Putting a little method to the Democrat madness

Democrat Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo extends “Stay Home, Work Safe” orders until 10 June 2020

As reported by the Houston ABC affiliate KTRK, Democrat Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo issued a ruling by judicial fiat:

idiotinamaskHarris County Judge Lina Hidalgo is expected to sign an order that will extend the county’s ‘Stay Home, Work Safe’ order until June 10.

Her office said the order will align with Gov. Greg Abbott’s current order. On Monday, Abbott announced additional reopenings that included bars and professional sports.

The decision has sparked an online debate, with some saying Hidalgo is trying to keep people safe, while others say the time has come to get on with our lives.

Earlier this month, Hidalgo issued a stay-at-home order just two days after the statewide stay-at-home order expired Thursday April 30. That has since expired on Wednesday.

In a tweet posted by Hidalgo, she wrote, “This is no time to tempt fate. As folks settle into a new normal please remember we don’t have a cure, and people are still getting sick. Keep yourself and your family safe by social distancing as best as you can and avoiding unnecessary contacts.”

This probably has more to do with convincing the population to vote by mail

When we consider the ways Democrat forces have worked to raise fear of  COVID-19, we could count:

From this pattern of trying to scare the American people and provide no hope, what will Democrats do?

We can see an overall pattern of trying to scare the population. But to what end? One possible end would be to push the use of mail-in ballots.

That’s right. Democrats think that you can stand in line at the grocery store and stand in line at the post office, but you cannot stand in line to vote.

Mail-in ballots have at least these shortcomings:

Additionally, Harris County Democrats have made certain that the fox is guarding the hen house

As reported in the Houston Chronicle explains that the bumbling Harris County Clerk Diane Trautman got Christopher Hollins (vice chairman for the Texas Democrat party) appointed as the interim Harris County Clerk.

A Houston lawyer and Texas Democratic Party official will serve as interim Harris County Clerk, taking the reins two months before voters cast ballots in primary runoffs in July.

Christopher Hollins
Christopher Hollins

Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted 3-2 along party lines to appoint Christopher Hollins, vice chairman for the state Democratic party. He will serve until a new clerk can be elected in November.

Incumbent Diane Trautman, who was elected in 2018, announced May 9 she would step down because of health issues. Trautman’s last day is May 31; Hollins will start the following day.

County Judge Lina Hidalgo and Precinct 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis said Hollins’ pledge to serve only on an interim basis factored in their decision.

“I’m committing to him with the understanding that he will bring his skill set to running the best election we can, for the sake of our county and democratic rights of all the residents, and not focusing on advancing personal political ambitions,” Hidalgo said.

Hollins, 33, was selected after 10 p.m., more than 12 hours after Commissioners Court convened, and did not address the body. He said in a statement Wednesday morning he was grateful for the opportunity.

Let’s see how appointing the chairman of the committee to defeat Lt. Governor Dan Patrick as election clerk over Dan Patrick’s district goes

Considering that Christopher Hollins most recently lead the committee to defeat Republican Dan Patrick and, now, he oversees the election in that politician’s district — it seems like there is a possibility for dirty tricks.

If you were wondering how one Mosque deals with the coronavirus pandemic

Syracuse mosque limits groups to 10 and follows other precautions

However, unlike Christian churches that followed precautions, the mosque gets no harassment from local government

With a hat tip to the Nwo Report, the Syracuse Post-Standard (aka Syracuse.com) reports that a local mosque conducts services by social distancing. However, the pictures taken tell a different story.

Irfan Elahi is an asbestos abatement expert who worships at the Mosque of Jesus, Son of Mary on the North Side.

He used his skills to create a prayer room covered in plastic with special ventilation that allows daily prayers to continue in the 116-year-old former church, as the holy month of Ramadan nears.

The room is lined with plastic, and two machines siphon air out of the room to create negative pressure. Air in the room is recycled every four minutes . Elahi used the materials and expertise from his day job to create what he called a “clean room.”

About 10 worshippers in masks are allowed in at a time, though rarely do that many show up. They stand far apart from each other as they follow a prayer leader standing on a plastic covered prayer rug.

(Read more at Syracuse Post-Standard)

The problem with all of these claims of social distancing come through the photos

NotSocialDistancing1First, there is the photo of one Muslim man helping another with his mask. No matter the mask and gloves, that is not social distancing.

NotSocialDistancing2Next, they show the men kneeling on the floor for prayer. Unless each of these men is well over 7 feet tall and they have proportional bodies, then these men are not 6 feet apart.

NotSocialDistancing3Finally, in another image, the photographer captured a man adjusting his mask while another man walked by. Unless the focal length on this shot was extremely long and the man in the foreground is extremely short while the man in the back is extremely tall, then these men are not socially distancing.

However, who am I kidding? With Christian churches, it has been about persecution, not coronavirus.

When a Mississippi church had a drive-in church service in their parking lot where church members never got out of their vehicles, they were ticketed (but obviously not for violating social distancing).

When California disallowed singing during online services, that had nothing to do with social distancing.

When U.S. District Court of Kansas Judge John Broomes issued 24 protocols for two churches to follow in order to have in-person meetings of 10 or less, it is hard to say exactly what was on the judge’s mind. However, I can tell you one thing that never occurred to the judge: how the church members could follow the first tenet of Christianity — the Great Commission. You see, the judge disallowed any visitor from attending either church.

For those wondering what the Great Commission is, it follows:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19‭-‬20 NASB)

Not to be boorish, but I think this statement bears repeating

When the State tells you it’s safe to go to Home Depot to buy a sponge, but dangerous to go and buy a flower — it’s not about your health.

When the State shuts down millions of private businesses, but doesn’t lay off a single government employee — it’s not about your health.

When the State bans dentists because it’s unsafe, but deems abortion visits to be safe — it’s not about your health.

When the State prevents you from buying cucumber seeds because it’s dangerous, but allows in-person lottery ticket sales — it’s not about your health.

When the State tells you it’s dangerous to go golf alone, fish alone, or be in a motor boat alone, but the Governor can get his stage make up done and hair done for 5 TV appearances a week — it’s not about your health.

When the state puts you IN a jail cell for walking in a park with your child because it’s too dangerous, but lets criminals OUT of jail cells for their health — it’s not about YOUR health!

When the state tells you it’s too dangerous to get treated by a doctor of chiropractic or physical therapy treatments, yet deems a liquor store essential — it’s not about your health!

When the State lets you go to the grocery store or hardware store, but is demanding mail-in voting — ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.

WAKE UP PEOPLE — If you think this is all about your health you’re mistaken! Please open your eyes! Stop being lead like blind sheep.

Speak to the Texas Republican Party

The Texas Republican Propositions, my suggestions, and a Biblical reasoning

The propositions put forward by Texas Republicans seek to get the pulse of the grass roots.

Therefore, I encourage you to inform yourself and vote on these propositions.

The following table includes the text of the proposition items, my suggestion for a vote, a reason for my suggestion, and a Bible verse backing that suggestion.

Prop Text: Yes / No ? Why: Verse & Explaination
Prop 1:
Texas should not restrict or prohibit prayer in public schools. Yes. It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after he had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” (Luke 11:1 NASB)

The best way to teach about prayer will be to teach it at home. However, to allow the use of prayer in school can only benefit.

Prop 2:
Texas should reject restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. Yes. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:4 NASB)

We must have the opportunity to protect ourselves and others.

Prop 3:
Texas should ban the practice of taxpayer-funded lobbying, which allows your tax dollars to be spent on lobbyists who work against the taxpayer. Yes. Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate; (Proverbs 22:2 NASB)

This prevents the powerful state from using the money of the people against the people.

Prop 4:
Texas should support the construction of a physical barrier and use existing defense-grade surveillance equipment along the entire southern border of Texas. Yes. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people whom He has choses for His own inheritance. (Psalm 33:12 NASB)

Because God recognizes the separations of nations and honors the nations that honor Him, people need to be able to defend their own borders.

Prop 5:
Texas parents or legal guardians of public school children under the age of 18 should be the sole decision makers for all their children’s healthcare decisions including, but not limited to, psychological assessment and treatment, contraception, and sex education. Yes. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 NASB)

It is up to the parents (especially the father) to protect the children.

Prop 6:
Texas should ban chemical castration, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and genital mutilation surgery on all minor children for transition purposes, given that Texas children as young as three (3) are being transitioned from their biological sex to the opposite sex. No. For each will bear his own load. (Galatians 6:5 NASB)

This proposition contradicts (in essence) the previous. It removes a “no” that the parent must voice and introduces the possibility that the state will make other decisions for the child without consulting the parents.

Prop 7:
Texans should protect and preserve all historical monuments, artifacts, and buildings, such as the Alamo Cenotaph and our beloved Alamo, and should oppose any reimagining of the Alamo site. Yes. So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever. (Joshua 4:7b NASB)

The importance of having a physical reminder of the past comes through here.

Prop 8:
Texas election officials should heed the directives of the Office of the Governor to purge illegal voters from the voter rolls and verify that each new registered voter is a U.S. Citizen. Yes. Stand firm, therefore, having girded your loins with truth. (Ephesians 6:14a NASB)

We must encourage truth among those who we entrust with governmental power.

Prop 9:
Bail in Texas should be based only on a person’s danger to society and risk of flight, not that person’s ability to pay. Yes. When the righteous increase, the people rejoice. But when a wicked man rules, people groan. (Proverbs 29:2 NASB)

The release of murderers by social justice judges has resulted in the murder of innocents.

Prop 10:
Texas should limit our state legislators’ terms to 12 years. Yes. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 NASB)

Because we are imperfect people, limiting the amount of power any one person has over us only makes sense.

Two articles and a petition on Trump wins

Trump protects prayer

Lifezette reports in a 16 January 2020 article on President Trump’s protections for prayer in public schools.

TrumpPrayerPresident Trump announced today that his administration is taking new steps to reinforce the right to pray in public school.

Surrounded by people of various faiths, including Christians, Muslims, and Jews, Trump affirmed an aggressive renewal of guidance given to public schools that is meant to loosen the tight grip around the right to pray for students and school staff.

“This afternoon we are proudly announcing historic steps to protect the First Amendment right to pray in public schools.”

Since the campaign trail, Trump has maintained a large and intimately engaged circle of spiritual advisors who pray with him, inform him of anti-religious influences in America, and have been tasked with creating policy ensuring that the free exercise of religion is not compromised.

“We will not allow faithful Americans to be bullied by the hard Left,” Trump said.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos published the new guidance on the DOE website. The formal guidance is to be disseminated to all public school executives.

Since the letter from President Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association assured them government would not encroach on religious rights, this only takes back territory

That famous letter that atheists like to mischaracterize as an excuse for excluding anyone with religious convictions from the public debate initially came into being as a means of assuring the Danbury Baptist Association of the limits of government. Therefore, this executive order (at least to me) seems to bring the government back into line.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Sign the Petition to Thank the President

In response to the many pro-conservative actions by the President, the American Family Association has created a petition thanking the President. I encourage all to sign it.

If you go to the petition, you will see the following introduction:

With the constant bashing of President Trump by the left-wing media and liberal politicians, it is good to be reminded of the accomplishments his administration has made to advance conservative principles.

I was asked if I wanted to sign a letter thanking the president for his hard work on behalf of the American people and for keeping his promises on so many issues. I said YES!

As president of AFA, I am particularly thankful for what the president has done on issues such as the pro-life cause, appointing good judges, and standing for religious freedom. So, I gladly signed the letter. You can read it here.

Sign our petition to join America’s conservative leaders in thanking President Trump and his administration for their tremendous achievements during his first three years as president.

I also encourage you to pray for President Trump every day. I’ve never seen such hatred for a president like the kind the media and “progressive” elites have for President Trump. It’s otherworldly, really. If I can use a biblical term, it’s spiritual warfare. While he has his flaws (as we all do), I know he loves our country and has surrounded himself with many fine patriotic Christians who only want to advance freedom and honor God with their actions and decisions.

If you read to the end of the letter, you will see a number of signatories

These people are also worthy of your support.

Trump major win, the USMCA

As pointed out through a 10 December 2019 Breitbart article, passing of the USMCA was a major win for the Trump administration and the United States.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday announced that Democrats had struck a deal on the new U.S. trade deal with Mexico and Canada.

Pelosi is a longtime free-trader and supported the original North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, breaking with many Democratic labor supporters who opposed the deal. That 1994 trade pact deeply divided Democrats and was opposed by conservative Republicans such as Patrick J. Buchanan.

Trump had accused Pelosi of being incapable of passing the agreement because she is too wrapped up in impeachment. On Monday, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Siriux XM’s Breitbart News Daily that Pelosi was the sole individual standing in the way of getting the deal signed.

Pelosi on Tuesday said the new deal was a “victory for America’s workers.”

Pelosi’s announcement came less than one hour after Democrats announced their impeachment charged against President Donald Trump, creating the odd juxtaposition of Democrats handing the president a major legislative victory while furthering their attempts to remove him from office.

President Trump celebrated the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, in pair of tweet Tuesday morning.

“It will be the best and most important trade deal ever made by the USA. Good for everybody – Farmers, Manufacturers, Energy, Unions – tremendous support. Importantly, we will finally end our Country’s worst Trade Deal, NAFTA!” the president said.

(Read more at Breitbart)

I would give the victory in this treaty to God first and then President Trump

Although the first five paragraphs of this article focus on Nancy Pelosi and the way she stood as a barrier to getting this measure passed, I would rather focus on the good this improved trade treaty will facilitate. Therefore, I will credit God and then President Trump.

Issues for Christians

Christians hunted, marked for death, meet secretly

OneNewsNow reports in a 6 December 2019 article how Christians suffer in Muslim-dominated lands.

syriachild.jpgFor those living in a Muslim island nation and various parts of West Africa, being a Christian means one is marked for death – and those who translate the Bible will likely never return to their homes again … alive.

Wycliffe Associates, one of the world’s leading Bible translation organizations, says workshops and strategies for Bible translation often spring forth from clandestine meetings between its team members and mother-tongue Bible translators.

Undercover Christians

Such workshops, reports Wycliffe Associates, “are springing out of the seeds sown in these secret meetings” – meetings that may take place on an isolated mountain top, or among church leaders disguised as tourists, or during a walk through a crowded market where translators’ prayers and conversations are drowned out by the noise and bartering.

Persecution for following Christ and translating Scripture into native languages in these volatile regions include being hunted, receiving death threats and working in secret to avoid imminent death.

Wycliffe Associates president and CEO Bruce Smith commends native Bible translators for secretly meeting with his ministry team, as the risk of being caught with foreigners could mean death.

“Despite the persecution and risks they face, Christians are reaching out to us, asking for the tools, technology, and training they need to launch Bible translation projects,” Smith states. “I am humbled and overwhelmed to see the tenacity of Christians in the most extreme anti-Christian environments on earth.

“In spite of the hostility of religious and governmental authorities, in spite of the risk of violence, of arrest, of torture, even death, Christians ardently press on,” he adds.

MAST (Mobilized Assistance Supporting Translation) – a collaborative translation method employed by the international nonprofit organization – equips native Christians to share the written Word where it is strictly forbidden. MAST projects currently under way across the globe number more than 1,200. The ministry also equips mother-tongue translators with technology that complements MAST, including computer tablets, Print-On-Demand equipment, and Bible translation recording kits.

In fact, in a number of areas that crack down on Christianity, believers must abandon their home country if they want to translate the Bible and stay alive.

“In some countries, we’ve helped move national Bible translators out of their own countries because their lives are literally at risk if they attempt to translate the Scriptures in their homeland,” Smith shares. “Some translators are at such risk that they will never be able to go home again. The translated Scriptures will have to be smuggled back across the border.”

Tragic stories of Christians giving up their lives and safety are not uncommon in this part of the world.

According to Wycliffe Associates, a translator in West Africa recently was murdered and his wife was mutilated; and one pastor – a hunted man – was forced to flee his country and now lives under a “virtual death sentence.” Regardless, says the ministry, that pastor remains firmly committed to the work of Bible translation for his language group.

Pray for an Islamic reformation where it moves from a cult of death

Pray for a change in the heart of Islam so that the focus moves from killing the enemies of Islam, from killing those who leave Islam, from visiting some form of “revenge” on those who have been deemed to insult Islam, from executing the deviants within the community, from falling on members of certain other named religious communities, and from otherwise focusing on death.

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (Matthew 5:44‭-‬45 NASB)

Speaking Truth not Tolerated at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

It seems that a pro-LGBTQ agenda has crept into the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as reported by the American Family Association.

SWBTS_Lopez.pngRobert Oscar Lopez is an outspoken witness to the power of God to transform a life.  He was raised by “two moms” and identified as bisexual for years before surrendering his life to Christ.

He has spent his life fighting. First, it was for his own life – for freedom from the clutches of homosexuality. Then it was (and is) against the attacks from the homosexual activist community. Read AFA Journal story “Breaking Free from a Culture of Shame” here.

This man’s resiliency is astounding.

And now he’s fighting one of the most powerful religious organizations in existence – the Southern Baptist Convention.

Prior to being hired in 2016 by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), Lopez was a tenured professor at California State University. In today’s culture, it is no surprise that a former homosexual now speaking from a biblical perspective would be persecuted.

After repeated subjection to senselessly demeaning investigations at the public university, the sense of relief Lopez experienced when “rescued” into a Christian seminary must have been palpable. The pressure to shut up about his testimony and matters of biblical sexual morality was a thing of the past. Or so he thought.

Last week, the morning after Thanksgiving Day, Lopez received an email notifying him that his position at SWBTS had been eliminated. He told AFA this wasn’t really a surprise to him. He had been asked to resign two months earlier by the provost, Randy Stinson.

“I was called into seven secret meetings,” he explained. “They would never put anything in writing. I was called in alone all the time. I didn’t know who was going to be in the meetings. And I had no forewarning about what was going to be brought up. It was very much like mental intimidation. … They told me people were watching me.”

As part of the series of meetings, Lopez was told he was held in low esteem by the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Initially, he was subjected to an onerous process, requiring him to submit requests before writing or speaking on sexual matters. But eventually, Dean Michael Wilkinson made clear that Lopez was to stop talking about all matters of sexuality, including his testimony, homosexuality, and sex abuse.

Lopez had been active in writing and speaking about the dangers of the Equality Act and abuse in the gay community. And he had drafted and submitted a resolution to the SBC supporting counseling to help lead people out of homosexuality.  These were all apparently giant no-nos for the SBC, which according to Lopez has embraced the “Revoice” ideology.  Revoice is a radical movement to promote normalization and acceptance of LGBTQ terms within the church – creating a slippery slope which many believe will lead to full-blown acceptance of homosexuality.

Nothing good comes from capitulation

As we know by the capitulation of Chick-Fil-A to the LGBTQ crowd or by any of any number of reports by Janet Mefferd on “Revoice,” giving in to the demands of the the LGBTQ crowd will only result in a new set of demands to be met. Therefore, the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary must not bend as it seems to be doing.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, (1 Corinthians 6:9 NASB)

Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth , and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, (Ephesians 6:14 NASB)

Hundreds of Pakistani Christians Sold as Brides to China

Breitbart reports in a 7 December 2019 article on the selling of

pakistan-christiansPage after page, the names stack up: 629 girls and women from across Pakistan who were sold as brides to Chinese men and taken to China. The list, obtained by The Associated Press, was compiled by Pakistani investigators determined to break up trafficking networks exploiting the country´s poor and vulnerable.

The list gives the most concrete figure yet for the number of women caught up in the trafficking schemes since 2018.

But since the time it was put together in June, investigators´ aggressive drive against the networks has largely ground to a halt. Officials with knowledge of the investigations say that is because of pressure from government officials fearful of hurting Pakistan´s lucrative ties to Beijing.

The biggest case against traffickers has fallen apart. In October, a court in Faisalabad acquitted 31 Chinese nationals charged in connection with trafficking. Several of the women who had initially been interviewed by police refused to testify because they were either threatened or bribed into silence, according to a court official and a police investigator familiar with the case. The two spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared retribution for speaking out.

At the same time, the government has sought to curtail investigations, putting “immense pressure” on officials from the Federal Investigation Agency pursuing trafficking networks, said Saleem Iqbal, a Christian activist who has helped parents rescue several young girls from China and prevented others from being sent there.

“Some (FIA officials) were even transferred,” Iqbal said in an interview. “When we talk to Pakistani rulers, they don´t pay any attention. ”

(Read more at Breitbart)

Why does this happen?

It happens because the Christian community of Pakistan has been isolated economically. It happens because China has limited its families to having one child per family. It happens because, with a preference for boys in Eastern cultures, generations of female babies have been aborted due to the one-child mandate.

It happens when a cowardly political class cannot find itself within its black heart to do the right thing. It also happens when a complacent media will not speak up for the underdog (especially when that media stands arrayed against a group like Christians).

Finally, it happens for reasons, both holy and evil, that fly out of our control. Nonetheless, we must prefer our brothers and sisters in Christ when moved by the Spirit.

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; (Romans 12:10 NASB)

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6 NASB)

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NASB)

Stories that should encourage Christians

Texas Boy Whose Mother Wanted to Transition Him into a Girl, Now Attending School as a Boy

The Christian Broadcasting Network reported in a 7 November 2019 article that James has started attending school as a boy and no longer wants to be referred to as “Luna.”

savejamesfbimageThe Texas boy caught in the middle of a bitter custody battle that made national headlines when it was revealed his mother wanted to transition him into a girl, is now attending school as a boy.

The “Save James” Facebook page posted photos of seven-year-old James Younger and his brother Jude before they headed off for school. The page also posted a photo of Jeff Younger standing with his two sons.

“Jeff emailed the principal today and James and Jude’s teachers had reported that there was zero stress or disruptions in the classroom today. Just another day in school Prayers answered,” friends of the Younger family wrote on the page.

Earlier, they had written, “Going to school. This is what it looks like when JAMES gets to choose! * Affirm this! * Also, a photo taken yesterday, just before church. James and Jude proud to be men! Save James, save thousands of children!”

As CBN News reported in October, Jeff Younger went to court to stop his ex-wife Dr. Anne Georgulas from transitioning their son James into a girl named “Luna.” Court documents revealed the boy even dressed as a girl and answered to that name when he was with his mother.

When I first heard of this on American Family Radio, all I could do is pray

When I first heard of the case of James Younger, a jury had ruled against his father in his attempt to stop the chemical castration of this 7-year-old boy. So, after praying for the protection of this child, it occurred to me that — as a citizen of a democratic republic — I have a voice in my government through my representatives. Therefore, I got on Facebook and Twitter and contacted my senators and my governor.

Soon thereafter, Governor Abbott ordered an investigation of the James Younger custody case in Dallas. With the state’s eyes on her, Judge Kim Cooks ruled that the parents would share joint conservatorship of the child. So, with the tide turning against the pediatrician “mother” (who did not donate the eggs toward the twin boys) has petitioned for the judge to recuse herself from the case.

So, we need to continue our prayers.

“Thank God” is one of many reactions to the apparent conversion of Kanye West

Kanye West Gospel Album Inspires Group to Give Away 1,000 Bibles to His Fans

A 2 November 2019 Breitbart article details how the American Bible Society came to donate 1,000 Bibles to Kayne West fans.

kanyeserviceSome fans of rap megastar Kanye West are showing an increased interest in the Holy Bible following his conversion to Christianity and his hit gospel-rap album Jesus is King. And now one organization is handing out hundreds free Bibles to those who wish to learn more.

Google searches for “Jesus” and the query, “What do Christians believe?” spiked significantly following the release of West’s album last week, which includes a plethora of biblical references.

Amid renewed interest, the American Bible Society (ABS) plans to use the opportunity to hand out free Bibles to those interested in Christianity. The organization has launched an initiative called “Bibles for Kanye Fans,” which will see them hand out up to 1,000 copies of the Good News Translation for free.

“When we saw an influential cultural figure like Kanye inspiring young people to curiously seek out answers to their faith questions, we saw that as an opportunity to do what we do best as an organization: to provide God’s word and point people to it as a source to their questions about faith,” Dr. John Farquhar Plake, the organizations’s director of ministry intelligence, told Fox News.

“Kanye’s album just points to this cultural curiosity and we’re happy to stand in the gap and say if you’re curious about the Bible, we want to provide one to you,” he continued.

The Grammy-winning rapper recently opened up about a Born Again Christian, defending religious conservative values while critiquing those pushing political correctness and “cancel culture” as the same people who wish to destroy Christianity altogether.

“I’ve been canceled before. That was canceled culture. Who told you that my career would be over? The same people that are telling you that you can’t have a right to say who you will vote for,” Kanye West said. “Those people will be soon to take Jesus out of school. Those people will be soon to remove Jesus, period, from America, which is the Bible Belt. Those people will be so mad. Come on man.”

From what I have heard of Kanye West’s church meetings, they seem to be nothing but uplifting to God

The reports that I have seen, including several YouTube videos, seem to indicate a true conversion by Mr. West.

However, if you are a Christian, I would challenge you to not follow in the steps of Peter in asking about the situation of another believer (John 21:21). Rather, we should follow Christ’s suggestion by looking to our own spiritual condition (John 21:22).

That is, so what if Kanye West formerly had issues? He has reformed his ways. So what if he has a new way of delivering the good news? Every generation has changed that delivery and — as shown by the spike in searches on “What do Christians believe?” — we can thank God for that.

FAITH-FILLED WEEKEND: That Time Tebow’s John 3:16 Verse Went Viral, Then God Did Something Even Wilder

An 8 November 2019 Christian Broadcasting Network commentary on the effects of an action taken on 8 January 2009 by football player Tim Tebow.

timtebowjohn316It may not be news at this point, but if you haven’t heard this story yet, be prepared to be blown away. More than nine million people have now seen a viral video of Tim Tebow recalling a powerful story from his football days that can’t be explained by human understanding.

It goes like this.

Tebow was a HUGE success in his college football years. The year was 2009 and he was weeks away from competing in the highly televised national championship football game.

Tebow said God led him at that point to change his regular Bible verse – the one he painted under his eyes – from Philippians 4:13 to John 3:16 for all the world to see while he played.

He points out John 3:16 contains the essence of the Bible’s salvation message, so he felt God was calling him to share it on this big platform he was being given.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

After the game, Tebow found out his new message had a huge impact. “During that game 94 million people Googled John 3:16,” he recalls learning.

He says it taught him a lesson about how big God really is, and that God really wants to do big things through us because He can use one act of obedience in one moment in time to reach 94 million people with the gospel.

Fast-forward three years – exactly three years in fact – from January 8, 2009, when Tebow first wore John 3:16 – to January 8, 2012. Tebow was now playing for the Denver Broncos in the NFL.

Tebow recalls, “We just happened to be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs… I didn’t think of John 3:16 one time, so I can’t take credit, I had nothing to do with it.”

Then something truly wild happened. You might even call it supernatural.

After Tebow led the Broncos to beat the Steelers in that game, his PR guy came up to him and said, “Timmy did you realize what happened? This is exactly 3 years from the time you put John 3:16 under your eyes… you don’t realize, during the game you threw for 316 yards. Your yards per rush were 3.16. Your yards per completion were 31.6. The time of possession was 31.06. And the ratings for the night were 31.6. And during the game, 90 million people Googled John 3:16, and it’s the number one thing on all social media right now.”

“And I was just standing in the hallway thinking, ‘God I didn’t know that you were doing anything. I thought that was like three years ago. But it’s amazing how big the God is that we serve,” he says.

This is a good example of a servant who was faithful in small things and, thereby, was given authority over great things

In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus relates a story of servants who were entrusted with various sums of money. One was given much and used it to bring great benefit to his master. One was given little and still used it to benefit his master. However, a third, knowing that this master was known for reaping gains where he had not sowed, went and hid the money do that he would not experience loss. Because he did not at least put the asserts in the bank where they could gather some interest, this servant was punished.

Usually, when preachers and Sunday School teachers focus on this parable, they center their message on the third, lazy servant.

However, in the case of Tim Tebow, I think it does us well to focus on the second servant. Like Tebow, the second servant took small resources and turned them into a great return.

Therefore, the next time a little task for God comes to you, consider the great returns that might result.

‘This Is What We Pray For’: Christian Influencers Rejoice Over Kanye’s Radical Transformation

Another Christian Broadcasting Network article provides commentary on the apparent conversion of Kayne West.

Kanye West’s gospel album “Jesus is King” is hitting number one across the major music genres, with each song landing in Billboard’s Hot 100.  Kanye has rocked the entertainment world by openly sharing his radical faith transformation and helping to lead thousands to Christ in the process.

“Kanye West works for God,” the superstar recently told CBS’ Late Late Show host James Corden.

The star rapper says it was Christians in his life who never stopped praying that made all the difference.

“There’s a lot of people that were praying for me,” says Kanye. “When I was all the way gone, when I was at the awards show with a Hennessey bottle running on stage, when I was doing creative direction for certain awards shows, it was people in my family that were praying for me.”

Kanye admits to dealing with addictions like sex and pornography and believes sharing these life struggles makes him more relatable to non-believers exploring faith.

“God always had a plan for me and he always wanted to use me but I think he wanted me to suffer more and wanted people to see my suffering and my pain and put stigmas on me and have me go through all the experiences, human experiences, so now when I talk about how Jesus saved me, more people can relate to that experience,” Kanye continued.

Again, I would point toward the working of God within a common man

While this common man may be an uncommonly talented rapper, still he recognizes his subservience to Christ.

A heart check

A heart check

Have you taken a heart check lately? I’m not talking about the kind that puts you on a treadmill or puts a blood pressure cuff on your arm. Instead of the heart that drives your body, I’m talking about the health of the heart that gives your life meaning.

I’m talking about the motivation for your actions, the feelings that move them, and the character that supports that.

Heart CheckYou know what, no matter how good I feel about myself, I can always remember some slip up — some time I showed hate, didn’t love God, or just missed the mark. And it seems that this tendency is common as far back as Jeremiah. For in his writings, we find:

“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9 NASB)

Still, think about it. Did you have to teach your kids to lie? Did you have to teach them to talk back to you or your spouse?

Not just that one verse points to the condition of our hearts

The condition of our hearts seems pretty bad. Nobody had to teach us to grab the first cookie, to lie, or to be disrespectful. While I could quote a whole list of verses that would remind us of the evilness of our hearts, let me limit it to one verse from Romans:

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23 NASB)

On the other hand, we did have to learn respect, love, and truth. Holding the guiding hands of our parents, we learned to listen. We learned of discipline. With normal parents, we learned the value of rest.

Some of us with Christian parents were led to the feet of God. Others of us found our way to God by the other forms of delivery of the gospel.

The good news — also known as the “gospel” — available to all

For any who have attended a sports event, you have likely seen some version of the central message of Christianity:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NASB)

hearts-over-a-large-heartSo everybody has the chance to gain a new life. Everyone who believes and this is not from an ungracious God. This is from a God who knows our heart; therefore, He gives a new heart:

A new heart

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26 NASB)

If you would like a new heart, just ask him.

Ask him, in prayer, “Father, I accept the forgiveness offered by Christ’s taking my place on the cross. I surrender my life to you.

Thank you for promising to take my disobedient, sick heart and give me your pure and loving heart.

Wash me daily in the reading and sometimes in the hearing of your Bible. Make me more like your Son.”
