Do not let them shift the blame

Just as Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA, pictured above) tried to blame the President for the crisis that the Congress created through years of inaction, Democrats continue to try to shift the blame. Do not let them do it.

“Airplanes Took Aim”: NY Times Shamefully Goes the Ilhan Omar Route in Describing How 9/11 Happened

On 11 September 2019, Red State pointed out the hypocrisy of the New York Times as the NYTwits cover for Ilhan Omar.

Five months ago, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said “some people did something” in a CAIR speech she gave where she talked about the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. The “some people” she was referring to, of course, were the radical Islamic terrorists who “did something” by committing the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 innocent people.

Hands-Off-Ilhan-RallyOutrage was swift and came from many corners including from President Trump. The New York Post published a brutal front page reminder in response to Omar’s reprehensible comments:

Unfortunately, on the 18th anniversary of 9/11 it seems that the New York Times took a page from Omar’s book in characterizing the horrific events of that awful day.

In a now-deleted tweet they posted early this morning, the paper wrote that “airplanes took aim” at the World Trade Center, rather than noting terrorists “took aim.” They also noted the WTC was where “more than 2,000 people died” rather than accurately reporting it was where “nearly 3,000 people” were killed. Here are a couple of screen captures of the original tweet:

Not only was that how the tweet was written, but the actual story originally contained the same language:

“Never forget” was the promise — not reassign blame

Although we must not assign guilt to the innocent, we also cannot become blind to the real danger. We cannot think that radical Islam can be disassociated with the murder of innocents (unless it turns from the more violent commands within its own tradition — at which point it ceases to be radical Islam). We cannot let our guard down, because the remembrance does not link to a sense of vengeance desired, but from the need to protect future generations.

Former ICE Director to Wasserman-Schultz: “I’ve forgotten more about this issue than you’ll ever know”

Real Clear Politics shares a recent dust-up between DWS and Former ICE Director Holman.

Former ICE director Tom Homan shoots down Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in a heated exchange over deferred action.

From Wednesday’s House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties hearing on Medical Deferred Action for Critically Ill Children:Former ICE director Tom Homan shoots down Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in a heated exchange over deferred action.

From Wednesday’s House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties hearing on Medical Deferred Action for Critically Ill Children:

Speaker Testimony
Wassserman Schultz: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Before I ask my questions, since it has not yet been done I think it’s important to really make sure that the jingoist, bigoted testimony of Mr. Homan is called out as nearly completely untrue, as being an outrage. And as a former official directing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, he should know better. So making sure that I am–
Unknown: Mr. Chairman.
Wassserman Schultz: No, no, this is my five minutes.
Homan: What did I say that was inaccurate?
Wassserman Schultz: I’m not asking a question.
Raskin: Okay, the gentlelady is recognized for five minutes. She’s made her point, and I will try to resolve any other issues at the end of her questioning.
Wassserman Schultz: Thank you. So I just think it’s important that it’s not accepted as accurate testimony.
Jordan: I just want to get–because your–your testimony is that the broader issue and I–this is critically important but we also have a broader issue that we have unbelievable numbers we have seen on the border with apprehensions and everything else, right?
Homan: Absolutely. And if I can respond to the earlier remark from Wasserman Schultz I have forgotten more about this issue then you will ever know. So to say my testimony is inaccurate is wrong. Everything I said here is accurate. Bottom line. If you want to go toe to toe I am here. I am here on my own time to speak to the American people about what is what and what is fact.
Wassserman Schultz: I am sure happy to go toe to toe with you Mr. Homan. Happy to do that any day.
Homan: Well, I–I am here. But you’ve got to let me respond to your question rather than dropping a bomb and running away.
Wassserman Schultz: It was my time (mumbling).
Homan: There is a crisis on the border and–and it is not going to go away if we keep enticing more and more–if we want to abolish ICE, we want to give away college education and drivers licenses and free medical care and rewarding illegal behavior you are never going to solve the immigration crisis on the border. It’s not going to happen.

I, for one, am tired of the Main Stream Media ignoring Democrats as they compound the border issue

Of course, to me, Democrats include the likes of the Koch brothers (who lobbied for and profited from illegal aliens in their chicken processing plants).

Furthermore, these Democrats also include those shamelessly ignoring the crisis at the border in order that they might:

  1. Absolve their compatriots of the inaction required by the likes of the Koch brothers
  2. Build a new identity-politics group from the illegal aliens
  3. Create a feeling of distrust between conservatives and the communities that might identify with the illegal aliens

With these groups identified, we must watch these Democrats and demand action.

Do not let Democrats re-write the genetic code

Although there is no “gay” gene, journalists continue the search

Kirby Anderson of Point of View points out a central flaw within the “gay” gene debate.

DNA molecule research

Two weeks ago, the largest study of the genetic basis of sexuality was published in Science. Based on the genomes of nearly 500,000 people, the research concluded that there was no “gay gene.” But you wouldn’t know that from some of the headlines.

Associated Press proclaimed that “New Genetic Links to Same-Sex Sexuality Found in Huge Study.” The Washington Post was a little less spectacular: “There’s No One Gay Gene, but Genetics Are Linked to Same-Sex Behavior.” Fortunately, you had some headlines like NPR that offered a better perspective: “Search for Gay Genes Comes Up Short in Large New Study.”

The range of headlines illustrates how political and politically correct any discussion of same-sex attraction and homosexuality has become. Researchers and gay activists have been looking for this elusive “gay gene” for decades in order to affirm the cliché that homosexuals were “born that way.”

What the researchers found is that a few genes might have some influence on same-sex sexual behavior. To put that in perspective, consider that about 60 percent of height is influenced genetically, while the rest is due to environment. The research concludes that genetic influence of same-sex behavior is less than a third of that.

I also found it interesting that the researchers actually consulted with LGBTQ groups before publication in order to “clarify wording and highlight caveats.” I doubt that has been done for too many other scientific research studies.

If you took just a sampling of the studies on identical twins and homosexuality, you could have predicted this reaction

By looking at the conclusions of a wide sampling of the scholarly articles on the occurrence of homosexuality with identical twins, you would have found phrases like:

  1. “(A)ttempts at final answers are only partially successful and beget still other scientific puzzles” (Whitam, Diamond, & Martin, 1993)
  2. “(M)ale homosexuality may be associated with a complex interaction, in which genes play some part” (Eckert, Bouchard, Bohlen, & Heston, 1986)
  3. “(T)he need of additional work in relation to the genetic aspects of homosexuality cannot possibly be questioned” (Kallman, 1952).

However, statements like the following were either cryptic or missing:

  1. “Discordance for sexual orientation in the monozygotic pairs confirmed that genetic factors are insufficient explanation of the development of sexual orientation” (King & McDonald, 1992). [Homosexuality cannot be inherited by only one individual out of two identical twins.]

Patriots’ Ben Watson Tells Media to ‘Stop Lying’ about Brees, Focus on the Family

Christian Headlines shows how Ben Watson called out the media for lying about Drew Brees and Focus on the Family.

ben-watson

A 15-year veteran of the NFL is defending New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees and Focus on the Family following mainstream media criticism of both.

Benjamin Watson, a tight end for the New England Patriots, said Monday the criticism against Brees and Focus on the Family was unfair and inaccurate. As Christian Headlines previously reported, Brees faced a backlash after he recorded a video promoting Bring Your Bible to School Day, which is being held Oct. 3 this year and is sponsored by Focus on the Family.

The criticism focused on the organization’s stance on LGBT issues, including its defense of the traditional definition of marriage. The articles that sparked the controversy said Focus on the Family was “anti-LGBT.”

Watson, who is known for his Christian views, previously played with Brees.

“My reaction was, first, that the article itself was misleading and a mischaracterization of Focus on the Family and of Drew. It was slanderous,” Watson said Monday on Fox and Friends. “And so my response was to stop lying with those sorts of labels.”

It is a lie, Watson said, to label Focus on the Family “as anti-gay, anti-non discrimination.”

“It’s a shame in this country right now, where if you adhere to certain biblical beliefs that we all have a right to choose what religion we adhere to, you’re labeled as anti,” he added. “What Focus on the Family does is uphold marriage. Family is the basic building block of society. [Focus on the Family] upholds those things, and they’re labeled [as] anti by other people. And there’s an agenda there. And that’s what really upset me.”

At one time, the Gay groups said all they wanted was acceptance
Now they seem to want to vilify anyone who doesn’t join them

As Jack Philips, Melissa Klein, Elaine Huguenin, Barronelle Stutzman, and a number of other Christians might testify, gay groups have been known to take peoples’ livelihoods in response to a perceived slight. This has to stop.

Loving and praying for our enemies must continue; however, standing by as our Christian brothers and sisters become victims of gay groups has to stop.

13 Reasons to Build the Wall & Change the Law

  1. Border Patrol Is Dropping Hundreds of Ill and Hungry Migrants at Southern California Greyhound Stations

The Intercept reports in a left-leaning manner on their view of the “war on immigrants” who are being provided rides to interior bus stations.

Greyhound-SanBernardino

The vans started coming on May 14, depositing their passengers into an alley by the Greyhound station in San Bernardino, California, and then taking off. The first night, the station’s small lobby quickly filled with migrants from Guatemala and elsewhere who had been abruptly dropped off there by the U.S. Border Patrol.

The manager of the station ended up getting many of them tickets to Los Angeles that night, said Luis Suarez, of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice. “It’s open 24/7, and he wanted them to have a warm place at least. San Bernardino closes at 2 a.m.” On summer nights, temperatures can drop 30 degrees in the city, which is located in the foothills of a mountain range about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

In the following days, word spread among community groups that Border Patrol was leaving large numbers of migrants at the bus station several times a day without any orientation or assistance. “Our first day on the scene was that Thursday, May 16,” Suarez said. “By then, some of these folks had been sleeping out on the street overnight. We found maybe 35 people, extremely hungry, some of the kids were sick, people hadn’t showered since they’d crossed the border and been kept in hieleras” (the holding cells known in Spanish as “iceboxes” for their freezing air conditioning).

“Border Patrol was not providing medical attention” before dropping off the migrants, said Erika Paz, also with the coalition. “Everyone had a cold. … There was one youth who was seriously dehydrated, and our local doctors were able to bring him back to health.” In recent months, five Guatemalan children have died while in U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, custody or soon after being released, of flu or other ailments.

While this article verifies points denied by Nancy Pelosi (that we don’t have a crisis at our borders or that no resources are needed at the border), it also skirts past issues that liberals create.

Obamacare was all about bankrupting the middle class for the purpose of giving health care to people who do not provide their own. Now the people in this article complain that people who entered America illegally have not received health care through the ICE agents.

They complain that an overburdened ICE is not taking these people to a bus station in Los Angeles (where there is a typhus epidemic).

  1. Border Patrol holding 900 at facility fit for 125 in situation that ‘could turn violent’

The Washington Examiner uses a 31 May 2019 article to illustrate how the surge of illegal aliens has come to backfire on those breaking into America.

BorderCamp

A government watchdog is warning of a potentially “violent” situation at one Border Patrol station on the U.S.-Mexico border where migrants are held in unsafe conditions. Even so, Homeland Security officials are not planning changes anytime soon.

The Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General released a report Friday that found “dangerous overcrowding” among adults being held at the El Paso Del Norte Processing Center in West Texas.

During an unannounced trip to the border May 7 to 8, Inspector General Office workers observed 900 people being held at a facility where the maximum capacity is 125 people.

Inspectors peered into cells and found 76 people in one fit for a dozen people. Another cell suitable for eight people held 41. A third cell with capacity for 35 was holding 155 people.

“Border Patrol agents told us some of the detainees had been held in standing-room-only conditions for days or weeks,” the inspector general report states.

CBP’s 2015 National Standards on Transport, Escort, Detention, and Search standards state that “under no circumstances should the maximum occupancy rate, as set by the fire marshal, be exceeded.”

For the sake of those who would think of breaking in to America, build a wall and close the border. Create and enforce sane laws that protect our citizens and allow for the inclusion of people willing to both provide a service to America (as opposed to 71% of illegals with children who collect welfare) and to become Americans (as opposed to refusing to assimilate).

Welcome_to_Texas

  1. Texas on pace for ANOTHER record month in illegal immigration: 19% increase from April

The Conservative Review reports in a 31 May 2019 article on Texas’ continued record-breaking illegal alien problem.

After the new record numbers of family units coming to the border almost every month this fiscal year, some might have thought the crisis would have maxed out in April and the numbers would begin decreasing. But preliminary data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehensions so far in May show that numbers continue to skyrocket.

According to preliminary weekly data used internally by CBP and given to CR by a Border Patrol agent who must remain anonymous because he is not authorized to speak to the press, 71,834 illegal aliens were apprehended between points of entry in the state of Texas from May 1 to May 28. That works out to a daily pace of 2,565.5 per day or a flow of 936,408 annually – just in the state of Texas alone. One has to go back to fiscal year 2006 to find this level of annual apprehensions in all four border states combined.

This ensures that May will now crush April’s unfathomable numbers. The same internal, preliminary CBP data for April shows that 60,476 illegals were apprehended in Texas during an equivalent 28-day period from April 3 through April 30. That means that illegal immigration into Texas likely increased roughly 18.8 percent in May over April.

Overall, in April, almost 99,000 illegal immigrants were caught between points of entry at the entire southwestern border, in addition to roughly 10,000 inadmissible immigrants at points of entry. Given that approximately 60 percent of the aliens have been coming in through Texas and Texas’ numbers increased almost 19 percent in May, it’s likely that when the final numbers are tallied for the entire border, May will easily set another overall record. Axios is reporting that 75,000 families have arrived, absolutely blowing out the record 58,000 in April.

On Wednesday, a record 1,036 illegal immigrants came in one large group at El Paso, which is the most of any single group coming in at once. Clearly, the situation is getting worse, not better.

While the overwhelming majority of the illegal aliens hailed from the three northern triangle countries in Central America, there were also a number of people from other Latin American countries and even other parts of the world. There were 1,045 from Brazil, 1,787 from Cuba, 1,118 from Ecuador, and 1,301 from Nicaragua. This suggests that a number of people in other countries relatively close to the smuggling routes are catching on to the de facto open border for those coming in with a child.

There were also illegal aliens caught from countries of possible terror concern, including 67 from Bangladesh and 40 from Uzbekistan. Special interest aliens (SIAs) usually pay smugglers much more to get smuggled in while agents are tied down with Central American family units, so it’s very likely that the apprehension rate for those from countries of particular concern is lower.

Just as most families cannot afford Obamacare, we cannot afford to take in this many immigrants when they are not self-supporting. When 71% of illegals with children are collecting welfare, but have never contributed a cent to the program, that creates a problem.

Of course, San Fran Nan and her protege AOC would suggest that we only need to raise taxes on the rich. However, what happens when (as happened in New York), the rich people that they wanted to use to raise taxes get up and move?

  1. Here’s How The Asylum System Is Being Exploited

HowTheAsylumSystemIsBeingExploited

The Daily Caller expounds in a 19 May 2019 article on the ways illegal aliens have been taking advantage of our asylum system. It tells how people who come to our borders have been coached to make claims of fleeing violence or religious oppression while, in actuality, they only flee economic conditions. Additionally, the uptick of “families” with children has its origins in American immigration law.

Tens of thousands of apprehended migrants from the Central American countries driving the border crisis exploit loopholes in the immigration system by making false asylum claims, according to data, experts and surveys.

The loopholes allow “people with suspect asylum claims … to make their way into the interior of the United States and disappear,” one expert told The Daily Caller News Foundation. Data shows only about half of the migrants from those countries who claim asylum actually file a formal application after being let into the U.S.

Northern-Triangle-2017-Reasons-for-LeavingAsylum is a status reserved for individuals who face persecution in their homeland, but less than 4% of migrants from the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras exclusively said they were fleeing violence, while 72% cited economic conditions as their sole reason for leaving, according to a 2017 survey of deported migrants by the Migration in the Southern Border of Mexico (EMIF).

Just 10% cited both violence and economic conditions as motivating factors.

“The vast majority of current Central American asylum seekers — by their own admission — are economic migrants who do not qualify for asylum, because they are not subject to persecution on the basis of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group,” Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) research director Matt O’Brien told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Of course, the ACLU and a number of other organizations gladly coach illegal aliens in the correct words to say to game the system. Sadly, some of the groups that I would otherwise support (like Catholic Charities) are known to coach illegals in methods of lying to game the law. Were it not for the fact that charities like this get funds from the government to take care of illegal aliens who have entered the system, this would not seem so bad. However, with this in mind, it seems very self-serving of them.

  1. Obama Border Official Brooks: Trump Is ‘Right’ About Border Crisis, But He Has ‘No Policy Process’

david_brooks

In a 6 April 2019 Breitbart article, Obama’s Border Official David Brooks is quoted as having agreed with President Trump (but only to the degree that would admit the obvious).

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated that President Trump is correct that there is a crisis on the border, but Trump lacks a policy process and a wall isn’t the solution.

Brooks said, “I give him a little credit. He has been saying there’s a crisis on the border for the past six months and eight months, and he’s right. And I think some of us have downplayed that.”

It’s good to see that, when Nancy Pelosi adamantly denies the reality of the crisis at the border, someone with knowledge on the Democrat side is willing to stand up and tell the truth.

DallasShelter

  1. Dallas, Houston considered for new migrant shelters as monthly apprehensions expected to reach 100,000

This 8 April 2019 Dallas News article pointed out how several mega-centers have been planned for Dallas and Houston.

Thousands of asylum-seeking children could be headed to Dallas as the federal government looks to relieve pressure on a bloated immigration system and overwhelmed nonprofit shelters along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has contacted Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins to gauge the county’s willingness and ability to house some migrants as shelters along the border become overwhelmed by the number of asylum seekers vying to stay in the U.S.

Jenkins said his office received a letter from HHS Regional Director Fred Schuster, informing him that Dallas was being scouted as a possible shelter location.

“I let him know that we are ready, willing and able to help out these kids,” Jenkins said. “I asked him to let us do our part.”

A HHS spokesperson confirmed that the Office of Refugee Resettlement in HHS’ Administration for Children and Families is assessing vacant properties in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston for “potential future use as state-licensed permanent shelter locations for unaccompanied alien children.”

Other cities being looked at are Phoenix, Arizona and Atlanta, Georgia. HHS is considering adding shelters to avoid using temporary shelters, like the Tornillo tent city. The development comes as apprehensions for the month of March are projected to rise to more than 100,000, with some experts concerned that totals could exceed 150,000 in the coming months.

On the border, the situation continues to have the look of a crisis: Troops are deployed, lining concertina wire on steel bollard fences. Border Patrol agents rounding up hundreds of migrants and showcasing them to the media.

Sadly, these shelters proved inadequate for the surge that occurred shortly after these shelters were announced. It seems that the illegal aliens are looking at the accommodations being prepared and this encourages them and others to come.

CubansSeekAsylum

  1. Inspired by migrant caravans, new wave of Cubans seek U.S. asylum

According to 9 April 2019 Reuters article shares how Cubans have been making a new push for asylum.

Isel Rojas put his dream of leaving Cuba on hold when the United States ended a generous immigration policy for island residents. But watching coverage of migrant caravans heading from Central America toward the United States on Cuban television last year, he began to see a new path.

One morning in January, he woke up and told his wife he was finally ready. Fifteen days later, he was gone.

“If they can do it, why can’t we?” said Rojas, a 48-year-old who worked in agriculture in the eastern city of Holguin, recalling the images of young men and families traveling en masse to the Mexico-U.S. border.

Rojas is now waiting to apply for U.S. asylum in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez, which has become a magnet for Cuban migrants.

Political repression and bleak economic prospects remain the primary reasons cited by Cubans for migrating from the Communist-ruled island, a Cold War foe of the United States. But some in Ciudad Juarez say news of the caravans also motivated them, giving them the impression the United States was accepting migrants.

Since early last year, the caravans have been a frequent target of U.S. President Donald Trump as he advocates for stricter immigration policies. Critics say the president’s statements about the caravans, including a series of angry tweets, have ironically enlarged the groups and publicized asylum as a possible avenue to legal status.

“The person who created the media coverage and who drove the issue of the caravans has been President Trump,” Tonatiuh Guillen, the head of Mexico’s National Migration Institute, said on local radio last week.

The addition of Cubans to those flows is adding to the pressure on already overwhelmed shelters and border authorities in Mexico and the United States. More than 100,000 people were apprehended or presented themselves to authorities in March, the White House said on Friday, calling it the highest number in a decade. Trump has threatened a border shutdown or tariffs on Mexico in retaliation.

DrugsAtBorder

  1. “The Violent Type of People”: Drug Cartels taking Advantage of Migrant Tidal Wave Distraction

In a 8 April 2019 Christian Broadcasting Network article, we find how drug running and waves of illegal aliens has affected the ranchers along the border.

US Customs and Border Protection shut down a border crossing Saturday between Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas, saying the crisis of migrants crossing illegally requires the agency to deploy its agents along the unguarded border fence.

But in nearby New Mexico, the risks to America go even beyond the flood of illegal immigration.

As the tidal wave of migrants at the southern border dominates the attention of authorities, cartels are using the distraction to ship record amounts of drugs into the US. So far this fiscal year, seizures of cocaine along the border are on pace to triple last year’s totals.

The Johnson family has been ranching 160,000 acres of the New Mexico desert for four generations.

Joe Johnson tells CBN News, “Well my grandfather came here in 1918, and we’ve been here 101 years this year.”

He’s seen the makeup of illegal border crossers change over the years. “I think what we have coming through us is the violent type of people… More drug traffic.”

“This right here is what the border patrol calls nineteen canyon. And we’ve been told many times we ought to stay out of here because of the danger. But we can’t. We have to keep an eye on our border.”

Amazing that the organization that has been known to chop off the heads of those who cross them might also use these illegal aliens as human shields or decoys to keep the police from their illegal and poisonous product.

Migrant Families Arrive In Busloads As Border Crossings Hit 10-Year High

When even National Public Radio starts to take notice in a 5 March 2019 article, you know that the border crisis has grown beyond a simple crisis.

The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended more than 66,000 migrants at the Southern border in February, the highest total for a single month in almost a decade.

The majority of those arrested were migrant families or children traveling alone or without a parent, according to figures released Tuesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Many of the migrants say they’re fleeing criminal gangs and poverty in Central America to seek asylum in the United States.

“This is clearly both a border security and humanitarian crisis,” said CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan at a press briefing.

Between October and last week, Border Patrol agents have picked up more than 260,000 people — a 90 percent jump over the same period a year ago.

As we see from the YouTube video posted by a South Texas resident during January 2019, the border crisis exists.

  1. Although the media attempts to hide it, more of the murders than they report have come by way of illegals

Although the KRGV went to great measures to conceal that a shooter was a Mexican national, they let it slip.

An 18-year-old man is being held without bond on a capital murder charge after Houston authorities say he fatally shot two brothers in an ambush attack from a rooftop.

Marlon Valdez was being held Monday in the Harris County jail after appearing before a judge a day earlier who denied bond for the Mexican national.

Authorities say Valdez was atop an abandoned home Thursday and armed with a semi-automatic rifle when he fired on a group of people as they arrived to settle a lingering feud with another group.

Police Chief Art Acevedo previously said the “coward shot these young people like they were deer.”

Naturally, the hometown paper (the Houston Chronicle) hid the fact that this murderer was an illegal alien. Now, all of their articles on the perpetrator have been deleted.

  1. The Story of Another Angel Dad

USA Today provides the story of an Angel Dad who lost his daughter to an illegal alien.

In his declaration of a national emergency on our southern border, President Trump recognized the Americans who experienced the consequences of that emergency firsthand: angel moms and dads.

I never expected I would be one of them.

My beautiful daughter, Mandy, was a 28-year-old sixth-grade teacher at Eastwood Heights Elementary School, and the center of our family. She was my world, she was my wife’s best friend and, most importantly, she was my baby girl.

On the morning of November 22, 2018 — Thanksgiving Day — a man who should never have been in our country drank several beers before getting behind the wheel of a car. He blew through two red lights at an intersection, killed my daughter, and changed our lives forever.

Surveillance footage shows that Mandy was using a crosswalk as she crossed the street. A witness described the sound of the impact as being so loud that he thought two vehicles had collided, not that a human being was struck. My daughter died on the spot.

We should not have even one of these. Sadly, there were enough angel parents to pack Nancy Pelosi’s office so that she had to sneak out the back.

  1. Illegal immigration at worst rate since 2007

The Washington Times even reported in a 5 March 2019 article how illegal immigration had hit the worst rate since 2007 (when Obama posted billboards and distributed leaflets in Mexico telling how to game the system).

Illegal immigration continues to break records on the southwestern border — and they’re not good ones.

The number of families snared trying to sneak into the U.S. soared by 50 percent in one month alone, setting an all-time record with more than 36,000 family members apprehended, Homeland Security officials announced Tuesday.

The government has also encountered some 70 groups of at least 100 migrants during the first five months of the fiscal year, shattering records and placing new challenges on Border Patrol agents.

The mini-caravans are being funneled to some of the remotest parts of the border, where there is little in the way of medical help and it takes hours to process and transport the groups. That takes agents off the line, and drug smugglers use the distraction to send across their shipments, top border officials said.

“We are facing alarming trends,” said Kevin K. McAleenan, commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

These are records that we don’t need to break.

How a enforced border keeps us healthy

Border Patrol struggles with flood of sick migrantsSick migrant

The Washington Examiner reports in a 27 January 2019 article how the Border Patrol has started to feel overwhelmed by sick illegal aliens.

Border Patrol agents have spent nearly 20,000 hours since October driving asylum seekers to and from hospitals for medical evaluations, according to newly released Department of Homeland Security data.

Since Oct. 1, 2018, the Border Patrol, which works in rural areas between border crossings, has “seen an increase in the numbers of apprehended individuals requiring medical assistance.”

A total of 2,224 migrants, primarily from Guatemala and Honduras, have been hospitalized due to health issues that could not be treated on site in the last month alone, according to a CBP statement.

(Read more at the Washington Examiner)

With a small (but significant) minority of our population not trusting vaccinations, we don’t need the added burden of a sick population coming into the nation. In the past, America quarantined sick immigrants.

With flesh-eating bacteria and Ebola causing problems in certain sectors of the globe, is there a reason to open up a portion of our border by not having a barrier?

Los Angeles typhus epidemic

Typhus Epidemic Worsens in Los Angeles

According to a 31 January 2019 article from the local affiliate of NBC, a typhus epidemic has worsened.

A veteran Los Angeles City Hall official is one of the latest victims of an epidemic of the infectious disease typhus that continues to worsen across LA County.

For months, LA County public health officials have said typhus is mainly hitting the homeless population.

But Deputy City Attorney Liz Greenwood, a veteran prosecutor, tells NBC4 she was diagnosed with typhus in November, after experiencing high fevers and excruciating headaches.

“It felt like somebody was driving railroad stakes through my eyes and out the back of my neck,” Greenwood told the I-Team. “Who gets typhus? It’s a medieval disease that’s caused by trash.”

Admittedly, the typhus epidemic in LA likely stems from the weather, drug use, and cleanliness issues of the homeless community.

Still, do we need to make this worse by keeping our Southern border open?

Migrant with flesh-eating bacteria detained at US border

Migrant with flesh-eating bacteria detained at US border

We read in a 25 January 2019 Associated Press article that an illegal alien with flesh-eating bacteria has been turned over by Border Patrol to a US hospital.

A man among a group of migrants detained in a desolate part of New Mexico near the border with Mexico has been diagnosed as infected with flesh-eating bacteria, the U.S. Border Patrol said Friday.

The man was taken to a hospital in recent days after telling a federal agent that he had a growing rash on his leg, U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Carlos Antunez said.

Flesh-eating bacteria are a rare condition called necrotizing fasciitis that spreads quickly and can be fatal. The bacteria usually gets into the body through a minor cut or scrape and can cause a serious infection that can destroy muscle, skin and other tissue.

Another 300 migrants, mostly Central Americans, were detained Thursday south of Lordsburg near an official U.S.-Mexico border crossing, Antunez said. Some had illnesses and injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

The sparsely populated, desert area has experienced a significant influx of large migrant groups recently.

Nearly 10,000 migrants have been detained at New Mexico’s three Border Patrol stations since Oct. 1, officials said.
There were 12,800 detentions at the three stations from October 2017 through September 2018.

Since this bacteria generally comes from open wounds contacting sewage in warm water, this might underscore the magnitude of the numbers coming to the US. Shouldn’t we be securing our Southern border?

Texas says it found 95,000 non-citizens on voter rolls

Texas says it found 95,000 non-citizens on voter rolls; 58,000 have voted

According to a 26 January 2019 Fox News article, over 58,000 fraudulent voters have been identified in Texas.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Friday that the state has discovered 95,000 non-citizens on the voter rolls going back to 1996, 58,000 of whom have voted in at least one Texas election — an announcement likely to raise fresh concerns about the prospect of voter fraud.

Texas has some of the toughest voter ID laws in the nation and has been one of the main battlegrounds in the Republican-led fight against alleged voter fraud. The office, in a statement, said that 33 people were prosecuted for voter fraud last year, and 97 were prosecuted between 2005-17. There are 16 million people in Texas registered to vote.

“Every single instance of illegal voting threatens democracy in our state and deprives individual Texans of their voice,” Paxton said in a statement.

The New York Times reported that the findings were a result of of an 11-month investigation into records at the Texas Department of Public Safety. Gov. Greg Abbott praised the findings and hinted at future legislation to crack down on voter fraud.

If we do not secure our voting, then we do not have verifiable elections. This needs to be fixed.

We need to prosecute those who voted illegally. Additionally, we need to take steps to ensure this does not happen again. That includes building a wall.

Migrant Caravan Swells to 12,000

Migrant Caravan Swells to 12,000 at Mexico’s Southern Border

Breitbart tells us in a 26 January 2019 article how another 12,000 potential illegal aliens have aimed at the the US Southern border.

The ranks of a new Central American migrant caravan reportedly grew in size to more than 12,000 as of Friday. The caravan is now heading to Mexico’s southern border.

Mexican immigration officials in the city of Ciudad Hidalgo, which borders Guatemala, are establishing procedures to expedite the process in which to approve one-year humanitarian visas for members of the Central American migrant caravan who are arriving daily. The one-year humanitarian visas, promised by Mexico’s new President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is a newly adopted policy which allows migrants to legally travel and work during their stay in Mexico.

The new policy of handing out humanitarian visas began on January 17 in response to the new caravan of primarily Honduran migrants who left their home country and headed towards the Mexican border on January 15. Officials originally estimated the caravan’s size at about 2,000. Mexico now claims the caravan’s population swelled to over 12,000 migrants, according to local media and Breitbart Texas sources.

Officials put the new visa policy from President López Obrador in place to deal with caravan migrants as an attempt to prevent them from traveling unaccounted for throughout Mexico. Officials say it will also prevent the caravan members from having to illegally enter Mexico from Guatemala by crossing the Suchiate river.

As long as there is a better economy in the US than in Central America, it looks like this will keep up. One news source even said that one country was paying caravan members to come to the US. For this reason alone, we need a wall.

Mortality on the border: it’s a dangerous trek

Nearly 400 Migrants Died Crossing Unsecured U.S. Border in 2018

In a 1 January 2019 Breitbart article, the deadliness of the trek to America comes into focus.

Nearly 400 migrants lost their lives while or shortly after crossing the U.S. border with Mexico. More than half died in Texas.

In 2018, at least 376 died while crossing the border from Mexico into the U.S. or shortly thereafter, according to the International Organization for Migration’s Missing Migrant Project. Due to the partial shutdown of the U.S. government, the organization has not updated the numbers since December 21.

The organization reported the deaths of 214 men, 20 women, and four children. In addition, 138 sets of remains could not be identified by age or sex.

Of the reported 376 migrant deaths, more than 230 occurred in Texas, Breitbart News reported. Forty-eight of those occurred in Brooks County alone, which is located about 80 miles north of the Texas-Mexico border.

An exact number of migrant deaths is not known because many deceased migrants are never found.

With the exception of the two Guatemalan children who died recently after crossing the border into New Mexico, the deaths of the other 374 migrants drew little attention from U.S. media.

In order to prevent people from attempting this deadly trek, we need a wall.

Democrats Offer Plan to Release All Child Traffickers at Border into U.S.

Brietbart reports in a 3 February 2019 article how Democrats have plans to release child traffickers at the US border.

The House Democrats’ first offer to President Trump in negotiations to fund his proposed United States-Mexico border wall includes a provision that would end all immigration enforcement for migrants trafficking children across the southern border.

The draft budget provides the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency with $7.4 billion, nearly $850 million less than requested by the Trump administration, and funds only 1,250 beds for adults and migrant children coming across the border this year, a decrease in detention space.

Attached to that funding, though, is an immigration enforcement ban first introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and supported by every Senate Democrat. The Democrats’ offer demands that all immigration enforcement end for any adult crossing the border with a child by the end of Fiscal Year 2019.

Rather than being held in detention for a period of time, those adults and the migrant children they trafficked across the U.S.-Mexico border would be released immediately into the interior of the country.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) previously called the plan the “Child Trafficking Encouragement Act” as it ensures that adults bringing children to the southern border would gain immediate access into the U.S. without fear of being deported or turned away.

No need to declare an emergency

No need for Nancy’s approval for funds

10 U.S.C. § 284 allows the military to build walls and roads

I have included a transcript of the words exchanged between Representative Mo Brooks (R) and Under Secretary John Rood.

Speaker Testimony
Rep. Brooks: I want to direct your attention to 10 United States Code § 284 which authorizes President Trump to deploy the United States military to the southern border to build fences and to do a lot of other things, and for clarity, if you look it up in the dictionary the word fence includes the word barrier and the word barrier includes walls made of a wide variety of different materials. So that having been said, it seems to me that 10 U.S. Code § 284 can be used by the President of the United States to direct the United States military to build a wall. Now as of today, you’ve mentioned military forces along the southern border, have any of them been deployed pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 284?
Under Sec. Rood: Congressman, I don’t believe any of our forces have been deployed pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 284. You are correct, however, that that use of authority would authorize the secretary of defense to erect barriers, roads, fencing, those types of materials to disrupt drug smuggling.
Rep. Brooks: Does 10 U.S.C. § 284 as you understand it, require the declaration of a national emergency before it is implemented?
Under Sec. Rood: No.
Rep. Brooks: It does not?
Under Sec. Rood: No.
Rep. Brooks: Has President Trump, to your knowledge, ever used 10 U.S.C § 284 to direct the military to build the wall that is necessary for border security?
Under Sec. Rood: No, not to my knowledge, Congressman.
Rep. Brooks: If President Trump were to direct the Pentagon and the United States military pursuant to 10 U.S.C § 284 to build such barriers as are necessary to secure our southern border from drug trafficking and international crime cartels would the United States military obey that order?
Under Sec. Rood: If we judge it to be a lawful order, yes sir. And I assume it would be.

Three things local news hasn’t reported about the wall

Murders in Mexico rise by a third in 2018 to new record

Reuters reports in a 21 January 2019 article that murders rose in Mexico by 33%.

Murders in Mexico rose by 33 percent in 2018, breaking the record for a second year running, official data showed, underlining the task facing the new president who has pledged to reduce violence in the cartel-ravaged country.

Investigators opened to 33,341 murder probes compared with the previous year’s record of 25,036, according to information from the Interior Ministry published on Sunday.

Mexico has struggled with years of violence as the government has battled brutal drug cartels, often by taking out their leaders. That has resulted in fragmentation of gangs and increasingly vicious internecine fighting

Never mind the opioid crisis made possible by the cartels sending illegal drugs across the border, Nancy. Never mind the lives destroyed by the illegals who kill our mothers, sisters, brothers, and fathers — all the while you refuse to meet with grieving angel moms, Nancy.

Nancy, since you don’t recognize facts brought to you that you don’t like — why didn’t you live by your own words. If walls are immoral and keeping people out is not what Americans do, why don’t you open your doors to Laura Loomer and the friends she brought you?

Border security is national security

2: The local press doesn’t report the desire for the wall

Most voters want secure border and say wall not immoral

OneNewsNow reports in a 15 January 2019 article how a recent poll from Rasmussen Reports contradicts the Democrat message.

In the face of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) charge that building a secure wall at the United States-Mexico border is immoral, most American voters (53 percent) disagree, while less than four in 10 embrace the pro-immigration Democrat’s advocacy of open borders.

“Fifty-three (53) percent of likely U.S. voters think it is better for the United States to tightly control who comes into the country,” Rasmussen Reports announced Monday from its latest phone and online survey conducted on 1,000 likely American voters from Jan. 10–13. “Thirty-nine (39) percent disagree and say it is better to open our borders to anyone who wants to come here – as long as they are not a terrorist or a criminal.”

(Read more at OneNewsNow)

One insane point that comes out by reading the OneNewsNow article seems to be how closely those self-identified Democrats in the poll fashion their opinions so closely to the talking points of the Democrat leadership (as opposed to the talking points of the Democrat leadership in 2008).

American Family Association Survey Finds Support for Wall Funding

The AFA publication The Stand reports in a 15 January 2019 article how their poll also supports the President’s message on the wall.

American Family Association (AFA) conducted a new survey on border security. The purpose of the survey was to identify the interest of AFA supporters on the issue of border security and to gauge the level of support they had for President Donald Trump’s plan for constructing a wall on the southern border. In the first few hours, nearly 20,000 people responded! In all, 34,514 respondents weighed in for the three-question survey that ended Friday afternoon.

First, nearly all respondents (96%) said they support President Trump’s plan for a physical barrier at the southern border. A very small number of respondents (3%) opposed the president’s plan. Respondents having no opinion on the president’s plan were few (1%).

The most startling statistic of the survey is that an overwhelming majority (90%) of AFA supporters want President Trump to continue the partial government shutdown to force Congress to fund construction for the border wall.

Building a wall on the U.S. southern border was a signature campaign promise of then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump. His strong stance on border security was one of the main reasons he was catapulted into the presidency.

Despite a partial government shutdown, President Trump is maintaining a firm resolve to secure government funding to build the wall. Democrats in Congress seem determined in their resolve to obstruct the very agenda that put the president in the White House and are refusing to allocate funds for a border wall. Congressional Republicans are standing with the president.

Angel moms try to meet with Nancy Pelosi

3: The local press will not show the Democrats when they refuse to listen to American victims of illegal alien crime

Angel Moms Show Nancy Pelosi’s Office Walls Kept Them Out

Breitbart reveals through a 16 January 2019 article how Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi dodged a meeting with the mothers of victims of illegal aliens.

Angel families stormed Pelosi’s office Tuesday asking for the Speaker to meet with them and hear their pleas for a wall and border security.

“It’s nice walls in here, all the way, four walls in here,” said angel mom Sabine Durden. Her son Dominic Durden was killed by an illegal alien. Durden asked the staff if she was to go through the secondary office door, would she be arrested. A Pelosi staffer simply told Durden she would ask her not to go through.

Durden then told the staff, “We asked my son’s killer not to and he still did.” – a reference to the foreign national who illegally crossed the U.S. southern border before killing her son. “And Pelosi doesn’t care about that.”

But, of course, nobody ever accused San Fran Nan of being broad minded. Or open. Or fair.

I only wish that local angel moms (like Pasadena, Texas resident Mary Ann Mendoza) would get a response from local Democrats — especially those [like Lizzie Fletcher] who promised they would not be under the thumb of Nancy Pelosi).

Signs the AP is full of liberal sh**

The Associated Press lede: Signs of GOP unease over shutdown ahead of White House talks

According to a 4 January 2019 Associated Press article, the President should immediately cave on his demand to fund the border wall.

For the second time in three days, congressional leaders arrived at the White House Friday for talks with President Donald Trump amid signs of growing Republican unease over the prolonged partial government shutdown.

The meeting on the 14th day of the shutdown came after House Democrats muscled through legislation to fund the government but not Trump’s proposed wall at the U.S.-Mexico border. As the impasse over border funding dragged on, some GOP senators up for re-election in 2020 voiced discomfort.

But Trump dug in ahead of the meeting, writing in a letter to Congress, “Walls work. That’s why rich, powerful and successful people build them around their homes.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said even though the new Congress has convened since the last session at the White House, “the basic steps that are needed to end this unfortunate standoff really haven’t changed at all.”

McConnell has said measures approved by the House are non-starters on his side of the Capitol without the president’s support.

“Any viable compromise will need to carry the endorsement of the president before it receives a vote,” he said.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who is close to Trump, said he spoke to the president Thursday about a potential compromise package that would include border wall money and some way to provide legal standing for the young immigrants here illegally but working or attending school under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

“He’s open-minded to this,” Graham said in an interview, but he added the president “hasn’t committed.”

Pelosi has already said she opposes trading DACA for the wall, and it’s unclear if other Democrats and Republicans would be willing to engage in immigration negotiations. But Graham called such a compromise the best way out of the shutdown.

  3. And the invasion of diseases across our southern border,

Border-related media hyperventilation (or not)

First, the events the media is hyperventilating over

U.S. closes Mexican border crossing, repels some migrants with tear gas

Reuters slanted the reporting of an illegal alien attack on Border agents so that the aggressors seemed to become the victims.

U.S. authorities shut the country’s busiest border crossing and fired tear gas into Mexico on Sunday to repel Central American migrants approaching the border after U.S. President Donald Trump vowed the asylum-seekers would not easily enter the country.

The Mexican government said it had retaken control of the border crossing after nearly 500 migrants tried to cross the U.S. border “in a violent manner,” and vowed to immediately deport Central Americans who attempt to enter the United States illegally.

(Read more at Reuters)

As someone who has seen the commerce that crosses the border both ways continuously, I don’t welcome the shutdown of the border. However, in a nation of laws (that is, in a nation that doesn’t let one class break the law while holding other classes accountable) we need to stick to the law.

The problem is that, from Johnson to George W. Bush, the topic of illegal immigration took a back seat in most political action. Obama (rather than keeping with the law he claimed 22 times not to be able to change), he used memos to establish his DAPA and DACA programs. Now that a Texas lawsuit has paved the way to the end of DAPA, hopefully, a similar fate will meet the other example of presidential fiat. Still, when the dust (or tear gas) settles, will Congress do something? Will they build a wall (other than the walls that surround their gated communities)?

The border rushing and tear gas happened in the Obama administration — just not the media hype

Tear gas used once a month at border under Obama

The Washington Times explores in a 26 November 2018 article how the border patrol regularly used tear gas.

The same tear-gas agent that the Trump administration is taking heat for deploying against a border mob this weekend is actually used fairly frequently — including more than once a month during the later years of President Barack Obama’s administration, according to Homeland Security data.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has used 2-chlorobenzylidene malononitrile, or CS, since 2010, and deployed it 26 times in fiscal 2012 and 27 times in 2013. The use dropped after that, but was still deployed three times in 2016, Mr. Obama’s final full year in office.

Use of CS rose again in fiscal 2017, which was split between Mr. Obama and Mr. Trump, and reached 29 deployments in fiscal 2018, which ended two months ago, according to CBP data seen by The Washington Times.

Border authorities also use another agent, pepper spray, frequently — including a decade-high record of 151 instances in 2013, also under Mr. Obama. Pepper spray, officially known as Pava Capsaicin, was used 43 times in fiscal year 2018, according to the CBP numbers.

The data poses a challenge to the current anger over the Border Patrol’s use of tear gas Sunday to prevent a mob from busting through sections of old border fence in California.

(Read more at The Washington Times)

In addition to the fact that the Obama administration either directed or allowed its border agents to use tear gas as a means of crowd control, there are certain alternative media outlets that have suggested that the tear gas scenes have been staged (refer to the video in the tweet below).

If these “tear gas” scenes are nothing but the fabrications of liberal activists, I hope that the alternative media has strong connections with the people.

2013: Border Patrol: crowd confronts agents

A 25 November 2013 San Diego Union Tribune article describes a confrontation between border agents and illegal aliens during the Obama administration.

A group of about 100 people trying to illegally cross the border Sunday near the San Ysidro port of entry threw rocks and bottles at U.S. Border Patrol agents, who responded by using pepper spray and other means to force the crowd back into Mexico, federal officials said.

The incident has raised concerns among advocates on both sides of the immigration debate, as well as Border Patrol representatives.

Immigrant-rights groups in San Diego said they didn’t know beforehand about the plan to rush the border, and they worry that desperation is driving homeless deportees to make a bold bid to rejoin their families in the United States.

Border-security groups see this situation as evidence that the border remains unsecured, something they said should be fixed before Congress considers proposals to grant legal status to unauthorized immigrants.

And Border Patrol representatives worry that Sunday’s confrontation could be a political protest, which they said agents want to avoid — especially when it involves the potential for loss of life.

The incident occurred about a quarter-mile west of the San Ysidro border crossing in the Tijuana River channel. No one was seriously injured, no shots were fired and no arrests were made, said Mary Beth Caston, a Border Patrol spokeswoman.
The group first approached a lone agent stationed about 1/8 of a mile north of the border. They ignored his commands to stop, so he fired pepper balls to try to stop them and protect himself, Caston said.

As the crowd kept advancing and throwing rocks and bottles, she said, more agents came to the scene and used other “intermediate use-of-force devices” to push back the group. The agents also contacted Mexican law enforcement.

Obama used tear gas at the border, too

A 27 November 2018 National Review article brings up some good points regarding crowd control over the last decade or so.

Making the click-through worthwhile: the Obama administration’s history of using tear gas on the border; the ugly decade for General Motors takes another unexpected turn; the question of whether American voters punish politicians who solve problems instead of rewarding them; and another case of progressive activists focusing on the convenient targets instead of the responsible ones.

From the coverage of the Customs and Border Patrol using tear gas, one could easily be led to believe that this was an unprecedented escalation in tactics from the Trump administration.

Nope

A recent Washington Post article about the use of tear gas by the Border Patrol talks a lot about the Chemical Weapons Convention, the use of poison gas in World War I, and Saddam Hussein’s use of chemical weapons — as if any of that is comparable to the use of tear gas. The Chemical Weapons Convention explicitly says, “Riot control agents may not be used as a method of warfare but may be used for certain law enforcement purposes including riot control.”

As Mr. Geraghty points out in this National Review piece, this is all about seeing that the crowds of “migrants” do not get stopped by anything as inconsequential as a border.

For information on the group supporting the invasion, I suggest reading The people behind the Mexican “caravan” by Bunkerville.

2018: Mexican cartels viscously attack the weak

Audio: Mexican Cartel Gunmen Execute Passengers After Car Chase

When Nancy Pelosi asks what we could fear about illegal immigrants, we might want to refer her to a 21 November 2018 Breitbart article covering the cartel’s murder of the passengers of a truck they had chased. Except for the fact that the cartels play a large part in bringing illegals to America — something that won’t change no matter how lax the Democrats make our laws — this shouldn’t matter to Americans. However, since not enforcing our border (the way the Democrats want) invites them in, they and the following story should be on our minds.

Therefore, consider this story as it was related by Breitbart

A group of cartel gunmen in the Mexican border state of Sonora opened fire on a truck they were pursuing, causing a crash. The attackers rushed to the scene to finish off the passengers on Sunday.

A group of gunmen opened fire during a high-speed chase of another vehicle in Cajeme, causing the truck to lose control and flip over, according to local reports. The gunmen then approached the vehicle and opened fire on the defenseless occupants–killing two and wounding two others, according to eyewitnesses. An audio recording of a call to authorities was on Facebook.

Most would think that the media would inform us of an impending danger on our Southern border. However, it does not fit their narrative of compassion for certain poorly-defined groups (which I could fall into due to my olive-colored skin).

Still, since we live in a world where the media sacrifices safety to their god of social justice and political correctness, we can only take note and hope for an eventual reaction in the populace.

Illegal immigrant killed 3 after ‘sactuary’ release from custody

A 11 November 2018 Fox News article details a murder of three that did not have to happen except for the Democrat concept of “sanctuary” cities.

An illegal immigrant accused of a triple murder in Missouri was previously jailed and released in New Jersey on domestic violence charges, authorities said, putting the spotlight on the conflict between local and immigration authorities nationwide.

Luis Rodrigo Perez, 23, a native of Mexico, is charged with fatally shooting two men and wounding two others on Nov. 1 and fatally shooting a woman the next day.

He was being held on domestic violence charges at the Middlesex County Jail in New Jersey in December 2017 and was released in February, NJ.com reported.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said they placed a detainer on Perez while he was in custody, but the request was not honored nor was the agency notified when he was let go, said Corey Price, acting executive director of ICE.

As mentioned in previous posts, I have noted that Christians have a duty to protect the weak (Psalm 82:3; Proverbs 31:8-9; Isaiah 1:17; and other verses — such as those listed at this post’s end) and encourage people to obey the law (Romans 13:1-5; Titus 3:1; 1 Peter 2:13-17; and many other verses).

To further these goals, we must support lawmakers (and laws) that first protect our poor and secondly reward the helping of the poor (wherever they find themselves). Finally, as a nation of laws, we must encourage obedience to the law (until that law can be fully demonstrated to contradict God’s law).

Illegal immigrant kills teen bicyclist in hit-and-run

An illegal immigrant was charged on Thursday after killing a high school teen in a hit-and-run in Michigan.

Miguel A. Ibarra Cerda, a 21-year-old Mexican national who was working at a Burrito King in the area, pleaded not guilty to reckless driving causing death and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Cerda, driving a Honda Odyssey minivan, struck 14-year-old Justin Lee as the teen was riding his bicycle. Credo was reportedly driving in excess of speed limits and was on the wrong side of the road when he hit Lee. Witnesses say he sped off immediately after the accident.

Police tracked down and arrested Cerda in Lansing, Michigan, and they believe he was trying to get back to Mexico.

For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.  Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
(Romans 13:1-5 NASB)

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, (Titus 3:1 NASB)

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king. (1 Peter 2:13-17 NASB)
