Twelve stories not being told about the coronavirus problem

The origin and nature comes into greater focus

  1. Leaked Western intelligence dossier reveals how China deceived the world about coronavirus

Fox News provides a timeline showing us how China lied about coronavirus.

CoronavirusSpiesA research dossier compiled by the so-called “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance states that China intentionally hid or destroyed evidence of the coronavirus outbreak, leading to the loss of tens of thousands of lives around the world

The 15-page document from the intelligence agencies of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, was obtained by Australia’s Saturday Telegraph newspaper and states that China’s secrecy amounted to an “assault on international transparency.”

The dossier touches on themes that have been discussed in media reports about the outbreak of the virus, including an initial denial by China that the virus could be transmitted between humans, the silencing or “disappearing” of doctors who tried to speak up, the destruction of evidence in laboratories and refusal to provide live samples to international scientists working on a vaccine.

Specifically, the file notes that China began censoring news of the virus on search engines and social media beginning Dec. 31, deleting terms including “SARS variation,” “Wuhan Seafood market” and “Wuhan Unknown Pneumonia.”

Three days later, on Jan. 3, China’s National Health Commission ordered virus samples to be either moved to designated testing facilities or destroyed, while simultaneously issuing a “no-publication order” related to the disease.

The Saturday Telegraph report includes a timeline of Chinese obfuscation. On Jan. 5, for example, Wuhan’s Municipal Health Commission stopped releasing daily updates on the number of new cases and would not resume them for 13 days. On Jan. 10, Wang Guanga, a respiratory specialist at Peking University First Hospital who had been investigating the outbreak, said it was “under control” and largely a “mild condition.” (Wang himself would disclose 12 days later that he had been infected with the virus.)

Two days later, on Jan. 12, a Shanghai professor’s lab was closed down after it shared data on the virus’ genetic sequence with the outside world. On Jan. 24, Chinese officials stopped the Wuhan Institute of Virology from sharing virus samples with a lab at the University of Texas.

Perhaps most damningly, the dossier states that Chinese authorities denied that the virus could be spread between humans until Jan. 20, “despite evidence of human-human transmission from early December.”

The file is similarly unsparing about the World Health Organization (WHO), stating that it toed the Chinese line about human-to-human transmission despite the fact that “officials in Taiwan raised concerns as early as December 31, as did experts in Hong Kong on January 4.”

As of Friday night, the WHO’s official Twitter account still featured a tweet from Jan. 14 that stated: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.”

The dossier goes on to state that throughout February, “Beijing [pressed] the US [sic], Italy, India, Australia, Southeast Asian neighbours [sic] and others not to protect themselves via travel restrictions, even as [China] impose[d] severe restrictions at home.”

At the same time, the file states: “Millions of people [left] Wuhan after the outbreak and before Beijing lock[ed] down the city on January 23.”

Remember the Chinese spy who worked as a driver, gofer, liason to the Asian community in Los Angeles, and trusted confidant for Senator Feinstein?

Unless you have surrenderered to the Democrat news, you remember the case of the spy who drove and did odd jobs for Senator Diane Feinstein. Therefore, this business of spying by the Chinese is nothing new.

  1. U.S. investigators eye Chinese lab as origin of coronavirus, Director of National Intelligence confirms

The Washington Times confirms reports that a Chinese lab created the Wuhan coronavirus, a fact that has now been confirmed by the director of America’s intelligence community.

1200px-Seal_of_the_Office_of_the_Director_of_National_Intelligence.svgU.S. intelligence agencies investigating the coronavirus behind the deadly global pandemic now believe it either mutated from animals to humans or escaped from a Chinese government laboratory in Wuhan, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said Thursday.

The statement marks the first time that ODNI, which oversees the nation’s intelligence agencies, acknowledged that secret intelligence analysis is underway to determine how the virus outbreak began. It notes that various agencies have been providing support to policymakers on the COVID-19 virus, “which originated in China.”

President Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have all confirmed in recent days that spy agencies are probing the mounting questions surrounding the origins of the coronavirus, which has infected 3.2 million worldwide and killed at least 230,000 people.

China’s government initially said the virus spread from people infected from wild animal meat at a food market in Wuhan, but those claims shifted in the past three months.

“The [intelligence community] will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” the ODNI said.

U.S. intelligence analysts agree with a “wide scientific consensus” that the virus does not appear to have been man-made or genetically modified by Wuhan researchers who have carried out extensive research on bat coronaviruses like the one behind the pandemic.

The origin of the virus is important for scientific researchers seeking to understand the nature of the disease, how to treat it and how to respond to any future outbreaks.

Officials in other countries have raised questions about China’s handling of the outbreak, and Australia’s government has called for an international investigation into the origin of the virus.

Spokesmen for Beijing have said a scientific study is needed to determine the origin of the virus but have not indicated whether China is conducting such a probe.

Chinese authorities launched a campaign of disinformation asserting that the virus originated outside of China and that the U.S. Army may have brought the virus to China. The Trump administration sharply denies those charges.

Whether it came from a lab or a market, China covered the beginning of an outbreak and let people travel across the globe

As for myself, I don’t care whether China created this virus and let it go or stumbled upon it and ignored it. However, when they took the lying step of saying the coronavirus could not be transmitted between humans and further lied about how many people had caught it, then they committed an infraction for which they needed to face consequences.

  1. U.S. officials push for expelling suspected Chinese spies at media outlets

Even the New York Times acknowledges that U.S. officials have pushed to have suspected Chinese spies expelled from media.

the-new-york-times-logoAs China moves forward with expelling almost all American journalists from three major American newspapers, Trump administration officials have intensified discussions over whether to evict employees of Chinese media outlets who they say mainly act as spies.

The action is under consideration because some U.S. officials want to retaliate against China in a new conflict that has revolved around news organizations and is being fueled by hostility over the coronavirus pandemic.

Since the virus began spreading across the United States, Washington and Beijing have waged a global information war over the outbreak. President Trump and his aides are trying to pin responsibility on China, where Communist Party officials initially covered up the dangers of the virus as it was first discovered. Mr. Trump, though, has been criticized for vast failures in the American response.

Some American intelligence officials have pushed for years to expel employees of Chinese media organizations who they say mainly file intelligence reports. The officials now see an opening to make a strong case after Beijing abruptly announced this month that it would expel almost all American citizens who report from mainland China for The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.

China also demanded those organizations, as well as Voice of America and Time magazine, turn over information on employees, budgets, assets and other operational details.

American officials view the state-run outlets in China as a potent threat in the , both because the outlets disseminate propaganda around the world and because of their ability to provide cover for intelligence operatives.

(Try to pick more bits of truth from the New York Times, if you will)

Considering that the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post were kicked out of China, this should be accepted

Had the Obama administration taken steps to defend the media (which, considering what Obama did to James Rosen, AP reporter phone records, and Sharyl Attkisson, that would be well out of character for that crooked administration), they would have rained praises on the administration and exposed the Chinese spying. However, in this age of Trump Derangement Syndrome, the press sides with the communist spies.

  1. China ups its spy game on US soil as it bids to control coronavirus narrative

Fox News points out how China has stepped up its spying and propaganda on US soil.

ChineseSpyFor decades, China has waged an espionage war with the United States, exploiting America’s comparatively open society and free-market economy to steal critical information, trade secrets and technology tools.

But as the coronavirus, officially termed COVID-19, continues to assault the globe – Beijing is upping its spy game on U.S. soil with a focus on manipulating the narrative, officials and experts say.

The primary focus now, according to several current and former intelligence officials interviewed by Fox News, is attempting to control the disease narrative inside the U.S. and cast the blame game anywhere but Beijing.

One U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, underscored that the Chinese focus inside the U.S. remains centered on technology theft, military readiness and minimizing the blowback.

“Most assuredly, the American people will demand some kind of financial response, if not outright reparations in the many billions,” the source explained. “And the Chinese cannot afford that, but they know Trump will cut into it, too.”

A retired Pentagon officer underscored that its media operations are in “full swing,” a slight shift from its typical focus on IP and technology theft.

“It is about saving face for them,” said the source. “It’s about leaking out false information, even to our [the U.S. intelligence] apparatus.”

Late last month, Trump administration officials ignited a quest to root out suspected spies from prominent U.S. media outlets, as well as Chinese outlets suspected of filing predominantly false media reports to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“There is hacking into computer systems, very active human (HUMINT) recruiting of U.S. citizens out of their embassies, consulates, and spies operating under diplomatic cover or non-official cover. They are extremely active against U.S. defense contractors and in and around technology industry hubs,” noted retired Special Forces Col. James Williamson. “If not the parts themselves, at least critical components of parts, have been used in sensitive U.S. defense technology.”

  1. A war of words that has nothing to do with Trump has centered on coronavirus

Fox News reports that China and Australia have been exchanging words and the US may get dragged into it as things escalate.

The animosity brewing between Australia and China over coronavirus reached a fever pitch this week.

But tensions between the trading partners have been simmering for more than a year over alleged plots to plant spies in the government as well as control over strategic islands in the South Pacific that could have consequences for the United States.

The latest spat started after Australia called for an independent inquiry into the origin of the novel coronavirus.

peter-dutton“I think it’s incumbent upon China to answer those questions and provide the information so people can have clarity about exactly what happened because we don’t want it to be repeated,” Australia’s home affairs minister Peter Dutton said on April 17.

China responded by threatening economic retaliation and accused Australia of doing America’s dirty work.

“Obviously (Dutton) must have also received some instructions from Washington requiring him to cooperate with the U.S. in its propaganda war against China … Some Australian politicians parroted what those U.S. forces have said and followed them to launch political attacks on China,” a Chinese embassy official said. “Their move reveals the former’s ignorance and bigotry as well as lack of independence, which is sad.”

China has been working hard to shed its image that it silenced doctors and sat on vital virus data when COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, the capital city of central China’s Hubei province in late 2019. Since then, more than 3.2 million people have been infected by the contagion and nearly 230,000 have died worldwide.

Though Australia’s push for answers will likely receive support from President Trump, who has raked China over coals for downplaying the severity of the virus, allies France and Britain have made clear that now isn’t the time to play the blame game.

That hasn’t stopped Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison from pressing on.

“Australia will continue to, of course, pursue what is a very reasonable and sensible course of action,” he said. “(Coronavirus) has shut down the global economy. It would seem entirely reasonable and sensible that the world would want to have an independent assessment of how this all occurred so we can learn the lessons and prevent it from happening again.”

That train of thought is not sitting well with China, who seemed to view the international inquiry as a political witch hunt orchestrated by the United States to knock its biggest economic competitor out.

“Washington from now on would say nothing positive about China, but constantly condemn us. It has a few followers like Australia. But these countries can barely influence us,” an April 27 editorial in the Global Times, the mouthpiece of China’s ruling Communist Party, claimed.

Instead of bowing to pressure, China has doubled down, marginalizing Australia’s concerns and threatening the country with a massive boycott.

Petty dictators continue to use coronavirus to subjugate the populace

  1. ‘Freedom is essential’: Protest against coronavirus stay-at-home orders in L.A.

Breitbart tells of the Californian protests against stay-at-home orders in Los Angeles.

GavinNewsomHundreds of protesters gathered at the Los Angeles City Hall on Friday to oppose Gov. Gavin Newsom’s coronavirus stay-at-home orders and to demand the economy be re-opened.

Hundreds more circled the area on a parade route of vehicles, many decorated with American flags and protest signs — “Freedom is essential” — honking their horns in solidarity with the crowd on the City Hall steps.

CaliProtestThe protest was organized by a group called “We Have Rights,” with the support of other groups, such as the Libertarian Party of Los Angeles County. Half a dozen rallies were held Friday across Southern California.

A woman who identified herself as a nurse, holding a sign that said, “Stop Newsom Open California,” told Breitbart News that she wanted to see the whole country reopened — “Not just California, all the states.”

She noted that while she had been able to stay at work without becoming sick, many patients in need of care had been unable to come to the hospital for treatments other than for coronavirus. “People are suffering,” she said.

Even in California, they see their freedoms melting away

Although a limited number of Democrats like Mad Maxine certainly celebrate the taking of freedoms, a greater number have started to awaken. While I don’t hold any delusions that there will be enough to unseat Pelosi, Schiff, or Waters from their gerrymandered seats, maybe there will be enough to move the less secure Democrats.

  1. California county plans to defy Gov. Newsom, lift stay-home order

Fox News points to the people who have had a snoot-full of liberal restrictions.

At least one California county says it can no longer afford to abide by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s shelter-in-place response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Officials in Modoc County, in the far northeast corner of the state, say it’s one of five Golden State counties with no confirmed cases of the virus – and the local economy has been hurting.

So beginning Friday, Modoc officials plan to reopen their county of 9,000 people, according to reports. The county’s board of supervisors signed a resolution to that effect Tuesday, reported.

“Modoc County is unique in that our residents and businesses have been able to adapt their framework to fit the physical distancing guidelines put forth by California,” a joint statement from the county sheriff’s office and public health director says, according to “Modoc needs to be open to salvage our local economy and to move forward in this pandemic.

“We know that we need to do this now, we need to do this in the smartest way possible and we need to do this together.”

Modoc officials insist they aren’t being hasty or irresponsible in their plans.

“We cannot stress enough how important it is to do this right. COVID-19 is not over,” their statement said. “This is the beginning of a very long road to recovery. The reopening plan was made in the best interest of residents’ physical, mental, and economic health.”

Modoc officials say the state’s shelter-in-place rules would resume in the county if more than two COVID-19 cases are detected there, and seniors 65 or older, and other at-risk people are being asked to remain at home until May 15, with orders for them to be reevaluated at that time if the county still has no confirmed infections, the report said.

In addition, restaurants and bars in the county must limit customer occupancy to 50 percent of capacity, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“This is a plan, this is not an order,” the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “This is simply what we are proposing that is eligible to open if preventative measures are possible.”

On Wednesday, Newsom spoke out against reopening plans that would precede the end of his orders, saying such actions could risk the success of the state’s virus mitigation efforts.

As stated before, this is a game of numbers

The more the leaders of the left push their left-leaning followers into the middle, the better it will be for all of us. Something tells me that Pelosi has her eyes trained on pushing Trump from office by cooling down the economy, but she has not considered the effects of the petty tyrants she has enabled across the Democrat party. If all of these petty tyrants turn the people against Democrats, she will be in trouble.

  1. Huntington Beach protesters resist California Gov. Newsom’s order closing beaches

Fox News points out how the normally-liberal citizens of Huntington Beach have had enough of Governor Newsom’s order to close the beaches.

One day after California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered Orange County beaches closed to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, hundreds of protesters flooded the city of Huntington Beach to demonstrate against the action.

Holding signs with slogans such as, “Open Cali Now,” “All Jobs are Essential” and “Surfing Not a Crime/Newsom is a Kook,” as they took to the street, the protesters — many without face masks and not practicing social distancing — backed up traffic along the Pacific Coast Highway for at least a mile.

Police on horseback worked to push the crowd out of the road, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

The protest followed a similar one in the city two weekends ago, when demonstrators called for a reopening of the state’s economy after a month under Newsom’s stay-at-home order.

Many participating Friday were with the group Fully Reopen CA Now, according to FOX 11.

“We cannot survive two, three months on this timeline with this amount of businesses shut down and, quite frankly, the data at this point doesn’t support it,” group member Vivienne Reiten told the station.

Why close beaches, unless large numbers of sick people are within six feet of each other?

For all of the times that I was at the beach in Galveston, the only times I got within six feet of another person was when I picked up my infant son or hugged my wife. Of course, the muddy gulf waters around Galveston don’t hold a candle to the beaches elsewhere.

However, if the findings from the DHS study mean anyhing, then if someone coughs, then the virus dies within a second or two in full sunlight at high humidity.

Petty dictators try to restrict religious freedom and other freedoms

  1. Kansas City: Church attendees must register with the government or their church will face closure and jail

Pulpit and Pen reports on a set of Kansas City churches that have come under the thumb of a mayor.

As Kansas City begins reopening, the local government is requiring every church who wishes to provide services to turn in when asked a detailed list of every person who enters their building for services, including name, phone number and address, so city officials can use it for surveillance and tracking purposes. Failure to comply can result in up to 6 month in jail and the Church being completely shut down.

This tyrannical and unjust law is part of the “10/10/10 rule” that Kansas City will begin operating under. According to the FAQ website released by the city:

“The 10/10/10 rule specifies that these businesses must limit the number of individuals on-site (inclusive of employees and customers) to no more than 10 percent of building occupancy or 10 people (whichever is larger), and record the names, contact information, and approximate entry/exit time of all customers who are on premises for more than 10 minutes.

In-person religious gatherings (including weddings and funerals) may resume, subject to the 10/10/10 rule (if held inside) or limited to 50 people outside, provided social distancing precautions are followed and event organizers maintain records of all attendees.”

The order further stipulates that by recording people’s names, businesses and churches will enable the Kansas City Health Department “to more quickly trace, test, and isolate individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 if an employee or customer had the virus at the time they frequented the business.”  If an attendee or member does not want to give this information to city officials, the church is to refuse them entry.

Violations of any provision of this order results in steep penalties. According to the government’s announcement, failing to comply “constitutes an imminent threat, creates an immediate menace to public health, and shall be considered a violation of Section 50-155 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.”

The penalty for violating Section 50-155 is “punished by a fine of not less than $25.00 and not more than $500.00, or by imprisonment in the municipal penal correctional institution for a period of time not less than one day and not more than six months.”

If this is not challenged, this will set a precedent

If people of faith do not stand up against people like this mayor, then this will set a benchmark for the next petty dictator to try to exceed. If we want to keep the rights that our ancestors died defending, we will lose them.

  1. A journalist who contributes to the New York Times and MSNBC warns fascism could come to US if coronavirus shutdowns wreck economy

Fox News provides a little levity by showing that even a journalist at the New York Times and MSNBC can see something coming that has been happening in Democrat-ruled areas for months (refer to my posts on Hidalgo, the US Circuit Court, and other information).

A new Great Depression triggered by coronavirus shutdowns could lead to “fascism” in the United States, a New York Times columnist and MSNBC contributor warned Friday night.

“If the Great Depression is what gave us the rise of fascism and a certain chancellor in Germany, what is the next Great Depression going to do to our politics?” Bret Stephens wondered during an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” alluding to the rise of Adolph Hitler.

Stephens pointed to the economic devastation the U.S. has faced in recent weeks and the “staggering” total of 30 million people filing for unemployment benefits.

He also noted there was “no end of blame that can be assigned” to the Trump administration for its handling of the outbreak, and urged others to “think ahead.”

“We were already moving in a populist and neo-authoritarian direction [when] the economy was relatively good,” Stephens continued. “What happens when you have tens of millions of people who are out of work and desperate — not just economically but politically?

“So people have to start thinking about the balance of risk. … If you balance it in one way, people are going to suffer and people are going to die and that’s almost certainly true. But there are risks to simply holding our breath forever and not hurting ourselves”

Stephens then compared the current “strategy” to combat the coronavirus to the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

“We’re trying to destroy the village in order to save it,” Stephens told Maher, “and I don’t remember that ending very well.”

If this person would quit believing the lies put out by one side, then he would see dictators have been ruling for over a month

If this guy would look around and consider that the stay-at-home orders have occurred primarily in Democrat enclaves. Additionally, he might consider how these stay-at-home orders may be useless (as demonstrated by the similar coronavirus death rates in both Michigan and Sweden when Sweden did not shelter-in-place).

Furthermore, has Stephens considered the brown shirt tactics of deBlasio and Hidalgo as they encourage people to snitch on each other when they see people not social distancing?

  1. New York City Council demands Samaritan’s Purse must leave due to its views on homosexuality

The city council from New York has demanded that Samaritan’s Purse after the group set up a clinic at no cost to the city in Central Park as reported in a 4 May 2020 article published by The Blaze.

Samaritan’s Purse, which had been operating a field hospital in Central Park, has been effectively booted from the city.

2045IT-B15-587The Christian-based humanitarian relief organization, run by Franklin Graham, established a field hospital in Central Park as New York City quickly became the global epicenter for COVID-19. The move was immediately decried by the left due to Samaritan Purse’s biblical views on sexuality despite the organization’s commitment to serve every patient without discrimination.

But on Saturday, Mount Sinai Health System announced it was shutting down the field hospital. Sources told local media the decision was due in part to Samaritan Purse’s Christian beliefs.

“Source tells me a decision was made to sever ties after controversy over the group’s religious views on the LGBTQ community caused concerns in NY,” local NYC reporter Melissa Russo said.

Never mind the mindless, complaining Democrat bureaucrats

Never mind that Samaritan’s Purse treated more than 282 severely-ill patients without regard to anything (according to a post uploaded in mid March). Never mind that there have never been any reports of them turning anyone away due to sexual orientation.

  1. Judge Lina Hidalgo tweets and posts to Facebook encouragements to turn in people and companies who don’t comply

In a Houston Fox affiliate’s video report on the Judge’s request for people to snitch, negative comments were reported (but not shown — as negative comments against local Republicans have been). Still, the tweets look somewhat like this:

Actually, there are many more notable tweets and a world of Facebook posts that you can review. However, I am going to acknowledge the finite nature of this blog and stop here.

Four stories on the hypocrisy of Lina Hidalgo

A history of the Socialist from Harris County, concentrating on the present history

The woman who gave the “stay home, work safe” order to six and 1/3 million residents of the greater Houston area within Harris County has a liberal Democrat (some say socialist) background. Please refer below for further information.

  1. In March 2019, Lina Hidalgo defended her discriminating against whites (in what she calls “equity”)

Houston Fox affiliate KRIV reported on 1 March 2019 that Lina Hidalgo defended her withholding of funds from flood victims based on the color of their skin.

equityA week has passed since FOX 26 News reported emerging fears that Harris County was proposing criteria for funding flood protection projects that would favor some low-income neighborhoods.

Those protests came from a Congressman, a Harris County Commissioner, a local mayor and the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce.

Houston City Council member Dave Martin called the proposed “equity” component for distributing the $2.5 billion local bond dollars “social engineering” which ignores the pledge of “worst first.”

“Greg, I think your reporting was 100 percent accurate,” said Martin. “I think because of your reporting, in identifying what I’m going to call a ‘bait and switch’ approach, a letter was sent out Wednesday, to all the legislators, who got involved in Austin because of the low and moderate income level that was going to be used as criteria to determine how these projects were going to be sequenced.”

“Harris County had 23 public meetings, all across Harris County,” added Martin. “At each and every public meeting, there was never a low-to-moderate income, an equity factor included in those conversations.”

In response to concerns generated by the FOX 26 story, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo did in fact dispatch a letter to Houston-area lawmakers calling our story “misleading” and “inaccurate.”

While FOX 26 reported Hidalgo’s pledge to “execute” all projects approved by voters, the county judge said that the reporting was unclear to viewers and caused fear.

In a face-to-face interview on Thursday, Hidalgo confirmed that the economic vulnerability of underserved neighborhoods should factor into the order that flood projects are undertaken.

“There are some areas that haven’t seen a project in a very long time, that would never see a project were it not for these equity guidelines,” said Hidalgo. “Equity is a factor. Equity is the factor.”

Hidalgo added that many low-to-middle income areas have been shortchanged by federal guidelines which favor projects in neighborhoods with the highest property values.

“Throughout our county, we have to be able to work and come up with an order that doesn’t only look at high property values,” said Hidalgo. “It ultimately hurts all of us. It’s the right thing to do to look at things more broadly and it’s the common sense thing to do.”

Hidalgo would not outline how the potential equity standards under consideration would impact the $900 million local bond dollars still uncommitted to specific projects. She did say that since the FOX 26 story aired, the low-income standard for deciding “equity” has been at least temporarily abandoned in favor of a different metric.

“How long has it been since a project was last done? That actually better gets at vulnerable neighborhoods than asking income level,” said Hidalgo.

And to critics, Judge Lina Hidalgo offered this message.

“It is not right, nor is it fair, nor is it accurate to create a class warfare around this,” said Hidalgo.

There is at least one more public hearing on the issue.

“Two wrongs do not make a right” still applies

It has been over 60 years since affirmative action began. We’ve had that much time to work on reversing attitudes regarding discrimination and — for the most part — America has learned to stop discriminating.

However, it seems that a portion of the population has determined that the history books don’t present preventative measures that tell us how not to do things. Rather, that part of the population has determined to turn the failures of the past around to see if they will fail again.

Therefore, let me give Lina a message she wouldn’t hear even if she were in a mood to listen to conservative, Christian people: Stop now.

  1. Lina Hidalgo releases 1000 inmates in violation of governor’s order

Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported on what was then a pending release of 1,000 inmates by County Judge Lina Hidalgo in violation of Governor Greg Abbott’s order.

Calling the Harris County Jail, ‘a ticking time-bomb,’ Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced Tuesday she plans to sign an order that could release 1000 or more inmates from the Harris County Jail.

Hidalgo1000In a Tuesday afternoon news conference Hidalgo said they are non-violent inmates awaiting trial on felony charges, without prior convictions on violent crimes.

“Public health experts have made clear it is a dangerous situation,” Hidalgo said casting the decision as a public health one, “the cramped conditions there make it impossible to enforce social distancing.”

Trying to stay ahead of critics, Hidalgo said there is ‘no room for politics’ in this matter.

While the order is not yet signed, the judge and county officials are on a tight time frame saying they aim to complete the releases within 96 hours (4 days).

There is not yet a list of offenders who would be considered for release as the order is still not finalized. The judge and her attorneys say anyone under domestic violence protective orders, felony DWI suspects and accused home and business burglars would not be eligible for release.

The proposed order steers clear of an executive order signed by Governor Greg Abbott. That banned the release of any violent criminals. The proposed Harris County plan doesn’t include them.

Once a list of inmates is created, the District Attorney, District Court Judges, and pre-trial services will have eight hours to review the list and raise objections. The county says once that is complete, it aims to release up to 250 inmates per day.

Judge Hidalgo did say she had consulted elected leaders and police chiefs. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo was apparently not one of them.

Acevedo told ABC13 in a statement, “As the largest user of the Harris County Jail, I have not discussed the plan with the judge, nor have I been given any specifics.” Noting an 18.9% increase in burglaries in the last two weeks, Acevedo tweeted, ” hope people who burglarize vehicles, residences and buildings aren’t released in large numbers.”

Adding to the complexity of a plan, a group of lawyers representing thousands of inmates at the jail has filed court documents asking a federal judge to release even more inmates to avoid a ‘public health catastrophe.’

(Read more at KTRK)

This really isn’t so much a release based on COVID-19. This is a continuation of Lina’s bail reforms.

As mentioned during previous posts, Harris County (Democrat) judges have been releasing inmates (even murder suspects) on a regular basis. Therefore, I think this must be more of a case of bail reform than of releasing inmates due to coronavirus fears.

  1. Up to 180 days in jail for people who violate Hidalgo’s “Stay home, work safe” order

The Katy News closes an account of Judge Lina Hidalgo’s order to extend her “Stay home, work safe” order to the end of April 2020 by noting the following:

Violations of the Stay Home-Work Safe order are subject to fines and up to 180 days in jail. Please seek legal counsel if you are unsure if a certain business, service, or function is considered essential.

With the release of 1,000 inmates, why jail people for violating her order?

If the county must release inmates to avoid infecting criminals, then why not prelude any ideas that the jail time for “Stay Home-Work Safe” orders will be enforced? Why not just say that only fines will be levied? Then again, the reason that the Democrat judges released murderers was that the judges surmised that the murderers could not afford bail. If Ms. Hidalgo imposes large fines on people who feel they must travel from their houses, then Ms. Hidalgo is being inconsistent.

Hopefully, Ms. Hidalgo will not start to follow the example of Bill DeBlasio (where he threatened churches or synagogues that defied his shutdown order with permanent shutdown). If Ms. Hidalgo starts to crack down on Christian meetings that exceed 10 people (like her political rally that pictured below that exceeded 15-20), then we will know this “stay home, work safe” was nothing but a political exercise.

  1. Lina Hidalgo gathers masses to Montrose to encourage Democrats to complete census

The Houston Chronicle reported on an 1 April 2020 rally (yes, an April Fool’s rally) by Lina Hidalgo where she gathered hundreds in Montrose and encouraged them to fill out their census.

Texas’ biggest counties and cities, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, are shouldering that burden on their own, officials said during a launch event at the Children’s Museum Monday.

Lina Hidalgo (hypocrite and Democrat) not enforcing social distancing

“We are doing everything we can to make sure that folks participate, said Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo. She called Census 2020 a crucial moment “to live up to that right that we have…to be counted.”

More lack of social distancing among the crowd in this predominantly Democrat area

Amid heightened tensions for immigrants under the Trump administration, Hidalgo made an impassioned plea, in the Spanish version of her remarks, to prospective participants to set aside any fears about filling out the form.

“The Census is very safe, I want to make that very clear, that under penalty of prison or fine, nobody can share your personal information from the Census — not ICE, the FBI, no organization or federal agency can access your personal information about the Census,” she said in Spanish.

These Democrats send us home from jobs for weeks on end, empty our jails, but do not practice social distancing or limit their crowds to less than 10.

What happened to the crisis?

Something tells me that the crisis might only be in the media, unless you are a Democrat who needs to rally the troops.
