introduces the possibility that the state will make other decisions for the child without consulting the parents.

Prop 7:
Texans should protect and preserve all historical monuments, artifacts, and buildings, such as the Alamo Cenotaph and our beloved Alamo, and should oppose any reimagining of the Alamo site. Yes. So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever. (Joshua 4:7b NASB)

The importance of having a physical reminder of the past comes through here.

Prop 8:
Texas election officials should heed the directives of the Office of the Governor to purge illegal voters from the voter rolls and verify that each new registered voter is a U.S. Citizen. Yes. Stand firm, therefore, having girded your loins with truth. (Ephesians 6:14a NASB)

We must encourage truth among those who we entrust with governmental power.

Prop 9:
Bail in Texas should be based only on a person’s danger to society and risk of flight, not that person’s ability to pay. Yes. When the righteous increase, the people rejoice. But when a wicked man rules, people groan. (Proverbs 29:2 NASB)

The release of murderers by social justice judges has resulted in the murder of innocents.

Prop 10:
Texas should limit our state legislators’ terms to 12 years. Yes. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 NASB)

Because we are imperfect people, limiting the amount of power any one person has over us only makes sense.

Four stories on the problems of Mayor Pete Buttigieg

  1. Buttigieg Says He Won’t Be ‘Lectured On Family Values’ By Rush Limbaugh Or Trump Supporters

The Daily Caller points out that Mayor Pete has rejected the criticism of various people.

MayorPete2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said Sunday that he will not be “lectured on family values” by the likes of radio host Rush Limbaugh or Trump supporters.

The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor spoke on “Fox News Sunday” with anchor Chris Wallace, who brought up separate comments Limbaugh and “America First” host Sebastian Gorka made on Feb. 12 about Buttigieg’s stances on abortion and electability.

“A gay guy, 37 years old, loves kissing his husband on debate stages. Can you see [President Donald] Trump have fun with that?” Limbaugh asked, while Gorka questioned, “Why is a homosexual man lecturing us about the sanctity of life in the womb? Just a little curious there, strange.”

“What is your reaction to those comments?” Wallace asked Buttigieg.

The gay presidential candidate responded: “I am in a faithful, loving, committed marriage. I’m proud of my marriage, and I’m proud of my husband.”

He added:

And I’m not going to be lectured on family values from the likes of Rush Limbaugh or anybody who supports Donald J. Trump as the moral as well as political leader of the United States. America has moved on, and we should have politics of belonging that welcomes everybody. That’s what the American people are for. And I am saddened for what the Republican Party has become if they embrace that kind of homophobic rhetoric.

This seems like a return to the times before the Israelite kings and the times of the Proverbs

This does seem like a return to the times of the Septuagint. You see, in the days before the kings, “every man did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6 NASB). Likewise, Solomon observed this binary nature of the paths we can take:

Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts. (Proverbs 21:2 NASB).

Like the men of those earlier times, Mayor Pete only wants to do things his way. He would rather ignore the counsel of both the Old and New Testaments concerning homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Timothy 3:2-3; 1 Timothy 1:8-11; and Jude 1:5-8). Likewise it seems that he would ignore the verses limiting marriage to one man and one woman (such as Matthew 19:4-6). Like many others, Buttigieg would like to focus on a a message that offers the love and forgiveness of God without requiring repentance. Sorry to say, but that adulterates the entire message of the Bible. Therefore, this has become one step too far.

You might ask why anyone would bother pointing out this discrepancy. Normally, politicians build coalitions based on shared goals of various groups they may claim allegiance. In this case, Buttigieg claims to be a Christian. Mind you, this type of Christianity falls outside of most Christian orthodoxy. Nonetheless, it would seem that an aspiring politician would do everything to build commonalities between himself and the large groups. Not so in this case, which does not seem so wise — which brings up back to Solomon.

Solomon also reminded us:

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. (Proverbs 12:1 NASB).

It seems to me that Mayor Pete might want to listen to someone who does not exactly mirror his own views.

  1. Buttigieg Scorns Pro-Life Votes

Lifezette reports that Mayor Pete calls for Democrat purity on the pro-abortion topic.

ButtigiegScornsProLifeVotesAt a Fox News town hall appearance on Sunday Democrat presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, IN, read out of his party anyone who supports the rights of the unborn and who disdains infanticide.

He instead hoped they could work together on other issues, he responded to a pro-life Democrat who queried him on the matter.

Democrats for Life of America leader Kristen Day said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday, “But I would first of all say that when I asked him the question, I didn’t ask him where he stood on abortion. And the fact that he took that opportunity to double down and sort of alienate pro-life Democrats even further just showed me that he did not — he does not want our vote. And, you know, I’m willing to discuss platform language with, but…he could say that and reinforce that he is pro-choice and…let’s find ways that we can work together,” Day also said.

“The people will have to go to the polls and decide, but I know for sure a lot of Democrats did not go out and vote for Hillary Clinton because of her extreme stance on abortion,” Day concluded.

If Buttigieg and Bernie want to turn their backs on pro-life votes, there is room elsewhere

If Mayor Pete and Senator Sanders would like to make commitment to abortion a Democrat litmus test, then I wish them all the power they need. There is room in the conservative ranks for debate on various issues and we can welcome any degree of pro-life supporters that want to join.

  1. Media Ignores Buttigieg Refusing To Say He Does Not Support Infanticide

The Daily Caller points out how other outlets have ignored Mayor Pete’s refusal to say he does not support infanticide.

Establishment and liberal media failed to cover a presidential candidate refusing to say he does not support infanticide.

2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg refused to come out against late-term abortion or infanticide Thursday, speaking to The View’s Meghan McCain. Yet establishment and liberal media, including CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, HuffPost and Vox, did not cover Buttigieg’s remarks. None of these publications responded to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

McCain reminded Buttigieg that he once suggested unborn babies can be aborted up until they draw their first breath, and offered Buttigieg a chance to walk back the statement.

Buttigieg said “it shouldn’t be up to a government official to draw the line. It should be up to the woman.” When McCain pressed him on this, specifically asking if he would be comfortable with a situation where a “woman wanted to invoke infanticide after a baby was born,” Buttigieg still didn’t distance himself from infanticide.

Does anyone expect the media to come out against a Democrat?

I cannot express any surprise that the media that carried San Fran Nan’s message of “it’s for the children” now kow-tows to the abortion until birth mantra.

  1. Queer community isn’t happy with Mayor Pete

Townhall points out that Buttigieg doesn’t hold universal support among the gay community.

The LGBTQ community in San Francisco isn’t happy with former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg. They feel as though he fails to represent their community. On Friday, two protestors were booted from a fundraiser at the National LGBTQ Center for the Arts for attempting to ask him a question. When it became obvious that they were protestors, supporters began chanting “Boot-Edge-Edge! Boot-Edge-Edge!”

“I’m definitely proud of the fact that a gay candidate has made it thus far, but it’s hard to enjoy or appreciate when his stances are so middle of the road and speak to a predominantly white, upper class audience,” Celi Tamayo-Lee, one of the women who was kicked out of the event, told The Guardian.

Those who feel he’s too moderate take issue with Buttigieg not supporting Medicare for All, free college tuition, his issues with the black community and his ties to billionaire donors. There are issues that don’t impact the LGBTQ community as a whole but impact individuals who are also queer.

While I have seen the purity test play out in the Tea Party, I have seen it even more in liberal groups

Over the past few years, it seems that many liberal groups have called for ideological purity (refer to Bernie’s call and Buttigieg’s call for abortion purity). Hence, I expect this to continue and certain groups to tear themselves apart.

To those who find themselves victims, please hear this: every person was made in the image of God. All of us have messed something up, but each of us can be forgiven when we ask for that forgiveness.

Three stories on how media targets children for sexual exploitation

  1. YouTube porn shock as site is flooded with hardcore sex videos from Roblox

The Sun reports on YouTube videos.

Roblox is aimed at children, and riffs on Minecraft by letting players create their own mini-games and virtual worlds.

But pervy players have exploited Roblox’s freedom, using it to create twisted fantasy worlds where they live out sex games.

(Read more at The Sun; however, be aware that there are semi-explicit illustrations)

Thankfully, my research found no easily-accessible scenes posted at YouTube

The Roblox videos that I could find all were quite innocent; however, I did not use key words that would be blocked by my work environment.

Therefore, it might be wise for parents to ensure their children do not use Roblox. If the children have started to use Roblox, it might be a good time to limit the use of the app to when there is adult supervision.

  1. Twitter’s Terms of Service explicitly allows pedophiles to discuss ‘attraction towards minors’ on their platform

Big League Politics reported how Twitter has continued its moral slide by allowing pedophiles to discuss their attraction to minors on their platform.

Social media giant Twitter has quietly amended their terms of service to allow for “discussions related to… attraction towards minors” to be allowed on their platform.

“Discussions related to child sexual exploitation as a phenomenon or attraction towards minors are permitted, provided they don’t promote or glorify child sexual exploitation in any way,” reads Twitter’s terms of service.

Twitter allow noted that they would allow for nude depictions of children on their platform in certain instances.

  1. Fox agrees to air a Super Bowl advertisement featuring drag queens after refusing to air an ad about abortion survivors

Lifezette reports in a 30 January 2020 article that the Fox network has agreed to air a Super Bowl advertisement featuring drag queens after refusing to air an ad about abortion survivors.

AbortionSurvivorThe Super Bowl is set to take place on Sunday, which means countless advertisers have spent the past few months working on the commercials that will air on Fox during the game. Unfortunately, it has just been revealed that FOX has refused to approve a powerful commercial about abortion survivors, yet the network had no problem with green lighting an ad featuring drag queens.

The pro-life group Faces of Choice is speaking out this week to slam Fox Sports for refusing to air an ad they produced during the Super Bowl, according to LifeSite News. The ad originally ran during this year’s March For Life, and it tells the story of fourteen people who survived abortions.

Back in July, Faces of Choice submitted a thirty-second version of the ad to be aired during the Super Bowl, but the network was not having it.

“We were one of the very first people to submit anything to them,” explained Lyric Gillett, the founder of Faces of Choice. “We met every single stipulation that they asked for and every time we met the line they moved the line further to request something else.”

Gillett went on to say that she was initially told by Fox that they would get back to her by October about whether or not the ad had been approved, but she never heard anything else from them. After she repeatedly tried to get in touch with Fox’s legal department, she was finally told in November that all Super Bowl advertising slots were full. Last week, however, Fox announced that more advertising slots had become available for the Super Bowl, so Gillett resubmitted the application.

At the time of this writing, Gillett has yet to hear back about the commercial.

Gillett expressed surprise that Fox asked her at one point to give them information about everyone who had donated to the ad. Though Gillett found this request to be “untenable,” she ultimately complied and handed over the information.

What Fox is doing is even more offensive given the fact that the network had no problem approving a Super Bowl ad that featured contestants from the reality television show “Rupaul’s Drag Race.” Drag queens Kim Chi and Miz Cracker will be appearing in a fifteen-second ad for Sabra hummus products, according to NBC News.

Four stories on the conflict between Christianity and the LGBTQ crowd

  1. First trans leaves Transgender Lifestyle

James Shupe Leaves ‘Fraud’ Transgender Lifestyle: ‘Legal Fiction Based on Pseudoscience’

Brietbart reports in a 7 January 2020 article on the exit of James Shupe from the transgender lifestyle.

JamesShupeJames Shupe, the man who became the first person to obtain a legal sex designation of “non-binary,” now says the transgender lifestyle is a “fraud.”

On Christmas Eve, an Oregon judge restored James (formerly Jamie) Shupe’s gender to male and allowed him to resume using his birth name.

A recent report at PJ Media noted that Shupe characterized his “non-binary” status as a “psychologically harmful legal fiction.”

“The lies behind my fictitious sex changes, something I shamefully participated in, first to female, and then to non-binary, have been forever exposed,” Shupe told PJ Media. “A truthful accounting of events has replaced the deceit that allowed me to become America’s first legally non-binary person.”

Shupe acknowledged achieving the first “non-binary” sex designation was a win for the radical LGBTQ lobby. Now, however, he said he has “corrected” his legal record “and LGBT advocates are no longer able to use my historic non-binary court order to advance their toxic agenda.”

“I am and have always been male,” he said. “That is my biological truth, the only thing capable of grounding me to reality.”

He added the “non-binary” sex designation is “fraud and legal fiction based on pseudoscience.”

“I was indoctrinated to believe that I had this thing called a gender identity and that suppressing it was causing my mental health problems,” he added. “It was all a lie.”

In January 2019, Shupe released a “public announcement” in which he declared he had resumed his biological male sex designation.

I am glad for Mr. Shupe for just this step.

As a Christian, I would like to lead him to a relationship with Jesus. However, that will not happen through the Internet at a blog. At best, this blog might be a reminder for me to keep my words here in close contact with my actions in public and private.

Nonetheless, I applaud Mr. Shupe for taking steps to leaving a lifestyle where greater numbers than the general population commit suicide.

Additionally, I applaud Mr. Shupe for coming out with this second change from transgender to his birth gender, because it benefits those who lift him up as an example. It would have been much easier for him to just fade into the background and enjoy the benefits of his most recent choice.

  1. Battling the LGBTQ+ push within evangelical churches

According to a 10 January 2020 OneNewsNow article, there has been a push by LGBTQ+ groups to infiltrate evangelical churches.

lgbtq-transgender-flag-protestThe organizer of a Bible-based conference says attendees will learn how to be “courageous in compassion without any compromise” in the face of a radical and growing threat to biblical sexuality.

The second annual “God’s Voice Conference: A Biblical Response to LGBTQ+ Tyranny” is being held April 17-18 in Oklahoma City to end the confusion surrounding the issue of “LGBTQ+ Christianity,” while exposing the misinformation being disseminated by the “Revoice” movement infiltrating the conservative Church.

According to conference organizers, the gathering this year will focus on equipping Christians to have an answer for radical LGBTQ+ activists, whose threats to biblical morality and fierce opposition to the freedom of speech, religious freedom, and biological facts on human sexuality continue to grow.

Stephen Black, executive director of First Stone Ministries, is an organizer of and speaker at the God’s Voice Conference. Black argues that Christians cannot cave when activists from the LGBTQ+ community aim to replace the biblical standard of human sexuality with progressive sexuality.

“Christians must awaken to the growing cultural and legal threats posed by the LGBTQ+ movement if the Church is to be prepared to stand against its tyranny and be victorious,” Black proclaims.

“God’s Voice Conference 2020 is designed to share the love of God and the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” he emphasizes. “[We] will equip pastors, ministry leaders and individual believers to be courageous in compassion without any compromise, because true compassion never compromises on God’s Voice – the Word of God – when it comes to sexual morality.”

Organizers of the conference offer this warning:

“From the religious freedom-crushing Equality Act to unconstitutional talk-therapy bans, from shocking Drag Queen Story Hours [at public libraries] to indoctrinated children seeking surgical ‘gender transitions,’ from radical LGBTQ+ activist pressure at Christian colleges to Big Tech censorship, Christians are facing unprecedented pressure to conform to the demands of this tyrannical movement.”

Regarding “Revoice,” remember Galations 1:8

Paul tells the Galations “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! (Galatians 1:8 NASB).”

Therefore, if anyone wants us to ignore a significant portion of the Bible (and there are many verses addressing the sinfulness of sex outside of marriage), we are to consider them damned.

  1. Fuller expels students over same-sex marriage and gets sued

According to a 12 January 2020 OneNewsNow article, Fuller Theological Seminary has expelled two students who were found to have violated the school’s standards. As a result, the students have sued.

Fuller-Theological-SeminaryTwo students are suing Fuller Theological Seminary, alleging it has violated anti-discrimination laws for expelling them once learning that they are married to people of the same sex.

The lawsuit filed on behalf of Nathan Brittsan, an associate pastor at Grace Baptist Church in San Jose, California, and Joanna Maxon – both graduate students pursuing their Masters of Divinity – argues that Fuller Theological Seminary’s standards do not “prohibit same-sex dating relationships or same-sex civil marriages,” the case states, according to Religion News Service (RNS). It also contends that neither of the students were asked if they engaged in “homosexual forms of explicit sexual conduct,” which is prohibited.

Government not to interfere in Church business

In the face of the students’ claims, all students are called upon in the admission process to abide by the school’s biblical code of morality.

“When students apply to Fuller Theological Seminary, they agree to adhere to a wide swath of biblically based Christian ethics by giving written consent to abide by the seminary’s community standards as a continuing condition of enrollment,” Becket Law informed. “This collective agreement shapes the worldwide ethos of Fuller and includes upholding the belief that God created marriage to be the permanent covenant between only one man and one woman, and that sexual union must be reserved for that relationship. The seminary’s community standards are clear that students are to abstain from sexual conduct outside of this sacred marriage covenant.”

While God calls us to minister to a lost world, we have forgotten the command to select leaders who are beyond reproach

Over the last few years, there has been a focus on the love of God (1 John 4:8). However, at the same time, there has been a seemingly willful ignorance of the holiness of God (2 Corinthians 7:1; Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8; and many other verses).

Similar to the way we have forgotten the justice of God, people have forgotten the high standards for leadership with the Church. Somehow the requirement that leaders “must be the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine …” (1 Timothy 3:2-3).

Therefore, although we must reach out to the lost person (Jude 1:23; Matthew 28:19; and many other verses) as they currently live and we must offer a better way.

  1. United Methodist Church announces official split over LGBTQ rights

BizPacReview reports on 4 January 2020 that the United Methodist Church has split over how it handles the lesibian, gay, and transgender pressures on it.

FirstUnitedMethodistChurchDoorsSometimes, break-ups are inevitable …

After a joyous 51-year run, it appears the United Methodist Church is slated for an unavoidable split over its congregants’ growing disagreement over LGBT issues.

Leaders of the church reportedly announced Friday that they’ve agreed to a tentative plan to split the church into two sub-denominations — one that’ll permit gay marriage and gay clergy, and another that’ll stick to “traditionalist Methodist” teachings.

What’s odd and inexplicable is that the “traditionalist Methodist” denomination will be the outlier, while the LGBT-friendly one will adopt the church’s original longtime name.

It appears the LGBT-friendly church will retain the United Methodist Church name after the division,” the New York Daily News reported Friday.

Moreover, any individual Methodist churches across the globe interested in maintaining traditional teachings will have to voluntarily sign up with the traditional denomination. Those that fail to sign up will “remain as a United Methodist Church” …

According to The New York Times, this split has been a long time coming.

“A separation in the Methodist church, a denomination long home to a varied mix of left and right, had been brewing for years, if not decades,” the outlet notes.

“It had become widely seen as likely after a contentious general conference in St. Louis last February, when 53 percent of church leaders and lay members voted to tighten the ban on same-sex marriage, declaring that ‘the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.’”

Note that the 53 percent applied to the church’s worldwide leaders. This is relevant because, while most Methodist leaders from the U.S. reportedly back homosexuality, their compatriots overseas do not. That’s why the vote wound up being against homosexuality — because the U.S. leaders were outvoted by their global counterparts.

Why not call this a split along the lines of Bible-believing and Bible-denying factions?

Rather than calling it a split between the “gay-friendly” and “traditionalist” factions of the United Methodist church, why not call it a split between those those who want to deny the Bible (specifically, there are at least the following verses that have to do with the topic of homosexuality: Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Timothy 3:2-3; 1 Timothy 1:8-11; and Jude 1:5-8) and those who want to focus on the love and forgiveness of God without requiring repentance?

Admittedly, God is love (1 John 4:8b); however, God is also holy (Isaiah 57:15). Therefore, to access God’s love and assuage His holiness, we are told on multiple occasions to repent (that is, stop sinning, as detailed in 2 Chronicles 7:14; 2 Chronicles 30:9b; Proverbs 1:23; Proverbs 28:13; Ezekiel 18:32; Joel 2:13; Zechariah 1:3b; Matthew 3:8; Matthew 4:17; Matthew 9:13; Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3; Luke 5:32; Luke 15:7; Luke 15:10; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; James 4:8; 1 John 1:9; Revelation 3:19; and other verses).

Of course, we are also told on multiple occasions to believe in God’s Messiah and accept God’s grace (Mark 1:15; Mark 16:16; John 1:12; John 3:16; John 3:18; John 3:36; John 5:24; John 8:24; John 10:38; John 11:25-26; John 11:40; John 14:1; John 20:31; Acts 2:38; Acts 13:39; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13-14; Romans 10:17; Hebrews 3:12; Hebrews 11: 6; 1 Peter 1:21; and other verses).

So, we must pray for the Bible-believing Methodists that they may be strengthened. Likewise, we must pray for the rest, so that they might see the truth.

Seems like now would be a good time to shut off Netflix

More Than A Million People Sign Petition Bashing Netflix Movie Implying Jesus Christ Is Gay

The Daily Caller reports that more than a million people have signed a petition against Netflix for their anti-Christian movie.

More than one million people have signed a petition against a Netflix movie that implies Jesus Christ is gay.

“The First Temptation of Christ” is reportedly a satirical representation of Jesus Christ, his mother Mary, and his father Joseph, in which Jesus returns home for his birthday party with a friend named Orlando, according to the New York Daily News. The publication reports that Orlando continuously hints in the film that he and Jesus are more than friends.

Netflix advertises the Brazil-produced film as a Christmas special, the Daily News reports, and it aired on Netflix Brazil on Dec. 3.

porta-dos-fundos-emmyThe comedy group Porta dos Fundos (which translates to Back Door) created “The First Temptation of Christ” following their International Emmy Award-winning production of “The Last Hangover,” a movie which satirizes the biblical Last Supper, the last meal Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before he was crucified.

The Porta group has made three insulting Jesus. Have they been as adventurous with Mohammad?

Maybe they remember the reaction of Islam to the insults of Charlie Hebdo (much as the editors of the New York Daily News refused to associate with Charlie Hebdo by blurring the images of the attacked publication).

The Porta group knows better than to attack any religious group for their beliefs; however, my bet is that this group of “humorists” would not do an equivalent exposé of environmentalists, Hillary, or another liberal target.

More than 1.5 million sign petition blasting Netflix for gay Jesus movie

The Washington Examiner tells of 1.5 million signers of a petition at Change.org protesting a gay Jesus movie.

More than 1.5 million people have signed a petition demanding Netflix to remove a film that depicts Jesus Christ as gay.

The First Temptation of Christ is the second satirical film about Jesus from the International Emmy-winning comedy group Porta dos Fundos, which translates to “back door.” Their new movie, which is 46 minutes long, is about Jesus returning to his parents’ home for his birthday with his new friend, Orlando. There are hints that Jesus and Orlando are romantically involved.

The film has received immense criticism in Brazil. One Brazilian congressman, Marco Feliciano, who has a history of anti-gay and lesbian comments, expressed his outrage on social media, noting that “Christians and non-Christians have asked me to take action against the irresponsible members of Porta do Fundo.”

The petition on Change.org has more than 1.5 million signatures as of Saturday afternoon. The description on the petition calls for Porta dos Fundos to “be held responsible for the crime of villainous faith,” and it called for a retraction.

Bishop Denounces Netflix as ‘Blasphemous’ over Gay Jesus

Breitbart reports in a 16 December 2019 article on a pronouncement by a Bishop in Tyler, Texas.

The Catholic bishop of Tyler, Texas, has denounced Netflix as blasphemous over its release of a Christmas Special titled The First Temptation of Christ portraying Jesus as gay.

Bishop_Joseph_Strickland,_Tyler,_Texas,_September_2012“Respect is the last thing they are thinking about, every Christian should denounce this film, it is blasphemy against the Son of God who suffered & died even for all who deny that He is Lord of the Universe,” said Bishop Joseph Strickland in a tweet Sunday. “His prayer for them…. ‘Father forgive them they know not what they do.’”

“Just cancelled Netflix,” the bishop tweeted a little later. “Hardly have time to watch it anyway but blasphemers don’t deserve a penny of support!”

Strickland also retweeted a message from the host of the popular “Dear America Podcast,” Graham Allen, who similarly condemned the film, arguing that “Jesus isn’t some ‘woke’ culture experiment for you to convince young people that biblical teachings are ‘debatable’?!”

Bishop Strickland is not alone in his outrage against Netflix over its Christmas special released in Brazil as A Primeira Tentaçao de Cristo, which shows Jesus Christ in a gay relationship and the Virgin Mary as a pot-smoker.

Last week, the Brazilian Catholic bishops conference released its own statement condemning the show, saying that “in the name of freedom of expression and artistic creativity, profoundly assault[s] the Christian faith.”

“Ridiculing the belief of a group, whatever it may be, in addition to constituting an offense under criminal law, means disrespecting all people, damaging the quest for an effectively democratic society that values all its citizens,” the bishops said in a December 12 statement.

While recognizing that we live in a pluralistic society and that not everyone has the same beliefs, the bishops called for respect of people’s beliefs as “an ethical and democratic requirement.

“Nothing allows anyone the right to vilify people’s deeply held beliefs,” the bishops said. “The right to freedom of expression does not nullify respect for people and their values.”

Although I hail from another tradition of Christianity, I stand behind the words of this Catholic Bishop

The problem that has been touched in this article is that there can be no separation between the legal and holy in our society. While these insults may be an affront to God (and, therefore, classify as blasphemy), our pluralistic society (and our forgiving God) demand that sinners be able to sin in this manner.

The problem with this arrangement is that that there is no reciprocity on the part of the left. There doesn’t seem to be anything but anecdotal accounts of gays that want to live and let live when it comes to the respect of beliefs. There is no Saturday Night Live that skewers Antifa.

Rather, they give out awards for mocking Christians. Additionally, they want their Christian slaves to involuntarily provide creative work in the form of photo essays (Photos by Elaine), flower arrangements (Baronelle Stutzman), decorated cakes (Jack Philips), and other work.

Therefore, it seems like now is the time for Christians to cancel Netflix. For those who do not have a Netflix subscription, I have heard that there have been campaigns of rejecting ads on Twitter and Facebook from Netflix.

Issues for Christians

Christians hunted, marked for death, meet secretly

OneNewsNow reports in a 6 December 2019 article how Christians suffer in Muslim-dominated lands.

syriachild.jpgFor those living in a Muslim island nation and various parts of West Africa, being a Christian means one is marked for death – and those who translate the Bible will likely never return to their homes again … alive.

Wycliffe Associates, one of the world’s leading Bible translation organizations, says workshops and strategies for Bible translation often spring forth from clandestine meetings between its team members and mother-tongue Bible translators.

Undercover Christians

Such workshops, reports Wycliffe Associates, “are springing out of the seeds sown in these secret meetings” – meetings that may take place on an isolated mountain top, or among church leaders disguised as tourists, or during a walk through a crowded market where translators’ prayers and conversations are drowned out by the noise and bartering.

Persecution for following Christ and translating Scripture into native languages in these volatile regions include being hunted, receiving death threats and working in secret to avoid imminent death.

Wycliffe Associates president and CEO Bruce Smith commends native Bible translators for secretly meeting with his ministry team, as the risk of being caught with foreigners could mean death.

“Despite the persecution and risks they face, Christians are reaching out to us, asking for the tools, technology, and training they need to launch Bible translation projects,” Smith states. “I am humbled and overwhelmed to see the tenacity of Christians in the most extreme anti-Christian environments on earth.

“In spite of the hostility of religious and governmental authorities, in spite of the risk of violence, of arrest, of torture, even death, Christians ardently press on,” he adds.

MAST (Mobilized Assistance Supporting Translation) – a collaborative translation method employed by the international nonprofit organization – equips native Christians to share the written Word where it is strictly forbidden. MAST projects currently under way across the globe number more than 1,200. The ministry also equips mother-tongue translators with technology that complements MAST, including computer tablets, Print-On-Demand equipment, and Bible translation recording kits.

In fact, in a number of areas that crack down on Christianity, believers must abandon their home country if they want to translate the Bible and stay alive.

“In some countries, we’ve helped move national Bible translators out of their own countries because their lives are literally at risk if they attempt to translate the Scriptures in their homeland,” Smith shares. “Some translators are at such risk that they will never be able to go home again. The translated Scriptures will have to be smuggled back across the border.”

Tragic stories of Christians giving up their lives and safety are not uncommon in this part of the world.

According to Wycliffe Associates, a translator in West Africa recently was murdered and his wife was mutilated; and one pastor – a hunted man – was forced to flee his country and now lives under a “virtual death sentence.” Regardless, says the ministry, that pastor remains firmly committed to the work of Bible translation for his language group.

Pray for an Islamic reformation where it moves from a cult of death

Pray for a change in the heart of Islam so that the focus moves from killing the enemies of Islam, from killing those who leave Islam, from visiting some form of “revenge” on those who have been deemed to insult Islam, from executing the deviants within the community, from falling on members of certain other named religious communities, and from otherwise focusing on death.

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (Matthew 5:44‭-‬45 NASB)

Speaking Truth not Tolerated at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

It seems that a pro-LGBTQ agenda has crept into the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as reported by the American Family Association.

SWBTS_Lopez.pngRobert Oscar Lopez is an outspoken witness to the power of God to transform a life.  He was raised by “two moms” and identified as bisexual for years before surrendering his life to Christ.

He has spent his life fighting. First, it was for his own life – for freedom from the clutches of homosexuality. Then it was (and is) against the attacks from the homosexual activist community. Read AFA Journal story “Breaking Free from a Culture of Shame” here.

This man’s resiliency is astounding.

And now he’s fighting one of the most powerful religious organizations in existence – the Southern Baptist Convention.

Prior to being hired in 2016 by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), Lopez was a tenured professor at California State University. In today’s culture, it is no surprise that a former homosexual now speaking from a biblical perspective would be persecuted.

After repeated subjection to senselessly demeaning investigations at the public university, the sense of relief Lopez experienced when “rescued” into a Christian seminary must have been palpable. The pressure to shut up about his testimony and matters of biblical sexual morality was a thing of the past. Or so he thought.

Last week, the morning after Thanksgiving Day, Lopez received an email notifying him that his position at SWBTS had been eliminated. He told AFA this wasn’t really a surprise to him. He had been asked to resign two months earlier by the provost, Randy Stinson.

“I was called into seven secret meetings,” he explained. “They would never put anything in writing. I was called in alone all the time. I didn’t know who was going to be in the meetings. And I had no forewarning about what was going to be brought up. It was very much like mental intimidation. … They told me people were watching me.”

As part of the series of meetings, Lopez was told he was held in low esteem by the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Initially, he was subjected to an onerous process, requiring him to submit requests before writing or speaking on sexual matters. But eventually, Dean Michael Wilkinson made clear that Lopez was to stop talking about all matters of sexuality, including his testimony, homosexuality, and sex abuse.

Lopez had been active in writing and speaking about the dangers of the Equality Act and abuse in the gay community. And he had drafted and submitted a resolution to the SBC supporting counseling to help lead people out of homosexuality.  These were all apparently giant no-nos for the SBC, which according to Lopez has embraced the “Revoice” ideology.  Revoice is a radical movement to promote normalization and acceptance of LGBTQ terms within the church – creating a slippery slope which many believe will lead to full-blown acceptance of homosexuality.

Nothing good comes from capitulation

As we know by the capitulation of Chick-Fil-A to the LGBTQ crowd or by any of any number of reports by Janet Mefferd on “Revoice,” giving in to the demands of the the LGBTQ crowd will only result in a new set of demands to be met. Therefore, the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary must not bend as it seems to be doing.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, (1 Corinthians 6:9 NASB)

Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth , and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, (Ephesians 6:14 NASB)

Hundreds of Pakistani Christians Sold as Brides to China

Breitbart reports in a 7 December 2019 article on the selling of

pakistan-christiansPage after page, the names stack up: 629 girls and women from across Pakistan who were sold as brides to Chinese men and taken to China. The list, obtained by The Associated Press, was compiled by Pakistani investigators determined to break up trafficking networks exploiting the country´s poor and vulnerable.

The list gives the most concrete figure yet for the number of women caught up in the trafficking schemes since 2018.

But since the time it was put together in June, investigators´ aggressive drive against the networks has largely ground to a halt. Officials with knowledge of the investigations say that is because of pressure from government officials fearful of hurting Pakistan´s lucrative ties to Beijing.

The biggest case against traffickers has fallen apart. In October, a court in Faisalabad acquitted 31 Chinese nationals charged in connection with trafficking. Several of the women who had initially been interviewed by police refused to testify because they were either threatened or bribed into silence, according to a court official and a police investigator familiar with the case. The two spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared retribution for speaking out.

At the same time, the government has sought to curtail investigations, putting “immense pressure” on officials from the Federal Investigation Agency pursuing trafficking networks, said Saleem Iqbal, a Christian activist who has helped parents rescue several young girls from China and prevented others from being sent there.

“Some (FIA officials) were even transferred,” Iqbal said in an interview. “When we talk to Pakistani rulers, they don´t pay any attention. ”

(Read more at Breitbart)

Why does this happen?

It happens because the Christian community of Pakistan has been isolated economically. It happens because China has limited its families to having one child per family. It happens because, with a preference for boys in Eastern cultures, generations of female babies have been aborted due to the one-child mandate.

It happens when a cowardly political class cannot find itself within its black heart to do the right thing. It also happens when a complacent media will not speak up for the underdog (especially when that media stands arrayed against a group like Christians).

Finally, it happens for reasons, both holy and evil, that fly out of our control. Nonetheless, we must prefer our brothers and sisters in Christ when moved by the Spirit.

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; (Romans 12:10 NASB)

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6 NASB)

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NASB)

Five fronts in the battle between darkness and Christians

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NASB)

  1. Illinois school district rules transgender students have unrestricted access to bathrooms

The Daily Caller reported in a 18 November 2019 article that a Chicago-area school district has decided to allow biological males who have determined themselves to be females to have full access to the changing areas and bathrooms for females.

An Illinois school district ruled Thursday that transgender students will have unrestricted access to bathrooms of their choice.

transgenderActivismA school district held a meeting at Palatine High School in northwest Illinois where board members voted to give unrestricted locker room and restroom access to transgender students, the Chicago station WGN9 reported. The board voted for the decision in a meeting attended by almost 500 people.

“Students shall be treated and supported in a manner consistent with their gender identity, which shall include students having access to restrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their gender identity,” the updated school policy states, according to WGN9.

The decision came after four years of controversy between parents, students, and the board. The Department of Education ruled in 2015 that the district where the high school is located, District 211, violated federal law by banning a student from using the girls’ locker room, according to Advocate. The district eventually said the student could use the girls’ locker room, prompting outrage and lawsuits from parents and students represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom.

Parents and students spoke out who were worried about their children’s privacy ahead of the ruling. But transgender students also spoke up, saying the school was impeding students by not allowing them to use the bathroom of their choice.

“The district should be helping transgender students, not putting more obstacles in front of them, because they face enough already,” said Palatine High School senior Mandy Logan, according to WGN9.

Look at the pictures. There will be 10 signs against mixing the bathrooms and 1 supporting. It is time to remove children from the tyranny of the minority.

It is time to support funding the child rather than funding the broken system.

We need to remove our children from the broken government-run schools where socialism is taught, math does not get taught, and radical left concepts (like LGBTQ ideology) have been enforced.

Additionally, when we are moving our children to new schools, we need to make certain that the new school (and ourselves) teach absolute truth. This is opposed to relativistic, change-as-it-needs-be truth that has become the mainstay of American education. We need to ensure that the truth (not “my truth” or “your truth”) finds itself center stage at the new school. Likewise, as parents, we need to provide spiritual leadership on the absolute truth of the Bible.

  1. Let’s be clear: What Pete Buttigieg preaches isn’t Christianity

God’s Word tells us, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!” (Galatians 1:8 NASB)

Therefore, we have to consider with clear thought the perspectives of OneNewsNow when they point out that the preaching of Pete Buttigieg does not fall within Christianity.

Manipulating God’s word, twisting it, misinterpreting and misapplying it, presenting a false gospel in the name of Jesus, have alarmingly become Mayor Pete’s niche in this campaign – and it deserves universal censure and rebuke.

I’m fine with the fact that I disagree with South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg on virtually every political issue. We can debate those.

Even though as a Hoosier myself, I am more intimately aware of the mismanaged manure pile his administration has produced, I know that can be endured and fixed.

buttigiegPreachesI am annoyed by his politically-motivated doublespeak regarding Vice President Mike Pence – claiming a positive working relationship with the “nice” Vice President, before sharpening his tongue to stab him as a “fanatical” homophobe when it was expedient. But I can tolerate that as standard political backstabbing.

Where I personally draw the line with Mayor Pete, however, is his persistent, naked attempts to hijack the Holy Spirit-inspired Scriptures for his own personal gain.

Pete Buttigieg (dark bkgrd)Manipulating God’s word, twisting it, misinterpreting and misapplying it, presenting a false gospel in the name of Jesus, have alarmingly become Buttigieg’s niche in this campaign. And it deserves universal censure and rebuke. If not from Americans at large, at least from Christians.

As a Christ-follower, my people are His people. My primary citizenship is in His kingdom. My principal concern is the propagation of, and fidelity to, His truth. And since Mayor Buttigieg has chosen to make the central focus of his presidential campaign this effort to misrepresent the Word of God to a watching world, I’ll happily go on record issuing a full-throated and unequivocal condemnation.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Buttigieg declared,

“There’s simply no way that a literal understanding of Scripture can fit into the Bible that I find in my hands. Jesus speaks so often in hyperbole and parable, in mysterious code.”

To anyone who takes Scripture seriously, this was a jarringly incoherent thought. Biblical scholars – including unbelieving ones – understand that far from any “mysterious code,” Jesus of Nazareth employed the use of parables in His teachings to ensure the lessons would be within the grasp of even a child. Buttigieg’s confusion on that point is either insincere for convenience sake or frighteningly revealing about his lack of exposure to the biblical text.

The Bible itself is a remarkably broad compilation of ancient texts that employ a wide range of genres. There are proscriptive texts as well as descriptive ones. There is poetry, personification, parable – and as any academic worth his salt will affirm, context doesn’t reflexively prevent “literal understanding” of a text.

What this intellectually silly statement does do, however, is reveal precisely why Mayor Pete swings so wildly and misses so badly when he attempts to speak from a position of biblical authority: he doesn’t understand or even appear to want to understand the Bible.

What he wants is what all human nature wants: to justify acting on his own urges and desires.

Mayor Pete wants to justify acting on his own same-sex desire and urge to be with another man romantically. So despite the objective condemnation of such relationships in Scripture, Buttigieg “contextually” erases such prohibition and declares,

“My marriage to Chasten has made me a better man. And yes…it has moved me closer to God.”

Mayor Pete wants to justify his own politically-motivated support for abortion. So despite the objective Scriptural affirmation of the inviolability of life in the womb, Buttigieg cherry-picks the singular account of God animating the first human by breathing life into his lungs, and irresponsibly extrapolates outward to say,

“[T]here’s [sic] so many parts of the Bible that associate the beginning of life with breath that there’s plenty of scriptural basis to reach different conclusions about that.”

Mayor Pete wants to justify his own goodness and promote himself a man of merited self-righteousness.

Christians need to imitate the Bereans and search the Word

In Acts 17:10-11, we find a positive report of some new believers when Paul writes:

The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. (Acts 17:10-11 NASB)

Like these people, we need to search the Old and New Testament. We need to know God’s commands to protect orphans and widows (since children and the weak, as would be include in orphans and widows, find themselves more vulnerable to the workings of the sex trade — which seems too well associated with the LGBTQ agenda). Hence, we might see how the following verses might apply to those made vulnerable by this agenda.

You shall not afflict any widow or orphan. If you afflict him at all, and if he does cry out to Me, I will surely hear his cry; (Exodus 22:22‭-‬23 NASB)

You have seen it, for You have beheld mischief and vexation to take it into Your hand. The unfortunate commits himself to You; You have been the helper of the orphan. (Psalms 10:14 NASB)

A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land. (Psalms 68:5‭-‬6 NASB)

The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked. (Psalms 146:9 NASB)

Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. (Proverbs 31:8‭-‬9 NASB)

Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:17 NASB)

Honor widows who are widows indeed; (1 Timothy 5:3 NASB)

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (James 1:27 NASB)

Although these verses focus on widows and orphans, the thought centers on the helpless. In our secular schools, all students are helpless in the hands of these powers.

  1. Atheist group issues a shocking complaint against Kanye’s Texas prison visit

The Christian Broadcasting Network reports that the Freedom From Religion Foundation has made some odd demands of the Houston Police Chief after a Kayne West concert at the jail.

Kanye West Houston JailA notorious atheist lobby group has issued a complaint to the Texas Sheriff responsible for allowing Kanye West into the Harris County Jail for an impromptu worship service.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation has urged Sheriff Ed Gonzales that this type of religious gathering must not happen again, after the Gonzales himself referred to it as a “church service” on Twitter.

“The Supreme Court has said time and again that the First Amendment ‘mandates governmental neutrality between religion and religion, and between religion and nonreligion,’” FFRF Director of Strategic Response Andrew L. Seidel explained in the letter. “By organizing what you admit to be a worship service, you crossed this line.”

FFRF added that Gonzales “has been elected to a secular office and to uphold a secular Constitution” and “cannot use that public office to promote his personal religion, even if it happens to be a religion Kanye West shares.”

The alleged “constitutional violation” was “egregious,” said FFRF, “because it imposed religious views on inmates — literally a captive audience — who have a deep and immediate interest in being seen favorably by the jail staff.”

In comments made following Kanye’s appearance, Gonzales told KHOU 11 that the whole occasion was “very uplifting,” noting that many of the inmates experienced God in a powerful way. “You can see some who were down on their knees in prayer – to even some of our teammates who were brought to tears,” he said.

Considering that the jail mess hall holds fewer than the total incarcerated, attendance could not have been mandatory.

Despite what the people at the Freedom From Religion Foundation believe, only people at the Houston who chose to attend the concert were there. Nobody was forced.

Although nobody who was in the jail was allowed passes to leave the jail during the concert, surely other options were available to the inmates.

  1. Message to Chick-fil-A: Say what you want – but you caved

Just to clear the air, OneNewsNow points out that the Chick-Fil-A issue was a relinquishing of ideals.

Chick-fil-A continues to have people scratching their heads over a decision to change its philanthropic structure.

chickfila“That was a gut punch when Chick-fil-A decided to compromise on its values,” says David Almasi of the National Center for Public Policy Research. “It’s something that’s going to hurt the chain more than it’s going to help it, despite what they say.”

On November 18, 2019, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, which is the corporate foundation of Chick-fil-A, Inc., announced it “will no longer make multiyear commitments and will reassess its philanthropic partnerships annually to allow maximum impact. These partners could include faith-based and non-faith-based charities.” (See related article from OneNewsNow)

Two of these partners have been The Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Liberal activists and organizations have expressed concerns that those ministries are “anti-LGBTQ.” It was for this reason that a majority of San Antonio City Council members voted to pull a contract with Chick-fil-A to put a restaurant in the San Antonio Airport. LGBTQ activists and organizations have also expressed concerns about Chick-fil-A’s expansion efforts in the U.S., Canada, and the UK.

Thursday, in a Facebook post, evangelist Franklin Graham shared details of a phone call he had with Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, son of Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy:

“Dan was very clear that they have not bowed down to anyone’s demands, including the LGBTQ community. They will continue to support whoever they want to support. They haven’t changed who they are or what they believe. Chick-fil-A remains committed to Christian values. Dan Cathy assured me that this isn’t going to change.”

But Almasi doesn’t buy it.

“The president and the COO, who is not a member of the Cathy family, made the comment when this was announced that ‘as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are,’ – and by saying that ‘who we are’ is someone who is going to change their giving priorities at this time is kind of playing their hand and showing that they are giving in to cancel culture,” Almasi argues.

“That was the thing that was so great about Chick-fil-A,” he adds. “It was refreshing to see a corporation that didn’t give into the leftist pressure campaigns, [but] that’s what they did – no matter what they say.”

Appeasement of bullies ‘will not work’

A pro-family activist who works to expose the truth about homosexuality says the fast-food giant is making a huge mistake by appeasing radical LGBT bullies.

“Already the homosexual lobby is demanding that Chick-fil-A establish a non-discrimination policy at its company,” says Peter LaBarbera, founder and president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality.

“They’re going to demand that Chick-fil-A sign onto the HRC Corporate Equality Index with its radical agenda for corporations. They’re not going to let go of Chick-fil-A; they are the political bullies of the century.

Recently, I cited a verse regarding the impossibility of Christians marrying non-Christians. This verse has standing with the agreement between Chick-Fil-A and the LGBTQ groups.

Christians cannot afford to make agreements with groups that compromise our central Christian ethics. Specifically, as the following verse instructs us, there can be no joining of the two:

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14 NASB)

  1. Let’s Take a Closer Look at the Pro-LGBT Group Chick-Fil-A Will Now Be Funding: Mat Staver Responds to Franklin Graham

The Christian Broadcasting Network published Mat Staver’s response to the Chick-Fil-A capitulation.

Franklin, you have done a huge disservice by not doing more investigation into Chick-Fil-A’s betrayal and capitulation to the LGBT agenda. While Dan Cathy may say the company has the same values, the company’s statements and actions tell a different story. The President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Tassopoulos continues to serve as an advisor to the Atlanta Boy Scouts. This alone should raise a red flag considering the Boy Scouts also capitulated to the LGBT agenda. He stated: “There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are.” “There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.”

ChikenIn 2014, Chick-Fil-A decided to stop funding the Paul Anderson Youth Home because it was accused of being “anti-LGBT.” But it still had funding commitments with the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, both of which are also falsely accused of being “anti-LGBT” because they have biblical policies on marriage and sex outside of marriage.

Now that the funding commitment has expired, Chick-Fil-A says it will no longer fund the Salvation Army and FCA, even though the Salvation Army fits within its giving priority of funding organizations that provide housing and food banks, and FCA provides education. Instead, Tassopoulos states Chick-Fil-A will now fund Covenant House International, which is much smaller that the Salvation Army (in only 31 cities) and an LGBTQ activist.

Tassopoulos, speaking of funding Covenant House, states: “This provides more focus and more clarity.” At least he is correct, and this clarity reveals the betrayal.

The founder of Covenant House, accused of being a Catholic priest pedophile, was sued for allegedly sexually abusing the youth who were seeking shelter and food. Covenant House proudly promotes LGBTQ on its website, referring to “LGBTQ Inclusion Initiatives,” and even doing an “inclusion assessment” at every one of its facilities.

Covenant House also proudly supports the New York City Gay Pride parade with its own float, banners, t-shirts, and hashtag #CovUnity.

Covenant House is recognized as a national funder of LGBTQ causes.

Chick-Fil-A dumps the Salvation Army because it wants to expand into new markets and now shuns originations the LGBT activists falsely call “anti-LGBT”, and then turns 180 degrees to announce that it will now fund Covenant House, a radical LGBTQ activist organization that celebrates homosexuality, transgenderism, and the entire LGBTQ agenda.

And, Covenant House does not stop at LGBTQ activism, it also takes girls to abortion clinics.

To save its own corporate skin, Chick-Fil-A has thrown good, biblical organizations under the bus and legitimized the false narrative of the LGBT activists. I attended a meeting yesterday in Washington, DC with national leaders, and, although the meeting was not about Chick-Fil-A, the leaders expressed outrage and betrayal over Chick-Fil-A’s betrayal.

(Become more educated at the Christian Broadcasting Network)

Christians, know what you are now funding.

Know that your Chick-Fil-A meals now fund the LGBT and the abortion narrative. If you still want to throw your money at it, so be it.
