Exiting, Obama gives a hat-tip to lawlessness, enhanced government, protectors of Islam, & brings anarchy

Obama commutes 330 sentences on his final day for a total of 1,719

A 19 January 2017 article on The Hill reported on the pardons handed down by Obama on his last full day in the presidency.

President Obama on Thursday commuted the sentences of 330 inmates on his final full day in office, the White House announced.

Obama has set a record with his aggressive use of clemency power. The 1,715 commutations granted during his eight years in office are more than any president in the nation’s history. Of those, 568 were sentenced to life in prison.

‘You have been granted a second chance because the president sees the potential in you,’ White House counsel Neil Eggleston wrote in a blog post. ‘The president concluded that you have taken substantial steps to remedy your past mistakes and that you are deserving of a second chance.’

But Thursday’s batch did not contain those types of names or other well-known political figures who have typically received clemency from past presidents during their final days.

For example, Obama faced pressure to offer commutations or pardons to former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl and former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D).

Instead, the list was made up of non-violent drug offenders on whom Obama has focused his attention during the past two-plus years.

Obama started a clemency initiative in 2014 designed to shorten drug sentences he views as unjust.

What else would cement Obama’s claim to being the most supportive president of lawlessness (other than his continual, dictatorial executive orders)? If you cannot answer that, refer to Obama effectively invalidates his complaints about Russian hacks by commuting the sentence of Pfc. Bradley Manning.

Obama’s last law puts government on steroids

The only thing Obama loves more than an oppressively big government is one that works quickly (as shown by a 23 January 2017 article from The Hill).

“With not even an hour of his presidency to spare, then-President Obama huddled in the holding room in the Capitol, just off the balcony, steps from where then-President-elect Trump would take the oath of office.

In this unusual setting, the outgoing president signed H.R. 39, the Tested Ability to Leverage Exceptional Talent (Talent) Act, to codify the Presidential Innovation Fellows program as a centerpiece of his legacy.

The program, created by the Obama administration in 2012 to build a more efficient, effective, and people-centered government, has received accolades across the political spectrum and private sector.

The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that I run, the Institute for Education, has been an informal supporter of the Presidential Innovation Fellows program since its early days.

I’ve said for years the tech and innovation work done by the Obama team was the most important work that nobody spoke about.

Recently, the program gained significant bipartisan support and even passed both the House of Representatives and Senate with nearly unanimous majorities.

‘As a former telecommunications executive, I know how difficult and bureaucratic it can be for government to adapt to new changes in technology, productivity, and data management,’ Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) stated. ‘This program provides an opportunity for this country’s top talent to bring their diverse and innovative experience to the federal workforce, without displacing change-makers within government.’

Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) embraced a similar outlook.

‘This law will play a part in helping improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our federal workforce,’ Lankford stated. ‘It was a pleasure to work with Senator Warner and Senator Booker on this, and I appreciate the efforts of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who authored the companion bill in the House.’ “

The more concerning part of this comes from the fact that Republicans Lankford and Booker (and obviously a large number of sellouts from conservatism) worked with all of these Democrats.

Obama makes a final call to Angela Merkel

The New York Post provided a brief account of Obama’s last phone call to a head of state.

“President Obama logged his final world-leader phone call Thursday, thanking German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her husband, Joachim Sauer, ‘for their personal friendship’ and partnership, the White House announced.

Michelle Obama joined her husband on the phone call, according to a readout from the White House.

‘The President thanked Chancellor Merkel for her strong, courageous, and steady leadership,’ the statement added.

Merkel is up for re-election this year, trying to avoid a wave of nationalism that has swayed elections in Europe and the US.

‘Given their eight years of friendship and partnership, the President noted that it was fitting that his final call with a foreign leader was with Chancellor Merkel, and he wished her the very best going forward,’ said the White House.”

Considering that these two have major hands in creating the Muslim surge and then working to direct these people into their countries with seemingly little regard for the lawlessness that accompanied the surge, this fits.

Obama enacts a transgender-friendly Immigration policy on 19 January 2017

On his last day in office, Barack Obama issued a pro-transgender immigration policy via a memo (as reported by MRCTV in a 24 January 2017 article.

“One day before President Donald Trump took the oath of office (when exactly no one was paying attention), then-President Barack Obama’s administration quietly finalized a new memorandum allowing immigrants to receive documentation based on their preferred “gender identity.”

According to the policy, enacted on Jan. 19, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will now provide work permits, travel documents, permanent residency cards, refugee documents and Certificates of Naturalization or Citizenship to immigrants based on their gender identity, rather than their biological sex.

Immigrants who already have these documents can petition the government for new ones that reflect their preferred gender. To get a new, updated document, an immigrant must provide a court order or another government-issued I.D. document that reflects their preferred gender (such as a driver’s license, birth certificate or passport). If the immigrant doesn’t have any of these things, the new policy states they can simply bring in a note from their doctor, social worker or counselor verifying their new gender identity.”

So does Obama think that Syrian Muslim refugees will share his acceptance of transgenders and homosexuals?  Or has he set up a stage for victimhood that he can champion?

Obama effectively invalidates his complaints about Russian hacks by commuting the sentence of Pfc. Bradley Manning

Since Obama ended his presidency baselessly claiming that Hillary lost because the Russians “hacked the election” and turned Hillary’s emails over to Wikileaks (a claim that not only doesn’t seem to have facts behind it, but also one that contradicts some of Obama’s own statements), Obama’s last-hour commutation for Bradley Manning of Wikileaks fame totally contradicts the narrative of his “Russian hacking” complaints.

To prove this point, consider the scant information provided by CNN in an 18 January 2017 article.

“President Barack Obama on Tuesday overruled his secretary of defense to commute the sentence of former Army soldier Chelsea Manning, who was convicted of stealing and disseminating 750,000 pages of documents and videos to WikiLeaks.

The decision — which a senior defense official told CNN was made over the objections of Secretary of Defense Ash Carter — immediately touched off a controversy in the closing days of the Obama administration.

A former intelligence official described being ‘shocked’ to learn of Obama’s decision, adding that the ‘entire intelligence community is deflated by this inexplicable use of executive power.’ The official said the move was ‘deeply hypocritical given Obama’s denunciation of WikiLeaks’ role in the hacking of the (Democratic National Committee).’

The President also pardoned James Cartwright, the former vice chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, who pleaded guilty in October to a single charge of making false statements to federal investigators in 2012 when he was questioned about leaking top secret information on US efforts to cripple Iran’s nuclear program to two journalists.

A presidential commutation reduces the sentence being served but it does not change the fact of conviction, whereas a pardon forgives a certain criminal offense.

Manning, a transgender woman, was serving a 35-year sentence at Fort Leavenworth, an all-male Army prison in eastern Kansas, despite her request to transfer to a civilian prison. A White House statement on Tuesday said her prison sentence is set to expire on May 17.”

If you consider the magnitude of Manning’s crime (the number of associated deaths, the missions endangered, the volume of top-secret pages involved, and a number of other details that were not commonly brought up by CNN or other mainstream media outlets), you will have a good starting point.  Then if you consider that these were all swept under the rug for the sake of a statement on one transgender, you will be closer to seeing how little importance Obama really put on cyber security. Finally, think of how many times Obama articles were devoted to “Russian hacking” despite his previous assigning Hillary’s loss to poor campaigning, careless use of a private email server, her lack of outreach to rural communities., and her lack of an electable personality.  These should come together to prove that the often-cited hacking excuse was nothing more than a diversion from Hillary’s poor campaigning.

Obama gives $221 million of taxpayer money to the Palestinian Authority

Obama released $221 million to the Palestinian Authority in a communication to Congress dated 20 January 2017, as reported by the Associated Press in a 24 January 2017 article.

“Officials say the Obama administration in its waning hours defied Republican opposition and quietly released $221 million to the Palestinian Authority that GOP members of Congress had been blocking.

A State Department official and several congressional aides said the outgoing administration formally notified Congress it would spend the money Friday morning. The official said former Secretary of State John Kerry had informed some lawmakers of the move shortly before he left the State Department for the last time Thursday. The aides said written notification dated Jan. 20 was sent to Congress just hours before Donald Trump took the oath of office.

In addition to the $221 million for the Palestinians, the Obama administration also told Congress on Friday it was going ahead with the release of another $6 million in foreign affairs spending, including $4 million for climate change programs and $1.25 million for U.N. organizations, the congressional aides said. The aides and the State Department official weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter and demanded anonymity.

Congress had initially approved the Palestinian funding in budget years 2015 and 2016, but at least two GOP lawmakers — Ed Royce of California, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Kay Granger of Texas, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee — had placed holds on it over moves the Palestinian Authority had taken to seek membership in international organizations. Congressional holds are generally respected by the executive branch but are not legally binding after funds have been allocated.”

Thank God that the State Department was able to block the funds to the Palestinian Authority.

Obama gives $9.2 billion to the United Nations on his way out

As shown by the tweets by Kat and Victoria Varga (with their embedded articles), Obama sent $9.2 billion to the United Nations.

Snowflakes break bank and limo windows

As noted in a 30 January 2017 article in The West Australian, Obama has started testing where he can stick his nose.

“Former President Barack Obama has praised protesters who amassed across the country in opposition to President Donald Trump’s immigration orders, breaking his silence on political issues for the first time since leaving office.

‘The president fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion,’ Obama’s spokesman, Kevin Lewis, said.

In his first statement on behalf of the former president, Lewis said Obama was ‘heartened’ by the amount of engagement taking place in US communities.

‘Citizens exercising their constitutional right to assemble, organise and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake,’ Lewis said.

Lewis didn’t specifically invoke Trump’s immigration order. But he rejected comparisons between Trump’s recent actions and Obama’s foreign policy decisions.

Trump signed an executive order on Friday barring citizens of seven Muslim countries — Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen — from entering the US for at least 90 days.

He also imposed a 120-day suspension of the US refugee program and blocked Syrians from entry indefinitely.

Trump said he took cues from Obama by temporarily banning travel to the US from citizens of seven countries that Obama’s administration identified as places of terrorism concern. But Obama’s designation related strictly to eligibility to enter the US without a visa; he never considered a travel ban.”

Odd how this much information can be discovered by foreign newspapers, but American media keeps spouting the Democrat talking points.
